Select the Alarm Status menu to check the details if the equipment operation is abnormal. RF/Status If repeater control board fails to communicate with the modules inside the repeater via RS485, it will return invalid value as -126dBm for both Input power and Output Power. In such case, users should check if RS485 connection or power supply is normal or not. Page 9 of 23
Alarm Status Display status for all current alarms. In Configuration/Alarm Enable sub-menu, different alarm items can be enabled or disabled. For each alarm item, there is an indicator to show alarm status as following: Grey: The alarm is disabled (OFF). Even this alarm is triggered, it still displays grey and won t send alarm to NMS*. Green: Normal Red: Alarm Note *The repeater can send alarm message only if corresponding NMS server software is installed on server. Messaging function and NMS server software are not included in standard product. Please contact sales@excelwavetechnologies.com if such kind of function is needed. Page 10 of 23

RF Status For users to configure the repeater RF parameters: PA ON/OFF: Turn on or off the power amplifiers. Attenuation: Set UL/DL PA (power amplifier) attenuation or UL/DL LNA (low noise amplifier) attenuation. To balance uplink and downlink, both uplink and downlink attenuations should be adjusted proportionally at the same time. If possible, recommend only set DL LNA attenuation and UL PA attenuation to ensure good noise figure in uplink and prevent downlink front-end from saturation. Always have your system design engineer approve the configuration. Power Threshold and AGC Enable: Power Threshold is used to specify the maximum uplink and downlink output powers. In case output power exceeds the specified threshold, the built-in AGC (Automatic Gain Control) function will adjust system gain automatically so that output power is limited to the specified threshold. Use ICS Enable to turn on or off the selfoscillation control function. Input overload threshold: Input overload Threshold is used to specify the maximum downlink input power. If the input power exceeds the specified threshold, the repeater will shut down. Page 13 of 23
Passband filter bandwidth: MODE A: 1MHz-18MHz bandwidth adjustable band selective repeater mode MODE B: Low time delay 8 channel mode MODE C: High selective 8 channel mode Warning Message The unit will automatically restart when you confirm the configuration change by clicking Set. Alarm Enable Many repeater functions can be monitored through turn on the alarm functions. Users can choose the ones that need to be monitored from this menu. If an alarm is disabled, it won t send message* in case of failure. Recommend use the default factory settings. Note *The repeater can send alarm message only if corresponding NMS server software is installed on server. Messaging function and NMS server software are not included in standard product. Please contact sales@excelwavetechnologies.com if such kind of function is needed. Page 14 of 23
Channels To turn on or off each channel. Note: Only need to set downlink frequencies, uplink frequencies are automatically calculated. In MODE A, use CH1 Start to set the downlink start frequency, and CH1 End to set the downlink stop frequency, use CH SW to turn on or off this mode. IN MODE B and MODE C, use DL Start and DL End to set channel downlink start and end frequency and CH SW turn on or off correspondingly. Page 15 of 23

Tools Tool menu includes Management, Upgrade and Debug and sub-menus. Management Password Management: Reset the access password. The new password will be activated after restart the repeater. Backup Data: Back up the data on the monitoring board to flash. Reset Data: Restore the data in the flash to the monitoring board. Reset MCU: Reset all the repeater configurations to factory default after 1 minute. Warning Message Always document the new password and store it to somewhere else once it s changed. Users cannot log into the system and change the password without correct password. System cannot be recovered if password is missed. Always backup the system data and store the flash driver to somewhere else. It is user s full responsibility to record and track the password and protect the data stored in the flash driver. 20 User Manual Product Description and List of Features ERDCHS1-700 and ERDCHS1-800 series repeaters are digital repeaters which support one wide band or up to eight non-contiguous narrow bands simultaneously in the 700MHz and 800MHz frequency ranges respectively. Wide band mode can be used for applications where group delay needs to be tightly controlled while narrow band modes can be used for applications where uplink and downlink frequencies need to be tightly controlled. The units are configurable via web browser-based GUI or network management system (NMS server package-optional), which provides versatility and easy access to the users. Support one wide band or up to 8 non-contiguous narrow bands (channels) 3 digital filter operation modes provide great flexibility to balance signal selectivity and group time delay for optimum system performance Frequency re-farming and bandwidth adjustment by software. One wide band and two narrow band operation modes can be switched between each other by software. 90dB high gain and 37dBm high output power Aluminum alloy casting enclosure provides IP65 protection and natural cooling system without fan Light weight and compact size, flexible wall and pole mount Built-in AGC and ALC function avoid complicated initial configuration during installation Unique firmware supports 45dB AGC and 40dB ALC range, providing reliable communication between mobiles and base stations, and to enhance gain and coverage range Temperature. output power level, gain, return loss, VSWR and other operation parameters can be configured and monitored remotely or locally Built-in self-oscillation protection. Automatically reduce the gain when self-oscillation is detected. Automatically turn off the unit and send alarm if gain reduction isn t sufficient to prevent the oscillation. RJ45 port supports TCP/IP and local computer setup and monitoring by built-in web interface Built-in auto switch for external DC battery or UPS backup Alarm dry contact output Optional NEMA 4X compliant enclosure with red fire code color can be available Optional NMS server package to support SNMP and alert can be available Page 19 of 23

Before Installation Please verify the model number, uplink and downlink frequencies labeled on the equipment, ensure they match with your PO and your system requirements. Please contact your sales representative if you find any discrepancy. Read this manual before installation. Install the equipment only in a normal environment. The built-in signal strength and power level readings are for reference only. We highly recommend that if possible, always use spectrum analyzer and other equipment to assist the installation. Ideally, donor signal strength should have been measured prior to the installation and the link budget and coverage have been calculated by certified RF system design engineer. BOM, test plan and other documents must be in place prior to the installation. Safety Information and Regulations Do not dismantle the equipment. Do not add extra pressure to repeater enclosure or attach anything to the surface. Use only the power cord supplied with the repeater, not any alternative. The AC power supply or connection cable for external DC backup power supply must be weather proofed for outdoor installation. The unit is for normal indoor or outdoor environment application. Do not install the repeater in a strong electric, high-intensity magnetic, corrosive, moist, excessive temperature and other harsh environments. Install the repeater in a place that is not accessible by kids and unauthorized individuals. Install and ground the unit following local inbuilding and communication site construction codes. It is your responsibility to ensure the use of repeater complies with FCC and other regulations. Do not power on the repeater before BS and MS ports are connected to feedlines. Installation and Commission Test Please use Excelwave Technologies Repeater System Deployment General Guide ( 20.pdf ) and other industry practices as reference to install the repeater and perform the commission test. Please follow your system design documents to install the repeater, donor antenna, service antenna or DAS antennas. Any change against your design documents must be approved by your system design engineers. Configure the repeater following the instruction for the repeater software configuration. Use the parameters provided in your system design document. Any change must be approved by your system design engineers. Page 21 of 23
