13 Fuel Information Management System System can assist you with your FIS data by further monitoring the accuracy of the flight planning system by reporting: Fuel on Board (FOB) Fuel Uplift Indicated Air Speed Altitude Fuel Over Destination (FOD). This will enable you to track each aircraft s fuel burn efficiently and accurately for comparison against the flight planning system. Some of the parameters may be automatically collected, while others may require input into an EFB to be transmitted from the aircraft

14 Fuel Information Management System There are a number of standard parameters that System can report to help increase fuel savings: Single engine taxis Departure/arrival runway Actual cruise altitude Actual cruise speed TOC (distance and time) and IAS in climb Reduced flap landings Engine idle on landing (no thrust reverse) Use of spoilers on descent Effect of scheduled times vs. flight times (actual IAS) Holding short for available gates Flap extension altitudes Some of the parameters may be automatically collected, while others may require input into an EFB to be transmitted from the aircraft

15 Iridium for POS POS = Point of Sale Reduce Fraudulent Purchases. Successful proof of concept with one of the world s leading onboard commerce retailer allows credit card processing to occur while the aircraft is enroute. Data is sent using afirs as a gateway for processing which allows confirmation to be received thus eliminated any fraudulent purchases.
