This maintenance visit was combined with a maintenance visit to the Oceanus
2 Initia ls Maintenance Checklist Page 2 Antenna Equipment (ignore SeaTel/Ship-specific points with * for fixed antennas) Action Notes/Discussion Inspect or change air conditioner filter Filter in good condition Verify air conditioner is in working order, repair as needed Unit is operational Confirm/Set final air conditioner temperature set point (85 deg F) Take photo of dome interior or main antenna support Take photo of rack gear front Take photo of rack gear rear Perform SeaTel or Vertex service bulletin upgrades/repairs Inspect reflector, repair as needed No new damage found since last maintenance report Inspect antenna equipment/frame/cowls for water, rust, or damage, repair as needed Lube/grease/treat any joints as necessary Inspect antenna equipment and wiring harness for loose cables, repair as needed All wire harnesses are tight and secure Sweep antenna through entire Az and El ranges Verify and record reasonable search limits or safety stops for given location and satellite, adjust as needed Inspect cabling and connectors behind and around rack gear, repair as needed No adjustment required Cables & connectors are in good condition Take photo of radome exterior * Visual inspection of radome (cracks, abrasions, caulk, leaks, excessive grime, etc.), repair as needed * Visual inspection of radome base, legs, and connection to ship (rust, warping, etc.), repair as needed * Radome is in good condition No leaks or damage Antenna base is in good condition no action required Check antenna balance, adjust as needed * Balance was good No adjustment required
3 Page 3 Inspect antenna equipment/frame for loose weights and hardware, repair as needed * Verify power level to pedestal/motors * Verify pedestal breaker works, repair as needed * Verify acceptable antenna/controller Power-On Self Test (POST) * Record DAC/controller parameters * See attached list Verify DAC parameters are accessible, correct, and saved * Verify that GPS inputs to DAC function (if GPS is operational) * Verify that gyro inputs to DAC function (if gyro is operational) * Verify correct conscan or dishscan settings, adjust as needed * Dishscan is operational Verify reasonable blackout zone, adjust as needed * None programmed Check Az/El trim values, correct as needed to get longitude search close * Locate spares kit. Verify completeness of the kit, note missing parts. * Upgrade SeaTel/controller firmware with maintenance releases as necessary * Verify dish will sweep full elevation range of motion (-15 to +115 degrees) physically * Verify dish will sweep full elevation pointing (0-90 degrees) when commanded by DAC * Verify dish will do a full azimuth sweep physically at the lowest physical elevation * Verify dish will do a full azimuth sweep at the lowest pointed elevation when commanded by the DAC * Verify dish frame lines up with and will safely bump against all rubber stops should it reach the end of its range of motion * Locate and test RS-422/RS-232 adapter used with converter, modify pinouts so it is not needed, or verify that it is not needed as is. Note status. * Not Required Safety stops are in correct positions, tight and secure no adjustment required

5 Page 5 Cisco Router Equipment Initials Action Notes/Discussion Verify cables and connectors are snug and screwed in, repair as needed Verify serial cable is a CAB-530MT with Comtech Cisco adapter and modem is in RS-422 mode Verify that green connect light on serial card is lit when modem is locked up Verify router survives a power cycle and can route traffic within 15 minutes of turning on while connected. Notify techs that they may want to save router settings!! Rack Equipment Initials Action Notes/Discussion Inspect rack conditions for proper rack gear cooling, lighting, wiring, etc. (Earth station: Verify lights and A/C work) Check and record rack air conditioner set point No AC control available but room in kept cool Overall Initials Action Notes/Discussion Take photos of ship/dome placement Check with ship techs/crew for overall impression of equipment performance and possible problem areas Locate spares kit (with help from techs) and verify all SeaTel spares and one LNA exist. Note discrepancies. Verify spectrum analyzer shows proper picture of Tx and Rx carriers Comment on or correct previous maintenance report issues that were pointed out
6 Page 6 Knorr Spare Parts List Note: The spare parts were not confirmed on this visit. The list below is from the previous maintenance visit.
7 Page 7 General Notes 1. There were no outstanding maintenance issues. The antenna system was operating correctly, and no tracking problems were reported by the crew. 2. The Isolation Springs were checked and found to be in good condition. No adjustment was required. 3. The radome is in good condition with no scratches or damage. The base is also in good condition with minimal rust. No action is required. 4. The antenna reflector showed no further damage to the back surface since the last maintenance visit in May Thee Level Cage orientation was checked and found to be in correct position. The Remote Tilt Procedure was not required.
