2 OI PUSE / TIMER OI Series Overview The OI Series line, including the OI Series, is part of the new VIVISUN Multi-unction ody (M) Series which will provide designers unparalleled customization opportunities for avionic switch applications. In lieu of the simple functionality of a lighted pushbutton switch, today s design environment demands an increasingly interactive man-machine interface with requirements for timed and conditional lighted messages, aural alarms and flashing indicators. The OI Series line addresses these challenges and is designed to: Increase functionality within the typical pushbutton switch envelope Simplify complex circuit designs ecrease the need for external components (relays and timing devices) Overview The VIVISUN OI Series is the newest component in the VIVISUN OI Series line of products, enabling an enhanced set of options for operator interface and design flexibility. The OI Series eliminates the need for many common relays and timing devices found in advanced avionics and ground control electrical designs. The s two independent channels can be individually selected to: Respond to a positive (rising) or negative (falling) edge input enerate an outgoing igh or ow pulse for defined intervals from 100 milliseconds to onds enefits: The OI Series functionality can allow, within the existing switch envelope, the ability to: Respond to reciprocal transitions such as Weight On/Off Wheels or /lose Initiate independent channel control with Reset line Produce a delayed outgoing pulse by connecting channels in series ompatibility: The OI Series is compatible with a wide range of proven VIVISUN products, including: Indicators, single, or double pole switches ¾ E caps and 1 x 1.2 R3 E caps 95 Series incandescent caps Existing solderless termination system pplications: In addition to the technical and qualification information on the following pages, the OI Series pplication Examples sheet details 4 different sample applications of the functionality. Several examples combine the OI Series functionality with the features of the OI Series Electronic atching switch. The VIVISUN OI Series allows the design engineer to provide a robust electronic solution while concurrently reducing weight, installation labor, and circuit complexity. (Smoke etector) emonstrates how multiple units may be connected in parallel to perform independent non-blocking activation of alarms or warnings. If either smoke detector is activated it will activate a local ond alarm. It will also initiate a continuous alarm and indication in the cockpit that is controlled by VIVISUN Electronic atching switches. The cabin alarm may be cancelled by pressing the associated cabin mute button. The ockpit alarm is canceled by pressing the SMOE RM MUTE switch or SMOE RM reset switch. If a new smoke detection signal occurs the alarms will be reactivated. This example uses both channels of the VIVISUN : one channel is configured for a ond pulse to activate the local alarm and the other a 0.25 second pulse to activate the alarm in the cockpit.

(Motor ontrol) emonstrates an automatic motor control using the VIVISUN. Pressing the STOWE switch will activate the Stow relay for a maximum of ond causing the motor to move to the stowed direction. When the Stowed limit switch is reached the VIVISUN will be automatically reset stopping the motor. Pressing the EPOYE switch will activate the eployed relay for a maximum of ond causing the motor to move to the deployed direction. When the eployed limit switch is reached the VIVISUN will be automatically reset stopping the motor. Note: if the motor is currently in transit pressing the other switch will reverse the direction of movement.
