3 Open Web Services Can connect to FireWatch and other SRSS information via open web services, such as WMS New Website in Development 3

4 Natural Disaster Resilience Package (NDRP) - 1 year of approved funding Enhancements to Firewatch and Floodmap Information and Services 1) Redefining Landgate SRSS online services to better meet users needs - Web delivery improvements stakeholder engagement - Enabling smart phones to use fire and flood information - Tutorial development to assist training 2) Extension of FireWatch and Floodmap services to deliver new data products - Automatically delivered map products (for example: a PDF mapped ed to you) - Improvements to the MODIS land cover change product - Time Since Last Burn product - Refining the state-wide flood risk model - Development of soil moisture applications - Investigate mapping of large scale pollutant events and oil slicks FireWatch information use to be enhanced by ARC Linkage Grant Project Partners Edith Cowan University, Landgate, Charles Darwin University Edith Cowan University has been awarded an Australian Research Council (ARC) linkage grant to further develop the design and community engagement potential of using Landgate s fire information. The grant was one of only 20 Linkage Projects awarded in Western Australia. Two phases 1) Design Phase and 2) Community Phase This grant will allow further work with communities in the north of WA, and visual designers behind the scene, to enhance FireWatch information for use by the general public as well as fire management professionals. 3 year project, starting Feb PhD students will be appointed. Any assistance with their research would be very much appreciated... 4
