2 ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS QUESTION 1: 25 MARKS 1. Explain the differences between Raster Images and Vector Images. (4 marks) 2. A designer is creating a poster to be printed in A2 format: (i) In what image mode does the file need to be saved for printing? (ii) Name two other image modes besides the one used in this context. (iii) The artwork has been designed entirely on Adobe Photoshop, with multiple layers, what can the designer do to reduce the file size without losing in quality. (4 marks) 3. Artworks need to be saved at specific resolutions in specific contexts, specify the ideal resolution in DPI for each of the following situation: (i) Artwork to be published in newspaper (ii) Artwork to be published in a high quality print magazine (iii) Artwork to be used on a website Page 2 of 8
