1 Photo Guide Overview: This is a basic field guide to Sunoco mystery shop photo requirements. A more in-depth explanation of photo requirements can be found in the Sunoco instructional presentation. It is strongly recommended that you print this guide and take it with you; referring to it as needed should you have questions about photo requirements. Section A: Standard Sunoco Photos There are 3 Standard photos required in all Sunoco mystery shops: 1. An overall Restroom photo 2. An overall photo of the Pump you evaluated when purchasing fuel 3. An overall photo of the Sunoco Location 1. Overall Restroom photo details: Stand with your back toward the restroom entrance door so that you may frame both the sink and toilet in your photo. If you are not able to capture both the sink and toilet in a single photo, you will need to capture two (2) photos; one of the sink, and one of the toilet. 2 photos are needed if it s not possible to capture both elements in a single photo. 2. Overall Pump photo details: This is an overall photo of the pump you evaluated (and from which you purchased fuel). The pump photo should capture the entire pump from top-to-bottom & left-to-right. Note that this photo must be taken from directly in front of the pump so that you are facing it squarely. Pump photos taken an an angle will not be accepted. Photos must be bright, clear and framed properly. Incorrect 1

Credit Card Application photo details: During the same time period that you capture your overall pump photo, you will need to collect a credit card application from the holder (behind the front insert) and capture a photo of the application. 4. Overall Location photo details: The overall location photo must capture the pumps/canopy and the building storefront. Typically, this will require driving off the lot so that you may take the photo from across the street. As such, it s best to capture this photo as the last step of your shop. Similar to your Pump photo, the Overall Location photo must be taken straight on and not at an angle. Overall Location photos taken at an angle will not be accepted. Incorrect 2

3 Section B: Negative Condition Photos In addition to Standard Photos, you are required to capture photos to document negative conditions (if present) in the following areas: i. Restroom ii. Exterior Lot iii. Exterior POP Signage / Credit Card Applications (at the pump) iv. Closed/Rebranded Location Negative Condition Photos must be bright, clear, and should capture a close-up image of the issue. i. Restroom Negative Condition photo(s): If negative conditions are noted in the restroom (e.g. dirty sink, overflowing trash receptacle, etc.), you must capture a separate close-up photo documenting each issue observed. ii. Exterior Lot Negative Condition photo(s): If any negative conditions are noted on the exterior lot (e.g. excessive trash in the lot, poorly maintained landscaping, etc.), you must capture a separate close-up photo documenting each issue observed. 3

4 iii. Exterior POP Signage Negative Condition photo(s): If POP signage is obviously missing (e.g. an empty POP sign frame) or if out-of-date POP signage is observed, you must capture a separate photo documenting each issue observed. Alternatively, if there is no POP signage on display anywhere on the exterior lot, capture as many photos of the empty/incorrect signage as possible without giving yourself away as a mystery shopper. iv. Exterior Credit Card Applications Negative Condition photo(s): If Credit Card Applications are not present at the pump, your Negative Condition photo must clearly show not only the pump, but also any canopy poles situated next to the pump. This is necessary to document the fact that no credit card applications are present at either area. If applications are present at your pump, but not current, then you should capture a close-up photo of an application and holder, with the application sticking out of the holder so that it may clearly be seen that the applications were out of date. Overall photo documents that applications were not present. This close-up photo clearly documents that credit card applications were present, but not current. 4

Closed / Rebranded Location photo(s): In the event the location is closed (for any reason) or is no longer operating under the Sunoco brand, you must capture four (4) separate photos to document the issue: 1. A photo showing some kind of address indication 2. An overall exterior photo 3. A photo of the ID / Price sign 4. A photo of the store front, showing any signage indicating that the location is closed (if applicable). 1. Address 2. Overall 3. ID / Price Sign 4. Storefront 5
