1 Online Treasury Manager New Image Viewing Functionality Overview SunTrust is excited to announce that effective Monday, December 22, 2003, you will have image access to: Paid items Deposits Deposited items Positive Pay exception items Account adjustments This industry leading technology will allow you to access images within Online Treasury Manager. Reconciliation and research is now easy and instantaneous. For your convenience, we have compiled a summary of all the new image capabilities in this document for your information and reference. To provide convenient image access, over time, SunTrust has begun to archive images of your transactions to ultimately create a cumulative, seven year database for SunTrust items and a five-year archive for items drawn on other banks. Please refer to the sections below for the amount of available image history within each module. Sample screens and explanations of the new online image capabilities are also provided. Currently, you have been accessing images from the Stop Payment and Positive Pay modules. Beginning December 22, you may also access images directly from the Balance Reporting module. A new Image Search function is available so you can retrieve any images SunTrust has stored. Sample screens and explanations of the new online image capabilities are provided on the following pages.

2 Positive Pay The Positive Pay Report will continue to be image enabled. As indicated in the sample report above, each positive pay suspect item contains an image icon. By clicking the image icon, the suspect item image displays in the enhanced online image viewer. Retrieval times for each online image will vary, depending on where the image is stored. 2

3 Stop Payment As indicated in the sample report above, each item on the Stop Payment report contains an image icon, where applicable. By clicking the image icon, the associated image will be displayed. Retrieval times for each image will vary, depending on whether the information is stored using fast access media or the slower tape storage method (see page 8 for additional details). 3

4 Balance Reporting All paper-based transactions displayed in this module will be image-enabled and you will have 93 calendar days of retained data. Most paper-based transactions will include a link to the image associated with the transaction. Please refer to the sample report above. By clicking the image icon, the associated image displays in the enhanced online image viewer. Retrieval times for each online image will vary, depending on where the image is stored. 4

5 Image Search Up to seven years (accumulated over time) of image history will be stored on the new image archive, as opposed to the 93 calendar days, for example, of accessible history in Balance Reporting. In order to search for and display images that pre-date the information available in the Balance Reporting, Stop Payment, and Positive Pay modules, a new module, Image Search, has been introduced. You may also use Image Search for recent transactions, but you must use it to retrieve images for items that pre-date the history stored in the other modules. The Image Search module allows you to specify search criteria, review a list of images that meet your search criteria, and select the specific images you would like to view. Other tools have also been introduced to facilitate the image research process. Image Search Screen The Image Search tab within the Images module provides a number of criteria that can be selected to specify a search for a single image or a range of images. Criteria include: Customer account number Account/routing number of the deposited item, if applicable Credit/deposit/detail item Date (range) Amount (range) Serial number (range) After selecting the appropriate criteria for a search, click Submit to review the results of your search. 5

6 Results Screen After submitting search criteria, the results of your search are displayed. Specific criteria, such as a serial number, may result in only a single item. Less specific criteria, such as a date range, may result in multiple items. Up to 500 results can be returned in response to your search. In either case, the Results screen displays summary information about the item(s) that meet your search criteria. By clicking the image icon, the associated image will display. For any deposited item, clicking the image icon will display the deposit ticket. Clicking the Item List link (see example above) will display a list of all the individual items in the deposit. Deposited Items By clicking the Item List link in the search results list, information about each item in the deposit is displayed. For each deposited item, clicking the image icon will display the deposited item. 6

7 Image Viewer Clicking any image icon in Online Treasury Manager will display the associated image in the enhanced image viewer. Multiple tools are available in the viewer to facilitate online image research. The following tools are available in the enhanced image viewer to facilitate online image research: 1. Save Save the displayed image to disc for future use (*.tif format). 2. Print Print the front and back of the imaged item on a single page. 3. Zoom Zoom in and out on the image. 4. Reverse Change image from black-on-white to white-on-black to make small or fine printing easier to read. 5. Rotate Turn the image 90-degrees to read endorsements, etc. 6. Brightness and Contract Adjust either image attribute to make dark or faint printing more legible. 7. Front/Back Alternate between the front and back of an image. 7

8 Mainframe versus Tape Storage After a period of time (5 to 138 business days, depending on the image type), images are moved from the mainframe archive to a tape backup system. Doing so allows fast access to a streamlined archive of more recent images on the mainframe while allowing access to older images from permanent tape storage. Access to images from the fast media storage will take from 3-10 seconds, depending on your connection speed, network traffic, and other factors. Access to images that have been moved to tape storage may take several minutes. When you click the image icon for an image that has been moved to tape storage, rather than cause you to wait several minutes for an image to be retrieved, Online Treasury Manager will indicate that the image is being retrieved from tape storage. While you are performing other activities, the system will retrieve your image from tape storage and temporarily move the image into fast media storage. Once this transfer is completed, you will retrieve the item through the Image History function to display the image within fast access response time. Image History All retrieved images will be listed by category on the Image History screen for one business day. The screen provides you with fast access to any item that has been recently retrieved. This list includes all items retrieved from either fast access or tape for that day. So, any item on the Image History display, including those that were loaded from tape storage, can be viewed in only a few seconds.
