3 Introduction WRFL STYLE GUIDE This style guide has been created to ensure that all club On-Field and On-Court apparel deliver a consistent branding and style across the League commencing with all apparel production from 1 August The league expects ALL apparel orders submitted after 1 August 2018 to comply with these guidelines regardless of whether a club s design had previously been approved. The style guide outlines the league requirements for all On-Field and On-Court Apparel, including but not limited to; all On-Field Football Apparel for Seniors and Juniors (both Male and Female), On-Field warm up tops, On-Field Football Officials, On-Court Netball Dresses and On-Field Umpire Apparel. Whilst the WRFL reserves the right to change these guidelines at any time it will do so in a way that minimises disruption to club operations. WRFL CLUB APPAREL DESIGNS All WRFL affiliated clubs are required to comply with the WRFL Style Guide for all On-Field and On-Court Apparel orders issued, including the use of the approved WRFL Licensed Apparel Suppliers to produce all apparel outlined in the guide. From 1 August 2018, all new and previously used designs will need to be submitted for approval by the WRFL s CEO prior to the order being manufactured. Any clubs who source On-Field or On-Court Apparel from a non-approved WRFL Licensed Apparel Supplier will be subject to a fine, as deemed fit by the WRFL Board pursuant to By-Law 6.4. On-field or on-court apparel stock pre - 1 august 2018 At the time of developing these guidelines the WRFL was aware of a minority of existing clubs On-Field apparel not meeting these new guidelines. The League does not expect these clubs to replace all their noncompliant stock at the one time, unless they wish to. However, as from 1 August 2018, only On-Field and On-Court apparel designs that are compliant with the new guidelines will be permitted to be produced. The WRFL understands that this decision will mean some clubs have teams taking the field with varying designed apparel. Whilst not ideal, this is deemed the best way to ensure that we achieve a consistent look across the league in the short to medium term whilst avoiding clubs having to replace all their non-compliant apparel for season Issue Date: 27/03/2019 3
4 Intellectual property WRFL LOGO The Western Region Football League logo is made up of a symbol with text in the centre and text underneath. There are currently five approved variations of the WRFL Logo which are explained under WRFL Logos on page 5 in this style guide. The Western Region Football League logo as a whole and its individual components are registered Trade Marks. The WRFL logo, including all its individual components, cannot be used in any form by any individual, organisation or company without the written permission from the Western Region Football League. Any club involved in the re-production of material and/or items incorporating the WRFL logo in whole or part, produced by a non-approved individual, organisation or company, will result in that club being financially sanctioned by the league. WRFL LICENSED APPAREL SUPPLIERS The Western Region Football league will from time to time appoint by way of written permission and/or a written contract Official Supplier Organisations or Individuals as WRFL Licence Rights Holders allowing these individuals or organisations to use the WRFL logo for the term of the contract whether that be once off, ongoing, or for a specified time period. Any individual, company or organisation who reproduces the WRFL Logo, in part or whole without written permission from the league will be pursued under the Federal Trade Marks Act The current approved WRFL Licensed Apparel Suppliers are outlined on page 22 of this Style Guide. WRFL Licenced Apparel Suppliers please note - All apparel produced by WRFL Licensed Apparel Suppliers must ensure the WRFL logo remains in its correct ratio during any scaling down or up. Any apparel produced with a distorted or stretched WRFL logo will be in violation of this style guide and may be subject to reproduction at the Apparel Suppliers expense. Issue Date: 27/03/2019 4
