3 PORTRAIT Nestled in Bannack, Montana, a small ghost town was the back drop to my first taste in portrait photography. With each of these photos I learned how to set up and adjust auxiliary lighting to properly feature my models. Portrait photography has taught me how to connect with others, in a way to tell their stories with one single image. 2 3

5 DEPTH OF FIELD 6 What may seem like a simple scene can take on a whole new world with just a change in focus. The depth of field is divided into two sections: Shallow and Deep. To capture a deep depth of field, like the images above, the aperture needs to be set at a larger number, like f/16-f/22. To capture images, like the images to the right, the aperture needs to be a smaller number like f/3.5-f/5. 7

6 SHUTTER SPEED 8 Life in motion can be caught with a single click, but how you catch that motion can be determined on one thing, shutter speed. In these images I captured motion with different shutter speeds. For the images above and below I used a quick shutter speed, around 1/200-1/640. While for the images on the right I used a slower shutter speed of seconds. 9

7 MACRO Catching even the smallest detail can be done with macro photography. To capture these detailed images I used a normal lens with a macro filter on the end. Although, the lens and filter doesn t do all the work. To get that perfectly focused shot bod position is everything when it comes to macro photography

8 ABSTRACT Try to look at something a new way. Find a different perspective? Now that is perspective photography. To capture these different images I changed the way that I would look at seemingly simple objects. To get a different shot of the classroom, I laid on the floor. To capture the wood paneling on the building, instead of looking at the building head on, I decided to look up

9 SERIES 14 When taking the time to look, finding similarities around us is easier than you think. I enjoyed looking for similarities in all the things around me. While in Bannack, Montana I took the time to capture the many different types of doors that dotted the town. Series can be found in many different mediums, not just solid buildings. 15

10 PERSPECTIVE Bridge jumping, anyone? I brought a new perspective to a simple bridge by finding new angles to shoot from. To capture each individual shot I had to think differently. I had to think, how will I get something different from this bridge? Perspective photography, like many other photography types, bring a different look to normal objects

11 FINE ART Capturing a single object, no matter the location, can be defined as fine art. With these images I wasn t necessarily looking for a different angle. I wanted to show normal everyday objects in their simplest form. There is much beauty in the simple things that surround each of us. You just need to look
