it s a strange world macro photography This project brought me into a whole new, almost alien, world of everyday objects. For each photograph an LED light was set up to better capture all the little details. Manual focus was the only way to get each object to look clear. mushroom which The first image is a mushroom, whichisiscut cutin in half and placed so the inside was facing up. The second image is the inside of a bell pepper. The a water dropleton onthe theoutside outsideofofaa third image is water droplets wine glass. Water was dripped on the sides and the photo was taken right before the water dropped two water dropsoff the glass.off the glass. dripped A macro tube was used in order to get such close up pictures of the subjects.

Levitation it s a strange world Using a tripod, a photo was taken of the scene without my model. Then my model layed on a bench in the scene and we took the same picture. In Photoshop the image was opened (without my model) and then the image with my model was placed on top. A layer mask was added and the brush tool was used to get rid of the bench. I made sure to adjust the opacity on the brush to blend things in so it looked less flat on the bottom where the bench was.

wide open spaces bannack ghost town The two photographs on this page were taken at a place called Bannack Ghost Town in Montana. (There are some other photographs in this book that were also taken there.) This old town was once a booming gold mining city. Now, decades later, the buildings are all worn down. The wallpaper is pealing. The door hinges are rusting. The wood is dry and cracked. All these textures made for a perfect photo shoot. While on site there was an eerie feeling that was hard to shake. Each building had its own story and past inhabitants. You could almost feel the townsmen walking with you.

wide open spaces

landscape While it can be otherworldly to look at something through a magnifying glass, it can be equally as awe-inspiring to capture scenes on a larger scale. Seeing th whole picture gives you an idea of how truly beautiful this world is. From something as mundane as a dead field or a worn down building to a beautiful sunset or rainbow in the middle of a dust storm. It is hard to remember these moments of natural wonder, but through landscape photography you are able to capture those moments and remember just how brilliant they really were.

up close and personal

portraiture While classic portraits have their place, I strive to take portraits from a different angle that may seem a little unusual. This being said, it can be very hard to take creative portraits. I think to myself, How can I make this more exciting? How can I capture a side of this person that may not be seen on a daily basis? up close and personal Sometimes that means finding a new angle to shoot from and sometimes that means drenching them in orange juice.
