1 Creative Serging Class Designed by Deb Canham
2 Creative Serging Class f you have a Babylock Serger you can attend this class. `Sew Worth t ` is kindly providing a couple of machines for those of you that do not have Chain and Cover Stitch so that you can complete this project. While this project is decorative in nature, this is a full course on how to get the most out of your serger. While all these stitches are decorative they are also functional stitches that you will use on knits and other projects. The class also includes use of many of the feet. Full illustrated and written instructions accompany the class and those of you that prefer to work ahead can do so. You will be working in order of stitches starting with 3 Thread Rolled hem, 3 thread Decorative, Flatlock stitch and 4 Thread. You will then move on to Chain and Cover to quilt the bag. When you select your Decorative thread colors consider Contrasting colors because you want your thread work to stand out. You can bring as many threads as you like. Designer 7, Pearl Crown Rayon and Candlelight are all very easy to work with and even fit through the eye of the needle.which you will need for topstitching. Madeira Decora and Cotona are thicker and more `sumptuous`. Please note that you can use more colors and fabrics than have. You could use all fat quarters and scraps.(except for the lining). You have written instructions but there is room in this class for you to do your own thing and use your own creativity. t is all about having fun on the serger. On the first day we will be having 1/2 hour for lunch so we can get a good start on this project. Please make sure that you have all your pieces cut and ready to start stitching as soon as you get to class. f you have any problems, questions or need any further information please me at deb@debcanham.com NOTE: We have set up an additional preparation day when you can come along and work with me cutting out and selecting fabric and thread. t is not compulsory and there will be an additional charge but it may help you to be super ready for this class.
