The waistcoat is lined and bagged-out (easy, we'll tell you how!) and has no pockets, buttons or other fastenings. Skills needed include: working straight seams; bagging out a lined garment. 2a Join the FABRIC OR CONTRAST backs together; press the center back seam open. + ABOUT THIS STYLE This style has an semi-fitted silhouette, with edge-to edge front opening and panel seams. 3 PrintTemp -- Col: 6 Row: of 2 PAGE 2 OF 3 3d Join the front facing to the front edge of the front lining; you will need to form a pleat with the excess lining at the top edge of the hem facing... 4c Fold the collar back and baste or pin it into place along the shoulder seamline. + =... looks like this: 5a Sandwich the fronts between the back & the back lining. Stitching through all thicknesses, join the back to the fronts along the shoulder seams, continuing around the back neckline and along the armholes to the side seams. 4a Join the front lining/facing to the front fabric around the armhole and along the front and hem edges... RIGHT SIDE OF FABRIC BACK + RIGHT SIDE OF FRONT LINING RIGHT SIDE OF FRONT LINING...looks like this... WRONG SIDE OF LINING BACK 5b Sew through bothe the back fabric and the back lining along the bottom edges; you'll probably need to pull the fronts through the openings at the side seams to do this neatly. Press the seams open & clip the seam allowances. 4b...clip all the seam allowances, press the seams open and understitch along the armhole and the front & hem edges, on the WRONG side only. Start & stop 2" or 5cm from the edge, looks like this...

Ready to complete it? 6b 6b Working INSIDE the waistcoat, hand sew the top edges of the hem facings to the wrong side of the fronts.....leave the last 2" or 5cm from the cut edges unsewn. Join the fronts to the back along the side seams. Start sewing the linings together about 2" or 5cm from the armhole. Sew up to the armhole and, making sure that the outer & inner armhole seamlines match, sew down to the bottom. Finish off by sewing up the lining about 2' or 5cm, leaving an opening in the center of the lining side seams. Press the seams open, then close the side seam opening on the lining by hand or machine WRONG SIDE OF THE BACK LINING SEW UP HERE (LINING) SEW UP HERE (LINING) THIS IS THE FABRIC SIDE SEAM SEW DOWN HERE (FABRIC) WRONG SIDE OF THE SIDE PANEL LINING Finished & Fabulous! this square should measure 2" x 2" OR 5cm x 5cm use this to check that your pattern has printed off correctly to scale
