Step 1 Preparation Paper cut for ANSI A (German DIN A4) prints: This pattern is printed on 8.5 11 sheets of plain paper. Do not scale or center pages before printing.

2 Step 1 Preparation Paper cut for ANSI A (German DIN A4) prints: This pattern is printed on sheets of plain paper. Do not scale or center pages before printing. Wait until all sheets are printed out before beginning to tape them together. Do not cut out pattern pieces yet Arrange the sheets on a large, hard, flat surface so that they fit together, matching up like numbers and letters (i.e. 6A to 6A). To tape pattern together, fold under the margin of one piece (6A) and tape right against the line of it s matching number/letter (6A). Trace the pattern pieces from the pattern sheet in the right size. This blouse runs size Follow the lines for model 121 for this blouse. (This pattern sheet also includes pieces for model 122 and 123 A and B. Disregard these lines and some of the pattern pieces when making this blouse.) burda style magazine pattern do not have seam allowance included. 3 Cut the following pattern pieces: Main fabric: Pattern piece number 1 Front piece, cut x2 Pattern piece number 3- Back piece, cut on fold x1 Pattern piece number 4 Front facing, x 2 Pattern piece number 5 Back facing, cut on fold x1 Pattern piece number 6 Sleeve, cut x2 Pattern piece number 7 Front flounce, cut x2 Pattern piece number 8 Neck edge flounce, cut x2 Also draft and cut the following pieces not included on the pattern sheet: a) Two tie bands, cut two bands of the following dimensions; size 36: cm (47 1/4 3 1/4 in) size 38: cm (49 3 1/4 in) size 40: cm (50 1/2 3 1/4 in) size 42: cm (52 3 1/4 in) size 44: cm (53 1/2 3 1/4 in) (finished width 4 cm (1 5/8 in)) 3

4 Step 3 Bust darts On the front piece, stitch the darts as marked on the fabric and press them down. Then sew the pleats on the front and back pieces. To do this work on the inside of the fabric and stitch between the arrow marks. Lay the pleats in the direction of arrow. Press pleat seam. Step 4 Side seams Lay the front pieces on the back piece, right sides facing each other and line up the side seams. Pin and stitch along side seam. Leave slit open in right side seam. Press allowances open and press allowances on slit edges to the inside. Topstitch close to edges of slit. Step 5 Hem Fold hem allowance to inside, fold one more time to inside, press down and stitch Step 6 Flounces Press allowances on curved outer edges of front flounces to inside, turn half in, and stitch. With wrong side facing right side, tack flounces to front neck edges, from seam number 1, and to front edges, as far as hem. Tack straight upper ends of flounces to shoulder seam edges. Step 7 Shoulder seams Stitch the shoulder seams. Neaten seam allowances together and press allowances onto back. Step 8 Neck Stitch the centre back seam of the neck edge flounce. Trim seam allowances, neaten together, and press to one side. Press allowance on outer flounce edge to inside, turn half in, and stitch. Tack flounce to front and back neck edges, above markings (seam number 2). Step 9 Tie bands Fold tie bands lengthwise, right side in. Trim one end of each at an angle. Stitch along the long edge and the angled end. Trim the seam allowances. Turn the bands right side out and press. Tack the bands to the front edges, between the markings, over the flounce. Step 10 Facing Stitch the shoulder seams of the facing. Press the seam allowance open. Pin the facing right sides together with the blouse, catching the flounces and tie bands. Stitch along front and neck edges. Turn facing forward and up and stitch to seam allowances, close to joining seam. Turn in allowance at bottom ends of facing. Turn facing to inside and sew to hem edge and to shoulder seams. 4

5 Step 11 Sleeves Stitch the sleeve seams, leaving seam open below hem line, to insert elastic. Press seam allowances to inside, turn in again and stitch as marked to form elastic casing. Pull elastic into casings. Sew ends of elastic together to a circumference of ; size 36: 19 cm (7 1/2 in) size 38: 20 cm (8 in) size 40: 21 cm (8 3/8 in) size 42: 22 cm (8 3/4 in) size 44: 23 cm (9 1/8 in) Step 12 Sleeve caps Turn the garment inside out and set in sleeves in each armhole, right sides facing each other, easing sleeve caps.
