He served as GAA Player Welfare Manager from January 2007 and became its Director General in February As a volunteer, he had previously chaired the organisation s Audit, Coaching and Games, and Games Administration committees, as well as completing a five year term as Chairman of Monaghan County Committee. A graduate of the University of Ulster and UCD, and former Principal of St. Macartan's College in Monaghan, Páraic s work as Player Welfare Manager in Croke Park facilitated the publishing of key reports on Player Burnout and the playing of Club Fixtures, as well as initiatives relevant to medical issues within the Association. Jack Anderson, Professor of Law, Queen s University Belfast Jack is a Professor of Law at Queen s University Belfast. Prior to joining the law school at Queen s in 2004, he taught at the University of Limerick. Jack currently teaches on the law of torts, alternative dispute resolution, and sports law. His primary research interest is the relationship between sport and the law. Jack is the editor in chief of the International Sports Law Journal and the author of over 100 peer reviewed articles, international conference papers, and other seminars on the topics of sports law. He has also delivered papers and workshops relating to sports law for Interpol, FIFA, and the International Rugby Board. Jack is a member of a number of sports dispute resolution tribunals such as Sport Resolutions UK; Just Sport Ireland; the FAI s Disciplinary Panel and the Gaelic Athletic Association s Disputes Resolution Authority. Cliodhna Guy, Head of Legal and Compliance, Turf Club Cliodhna is the Head of Legal and Compliance for the Turf Club, based in the Curragh, and is responsible for all legal, regulatory and governance aspects relating to horse racing in Ireland. She was previously Legal Director for the International Boxing Association (AIBA) in Lausanne, Switzerland and Legal Manager for the Football Association of Ireland (FAI). She has over ten years experience in the sports industry, having also worked with the Paralympic Council of Ireland across a number of legal and disciplinary officer roles and as a doping control officer for the International Drug Testing Management (IDTM). Cliodhna has experience on a wide variety of legal, regulatory and commercial matters, including the drafting, negotiating, and reviewing of sponsorship agreements (with brands, media companies and statutory bodies), licenses for intellectual property rights, partnership agreements for specific projects with service providers including IP aspects, drafting of rules and management of disciplinary matters. She holds an LLM in Sports Law from De Montfort University.

He is an experienced adviser on a range of European legal matters to companies, sports organisations, trade associations, public authorities, and media bodies. He regularly acts in cases before the European Commission and pleads before the European Courts. Before starting his own practice, Benoît worked for a number of international law firms in Brussels, London and Paris. He has also appeared as an expert witness on EU law before the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Benoît is the European law contributor to Sports Law Administration and Practice and a member of the Editorial Board of the competition law journal World Competition. Julie O Mahony, Senior Legal Counsel, World Rugby Julie works as senior in-house counsel at World Rugby, the governing and law-making body for the game of rugby union. The organisation is also responsible for the running of tournaments including the Rugby World Cup, Women's Rugby World Cup, World Rugby Sevens Series and Rugby World Cup Sevens. Julie spoke at the Law Society's 2016 Annual Conference, Law in Sport - Sport in Law, on the topics of the Rugby World Cup 2015, broadcast, sponsorship and licensing, brand and rights protection, anti-doping, discipline, rugby investment and bids to host Rugby World Cup She also took part in the EU Sport Forum 2016, which was held in The Hague earlier this year. Ian Lynam, Founding Partner, Northridge Law Ian has wide expertise across corporate, commercial and regulatory matters. He is recognised by the legal directories as a leading commercial dealmaker who has become a clear leader in the UK and an excellent lawyer, whose knowledge of the sports industry is unparalleled. His expertise includes financial regulation of sport (including salary caps and financial fair play), mergers and acquisitions in sport, financing, governance, rules and regulations, sponsorship agreements, transfers, player contracts and image rights. He has a particular expertise in the use of data in sport, has spoken widely on the subject and sits on the board of STATSports as a non-executive director. 3 Dr Ian Blackshaw, Sports Lawyer and Visiting Professor in International Sports Law Professor Ian Blackshaw is an international sports lawyer and a former Vice President Legal Affairs of the ISL Sports Marketing Group, Lucerne, Switzerland. He qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and holds a Master s Degree in International Sports Law and also a Doctor of Law Degree from Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), Chelmsford and Cambridge, United Kingdom, where he is a Visiting Professor. Ian is also a founder member of the ARU International Law Unit. He is a Visiting Professor in International Sports Law at Wolfson College Cambridge and at the University of Staffordshire, and has acted as international consultant on the Sports Law and Practice LLM Programme of De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom. Edward Evans, Partner, Beauchamps Edward is a partner in Beauchamps' corporate law team. He specialises in corporate, regulatory, and sports law. Stuart is the current President of the Law Society of Ireland. He is the solicitor to the Professional Footballers Association of Ireland and in that capacity has acted in a large number of disciplinary matters on behalf of League of Ireland players including anti-doping, gambling and verbal abuse offences. Deirdre Kilroy, Partner, Matheson Deirdre is a partner and head of the Intellectual Property and Technology team at Matheson. She assists a broad range of clients with technology, content/data, outsourcing, ecommerce, data privacy, advertising and intellectual property matters. Deirdre has had articles published on her specialist areas in the national and international press and in specialist legal journals. She is frequently invited to give workshops and lectures to industry groups, clients and students; and has participated in television and radio shows discussing topical issues. In February 2016, Deirdre spoke at the Irish Sponsorship Summit at Croke Park, Dublin, on the topic The Devil is in the Detail; Contract Dos and Don ts. Patrick Conliffe, Registered Football Agent (Intermediary) and Consulting Solicitor Patrick qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and has over seven years experience working in sports law and the sports agency business. He holds a Diploma in Sports Law from De Montfort University and a Diploma in Employment Law from Dublin Business School.

Liam Keane, Principal, Liam Keane & Partners Liam is a solicitor, an Accredited Mediator (Civil & Commercial and Family), and is currently Chairman of the Central Appeals Committee of the GAA. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators - Irish Branch and was the first Secretary of the Disputes Resolution Authority - the GAA's arbitration body. He is also a member of the panel of arbitrators of Just Sport Ireland - the Sports Arbitration body established by the Federation of Irish Sport. Liam has been involved in the GAA all his life as a player with his native Cortown and as an administrator at club, county and national level. Liam is actively involved in coaching with his local club Blackhall Gaels. He was Tour Manager for the GAA Irish International Rules team for their series in Australia in autumn Liam is also on the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland and is an associate of the London based Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He qualified as a solicitor in 2013, were he worked in private practice and then with the European Commission before being called to the Bar in 2016 & the Bar of Northern Ireland in Robert is a co-founder and Secretary of the Sport Law Bar Association of Ireland.
