The Ninth PG&E Supplier Awards Conference an event that celebrates and recognizes the collaboration between PG&E and its prime suppliers was celebrated on October 29th and 30th in San Ramon, CA. This year, four out of eight award winners were Diverse Business Enterprises (DBEs). PG&E s suppliers are an integral part of PG&E s goal of providing safe, affordable, reliable and customer-focused gas and electric service. For this reason, PG&E is dedicated to enhancing our partnerships and recognizing outstanding supplier performance. Throughout September, over 40 supplier nominations were received. Following an extensive process, winners were selected by PG&E Line of Business partners and the Supply Chain leadership team for recognition at the two-day event. The October 29 th awards ceremony was well attended, with more than 200 supplier executives and more than 70 PG&E representatives. It is a huge accomplishment for a supplier to be nominated for an award, let alone win an award, said Gun Shim, Vice President, Supply Chain. These award-winning suppliers performed at a level above their peer companies during a time when PG&E is executing more work than ever. The winners announced at the conference were: Supplier of the Year: INTREN, Inc. Woman-owned Business Green Supplier of the Year: Richard Heath and Associates, Inc. - African American-owned Business Small Business Supplier of the Year: Craig Communications, Inc. - Woman-owned Business Electric Operations Supplier of the Year: INTREN, Inc. Woman-owned Business Gas Operations Supplier of the Year: Underground Construction Company, Inc. Safety Supplier of the Year: Underground Construction Company, Inc. Supplier Diversity Leader of the Year: CH2M Hill, Inc. Corporate Services Supplier of the Year: Slalom Consulting INTREN was named 2014 Supplier of the Year Tracy Craig, CEO of Craig Communications, and 2014 Small Business Supplier of the Year, with Joan Kerr, Director of Supplier Diversity and Sustainability 4 th Targeted Supplier Diversity Matchmaking Event with over 30 DBEs In conjunction with the Ninth PG&E Supplier Conference, the Supplier Diversity Team held its fourth targeted pre- Construction Business Matchmaking event. Over a dozen prime suppliers and over 30 DBEs attended this event. All scheduled appointments between the DBEs and the prime suppliers were arranged prior to the event. DBEs expressed their gratitude to PG&E for the opportunity to meet, in person, with prime suppliers they had tried to make a connection with for some time. The Supplier Diversity and Sustainability Team shared their words of wisdom and best practices with those attending the matchmaking event and thanked the primes for helping PG&E achieve its 2014 diversity goals.

2 PG&E hosts 2 nd Boots to Business Workshop Partners again with the SBA to aid Veteran Entrepreneurs On December 8th, PG&E partnered with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to support veteran entrepreneurs by hosting the second Boots to Business workshop. Boots to Business is an SBA program that introduces transitioning military service members to the fundamentals of small business ownership and educates them on available tools and resources. Over 100 veteran and service-disabled veteranbusiness enterprises (DVBEs) attended the workshop at PG&E s San Francisco office. John Busterud (a recently retired Colonel in the Army Reserve) and Director and Lead Counsel in PG&E s Law Department delivered the welcoming remarks for the workshop, stating, PG&E is very committed to reaching out to service-disabled veteran businesses as an integral part of our Supplier Diversity Program. In addition to learning about what it takes to become a PG&E supplier, attendees received information regarding California Department of General Services certifications for DVBEs and veteran-owned businesses (VOBs). Attendees learned about SBA programs designed for DVBEs and VOBs and how to access investment capital from first and secondary markets. The workshop concluded with a panel, where three PG&E prime suppliers briefed participants on their own supplier diversity programs, and in particular on their targeted efforts to work with DVBEs. NGLCC Recognizes PG&E Supplier Diversity Program On November 21st, PG&E joined corporations and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) owned businesses from across the country at the 12th annual National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce's (NGLCC) National Dinner Awards. This annual event recognizes outstanding diversity and leadership achievements in the LGBT and allied business community. Since its inception, the NGLCC has connected top corporations, LGBT-owned businesses, affiliate chambers, government leaders, and LGBT champions to foster business development opportunities. At this year's event, the NGLCC recognized PG&E and other California corporations that assisted in the passage of California Assembly Bill (AB) 1678, signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown in early PG&E Supplier Diversity Team welcomes over 100 DVBEs to the 2nd Boots to Business Workshop PG&E joined local chamber leadership and other California utilities on the stage for special recognition by the NGLCC September. This landmark legislation adds certified LGBT businesses to General Order 156, asking California public utilities to grant LGBT businesses the same provisions granted to women-owned, ethnic minority-owned, and disabled veteran-owned businesses. PG&E began including LGBT businesses in its Supplier Diversity Program in

3 Small Businesses Forum with Small Business Advocates On December 4 th, PG&E hosted a forum to discuss some of the barriers small businesses face here in California. Attendees broke into smaller groups to address a series of questions related to common barriers encountered by small businesses. PG&E s Vice President of Supply Chain and three Sourcing Directors participated in the in-depth discussions with small business advocates, community leaders, small business experts from the federal and state government and a diverse group of local small business owners. Continued Support for Obama s SupplierPay Initiative On November 17 th, PG&E met in Washington, DC with the White House economic team and U.S. Small Business Administration officials to discuss ongoing efforts to help small businesses under the Obama Administration s SupplierPay Pledge. The initiative, launched by President Obama on July 11th, is designed to encourage large corporations to assist their small business suppliers address financial challenges. PG&E was the first utility and one of the initial 26 companies to sign onto this pledge. As part of this initiative, PG&E is developing several programs to help its small business suppliers facing financial challenges. ASTRA Women s Business Alliance STEAM Summit On November 13th, PG&E teamed with Microsoft in support of the Astra Women s Business Alliance 2014 Inaugural Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Summit. (Currently, women make about 20 percent of the STEAM workforce.) The purpose of the Astra STEAM Summit is to inspire the next generation of women to pursue STEAM careers and ensure their inclusion in the STEAM supply chain. 20 California high-schools girls (grades 8 to 12) worked in teams of five to develop a functional internet application to help girls navigate college applications. PG&E participants judged each team as they pitched their business solution for their developed app. All 20 girls received a share of the $10,000 in scholarship funds and became lifelong members of the Astra Women s Business Alliance. Improving Cyber Security for Small Businesses Workshop On November 13th, as part of its Educational Speaker Series the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) hosted Improving Your Cyber Security Savvy for Better Business Outcomes. The workshop was developed with the understanding that small businesses are susceptible to many of the same cyber threats as larger business and often don t have the same resources that a large business has to protect themselves. At the event, PG&E Supplier Diversity spoke on a panel to small firms representing many different profession and industries about simple tips to protect themselves from cyber-attacks. Joining the PG&E representative were Rand Morimoto, President of Convergent Computing and former Cybersecurity advisor to the White House and Anne O Neill, Principal and Co-founder of Ignyte Marketing Group. Topics covered by the speakers included tips on how to keep websites safe and secure, protecting ecommerce sites, cybersecurity across multiple devices, creating a security policy, and leveraging best in class cybersecurity to better position your business as a vendor. 3
