2 Ambassador Eduardo Medina-Mora in Dallas On November 3rd the Ambassador of Mexico in the United States, Eduardo Medina Mora, visited Dallas. He developed a 3 day program that included various activities aimed to strengthen Mexico's relationship with various stakeholders in North Texas. To welcome Ambassador Medina Mora to Dallas the Consulate hosted a reception with 40 Mexican community leaders from all over the Metroplex and Council Members of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (CCIME). The reception gathered former and current CCIME council members and leaders of different community based organizations of Dallas and Fort Worth. Ambassador Eduardo Medina Mora with community leaders from all over the Metroplex Meeting with the Association of Mexican Entrepreneurs (AEM).- During his meeting with businesspeople from the Association of Mexican Entrepreneurs, the Ambassador spoke of the state and perspectives of the economic relationship between Mexico and the United States. The event had approximately 70 businesspeople from companies like GRUMA, Barcel, Aeromexico, Lala, Taxco Produce among others. Community affairs BULLETIN 1st Forum for Latino Women Entrepreneurs.- Took place on October 26th at the Consulate.

The purpose of the forum was to address women's empowerment in business and encourage latino women to start their own business by sharing the best practices to start and manage a business.

4 Community affairs BULLETIN 1st Forum for Latino Women Entrepreneurs.- Took place on October 26th at the Consulate. This forum organized by the Consulate in partnership with the Association of Business and Professional Women (AMEP) and the Instituto Mujer (Women's Institute). The purpose of the forum was to address women's empowerment in business and encourage latino women to start their own business by sharing the best practices to start and manage a business. Esperanza " Hope" Andrade, former Secretary of State of Texas and current commissioner for Texas Workforce inspired the audience with her personal story and spoke about the challenges she faced as woman to become the first Hispanic to hold the position of Secretary of State in Texas. Irving Mayor, Beth Van Duyne, provided the key note and addressed some of the barriers that women face when they hold leadership positions and shared her strategies to combine her personal live as a mother and head of the City of Irving. The forum featured three panels: the ABCs toward starting a new business; existing resources for opening new businesses and a vision for success: the best practices. The event included a mini expo with the participation of 25 different organizations, banks and Hispanic chambers from around the Metroplex. The list includes the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber, Irving Hispanic Chamber, the Hispanic Chamber Garland, the Southeast Dallas Hispanic Chamber, the Greater Grand Prairie Hispanic Chamber, PROMEXICO, Mexico s Trade Commission and other non for profit organizations such as Acción Texas. 5 Consular Protection "Extraordinary Day of Protection and deferred action on regional event." - On November 9 and 10, was held at the premises of the Consulate "North Texas DREAM Alliance Summit" event that brought together 42 leaders of student organizations dreamers from Houston, El Paso, San Antonio, Austin, Beaumont and McAllen. In the event, students shared their testimonies about the process of deferred action and discussed strategies to ensure that all eligible youth DACA. 7 Hombre! exhibition by José Guadalupe Posada.- On October 17, the Consul General of Mexico in Dallas participated in the opening of the exhibit of engravings by José Guadalupe Posada titled Hombre!, at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, as part of the celebrations of the centennial of his death. The Museum s director, Andrew J.
