2 Joseph Lombardo When faced with tragedies in life, there are some who succumb to the stress, and others who succeed and prevail. Joe Lombardo has proven to be the latter, accomplishing astounding feats despite many rough patches. His journey in real estate started around 15 years ago, when he was working as an X-Ray, Cat Scan and MRI Technician. A doctor noticed his enthusiasm and peopleoriented spirit, and prompted him to look into real estate as a career. He did, and discovered he was a natural. Joe s business-savviness and driven nature resulted in him becoming the Managing Broker of a RE/MAX within his first year of working as an agent. Soon after, he was learning how to invest in properties, purchasing and flipping homes to make a profit. While it was smooth sailing at first, Joe began experiencing a series of unfortunate events, including the loss of two of his homes to Hurricane Sandy and two serious back surgeries. In the middle of it all, he was also getting married and welcoming a new baby into the family. All of these lifechanging moments came one after another, and while it was extremely stressful, Joe managed to maintain and grow his business. Looking back on these past few years and the accomplishments he has made during them, Joe says, Imagine what I can do now without all of these tragedies. Joe is now the owner of Lombardo Homes & Estates, which originally started in Suffolk County, NY and has grown to over 15 offices located on Long Island, and the 5 boroughs of NY. He has realigned his focus to be more on representing sellers than investing and flipping. After the stock market crash, and the growth of his family, he wanted to create a more steady stream of business by becoming a great Broker. On average, he closes around 2-3 deals a week, focusing on the five

3 boroughs of New York City and Long Island. He has listed and sold over 1000 homes in his career, and was ranked in the NY Times among the top 5% of REALTORS in NY. Regularly a guest on FOX, CBS and the local news, he knows a lot about the market and is often sharing his expertise with the community. In the beginning, I worked hard to establish myself by hiring coaches and going to seminars to learn how to be a great listing specialist, Joe explains. Now a bonafide real estate aficionado, he is starting to aim his focus more on luxury properties in Manhattan. He follows a system every day to ensure that he is maintaining his weekly closing averages. Every morning, I get up, and I make ten phone calls to leads. This includes current clients, past clients and new ones, he says. He has a team of people surrounding him that help things run smoothly, including an Executive Assistant, Director of Operations, and showing staff. I am

4 always available by phone for my clients, from 6 AM until I go to bed. My phone is glued to me. And if I don t get back to someone, my team will be on it immediately. I always aim to go above and beyond. Throughout the years, Joe s focus has been on doing what other people aren t doing in the business. That s the formula for success: stand out from the rest, do something that others aren t, go above and beyond, he says. Aside from his devotion to building his business, Joe also involves himself in many causes throughout the community. He is a member of True North Church, and frequently volunteers there. He is also a volunteer at the Rainbow Senior
