Murphy is, Executive Vice President of Douglas Elliman Real Estate Commercial Services Division, a leading full service commercial brokerage firm specializing in corporate real estate services. In 2010, Murphy ranked 5th in the country for commercial GCI business within the Douglas Elliman network of more than 60,000 agents nationally. Michael has an extensive academic background receiving his MBA in International Business from Franklin College, in Lugano Switzerland where he was selected from an elite group of scholars to participate in a one year accelerated program after first receiving his B.A. from CW Post Long Island University, where he played football on scholarship. He has twenty years of personal experience buying and selling investment properties and a long track record of successfully advising clients and negotiating deals. With a focus on Shelter Island and Greenport Peter is now helping his many friends and business contacts to make the best home ownership decisions for both their financial needs and personal enjoyment. Peter has an MBA from NYU and started his career as a trader managing currency risk for a global commercial bank. Later moving into sales Peter managed the customer accounts of some of the largest hedge funds and asset managers in the world, excelling at executing multi-million dollar transactions with a focus on individual clients' risk profile and investment objectives. In his most recent work with financial technology start up firms Peter gained extensive experience managing multiple parties and negotiating to get complex deals closed. He and his wife Kate have been visiting Shelter Island since 2001 and are now fortunate enough to make it their full time home. Peter has been sailing competitively for over 25 years and now crews on Swedish Match 40's in Oyster Bay and with a C&C 35 racing PHRF on Shelter Island.
