3 Stephanie was an event planner and promotions director for an advertising company when she decided to embark on her real estate investing career. Referred by a friend, she found herself at an introduction meeting for this group. She began taking classes and soon after teamed up with 2 other students, to form AVID Solutions. To date Stephanie and her partners have helped over 250 distressed home owners out of foreclosure. Stephanie and AVID Solutions have used the short sales techniques learned from the college to create over $20 million in discounts on mortgages. AVID solutions has been so successful, Stephanie and her partners have been featured in two publications. Stephanie loves what real estate investing has done for her life. Getting her husband Gary involved in the rehabbing side of the business allowed them to create freedoms most families only dream about. I had absolutely no experience with real estate before I attended the college. Today I have an expertise that will take care of me for the rest of my life
4 Steve Nomura brought his family to the United States from Japan in 2000 and found a job managing a Japanese restaurant but always knew that real estate investing was the way to reach his financial goals. In 2006 Steve found his path to that goal after being introduced to this Real Estate Investing Group and enrolled immediately. Steve s biggest challenge wasn't DOING real estate, it was taking online classes in English. Night after night he would come home from work, sit in front of his computer with a translation book and slowly dissect his education word for word. Finally after a year of repeating classes he put his first property under contract. It was a short sale that didn t close. 7 attempts later, Steve profited $2,000 without using his own money or credit. Because of his persistence, Steve was eventually able to quit his job. In 2011 Steve completed 17 of his own transactions and partnered on 6 additional deals with other community members. Following his mentor s advice, this ex-restaurant manager has focused on 4 levels of profit. Wholesaling; Fix & Flip; Buy & Hold; and Money Lending. Steve is very active in his church, having attended seminary school, and qualifying as a minister. I want to do more for youth. Steve has been involved in a non-for-profit organization doing volunteer work to help high school students on the south side of Chicago. I could not even speak English when I came to this country, so I had to work harder than the people who can speak English. 7 Many people hear about Matt and find it hard to believe this is possible at his age. Some of us remember being 25 and barely getting started in life so how is it possible he has achieved so much. The truth about these rentals is that he hasn t needed to use his money or credit on a single deal. You see Matt focused on raising private capital. Matt was able to turn his own investing education into an opportunity to educate others on how they could utilize their retirement funds more effectively joint venturing with him. Some of us will spend our entire lives never getting a handle on self-directing our retirements because we feel we don t have enough information to make sound decisions. Matt took his investing experience and SPLIT every rent check with a private funding partner. It is important that people understand that when Matt started taking classes at the age of 21 he didn't have any resources. That means he had to use his Education as THE resource.
