The bulk of Adrian s work is largely contentious insolvency, international, and fraud related cases. He regularly works with government agencies both here and abroad, and for corporates that have suffered losses from the actions of directors, employees, customers and suppliers. > Adrian Shedden leads the cross-departmental Burges Salmon FinTech practice and is a senior associate in the Burges Salmon fi nancial services team with experience advising fi nancial institutions, high net worth individuals, start-ups and major private and public companies. > David Baxendale is a director in the business recovery services team at PwC LLP and has over 12 years experience in restructuring, corporate recovery and insolvency. He has experience across a wide variety of sectors but most recently has worked with law fi rms and suppliers to the construction sector. > Ian Rodwell is head of client knowledge and learning at Linklaters LLP. He works with a number of the fi rm s key clients globally providing guidance and support on a range of learning and knowledge management issues. Ian is also a faculty member of the Linklaters Law and Business School and part of the fi rm s internal coaching team. > Jamie Leader is a partner in the fi nance group at Eversheds LLP and leads the contentious insolvency practice. He specialises in restructuring and insolvency, with particular emphasis on cross-border and contentious insolvency and fi nancial services restructuring. > John Hawksworth is an economist who specialises in global macroeconomics and public policy issues. He is chief economist at PwC LLP and editor of its Economic Outlook publications. He is also the author of many other reports and articles on macroeconomic and public policy topics and a regular media commentator on these issues. > Martin Chapman is a director and the national lead for restructuring in the education sector at KPMG. Martin undertakes a national oversight and advisory role at KPMG on all work undertaken by restructuring in the sector. > Nick Cropper is a managing director in AlixPartners turnaround and restructuring practice and specialises in corporate recovery. Nick advises key stakeholders and companies in turnaround, restructuring, and recovery situations. > Nick Gavin-Brown is a dual qualifi ed partner specialising in complex fi nancial restructurings in Pinsent Masons. Nick advises boards of directors, lenders, distressed debt investors and insolvency practitioners in relation to debt restructuring, alternative funding arrangements, debt trading and insolvency related issues. > Robin Knight is a managing director in AlixPartners turnaround and restructuring practice. Robin works with clients when they are dealing with communication and brandrelated issues that threaten to adversely affect reputation, revenues and relationships. > Sahar Hashemi OBE is one of UK s most inspirational female entrepreneurs who will share her captivating personal stories of building two famous brands; Coffee Republic, UK s fi rst coffee bar chain, which she and her brother grew to 110 stores and 30m turnover and exited in 2001; and Skinny Candy, the guilt free confectionery brand which she sold to Glisten Plc in > Simon Ridpath is a partner at Charles Russell Speechlys and acts for insolvency practitioners, stakeholders and companies in formal insolvency processes, advising on both contentious and non-contentious matters, including transactional advice. > Steve Davies is a partner in PwC and has worked in retail and commercial banking in the US, the UK and globally for most of his career with PwC. Steve spent ten years in the PwC US network fi rm where he led the national consumer fi nance business. Steve returned to the UK in 2009 and is the UK consulting leader for retail and commercial banking.

Simon Ridpath, Charles Russell Speechlys LLP Further education Further education is an area of great focus for the UK government, as it seeks to improve under perming organisations. Nick and Rob will look at the implications of the area reviews currently underway, and the new special administration regime currently under discussion. Nick Gavin-Brown, Pinsent Masons LLP and Martin Chapman, KPMG LLP Capital Markets Union The European Commission has committed to producing a legislative proposal in relation to European insolvency law during That proposal is likely to include the enforcement of minimum standards for pre-insolvency restructuring procedures across the EU, and could go further to harmonise some elements of Member States insolvency laws.
