3 S ANENNAS 1.2. QUAD FRAME ASSEMBLY: a. A frame consists of four vertical members and three horizontal members. Assemble horizontal and vertical members per Figure 1. Be sure to only finger tighten the bolts holding the frame together until the antenna booms have been tightened to avoid hole alignment problems. b. 4 S ANENNAS 1.3. ANENNA MUNNG AND BRANG a. Four antennas mount to the quad frame through mounting holes shown in Figure 2. For antenna mounting position, refer to Figure 5, page 7-. n staggered quads, the longer booms should be mounted to the bottom of the frame, and the shorter booms to the top of the frame. NE: Be sure all baluns are pointed downward for phase coherence in the array. b. Braces are attached as shown in Figure 2. Braces from the upper two bays come down to the middle horizontal frame member and braces from the lower bays come up to the middle horizontal frame member. c. Step 2: Mount braces to horizontal frame member using 1/4-20 x 1-3/4 bolts, flat washer, lock washer and nut. n some models only one hole will be available to mount both braces to frame. Step 3: Assemble braces to antenna with 1/4-20 x 2-1/4 screw and kep nut. Step 4: nstall the vertical spacing rods through the booms. hese rods should extend app. 1/2 above the upper boom and 1/2 below the lower boom. heck to make sure that the vertical boom spacing is the same at the front and at the end of the array. 4-

5 S ANENNAS NE: ighten all bolts securely. Do not over tighten, as this will compress the clamps and distort the bolts and antenna alignment. Figure 2 5-

Attach the harness such that the two antennas an each side are combined and then the two sides (the harness forms the shape of the letter H ). n staggered quads, attach the longer feed lines to the lower (longer) booms, and the shorter lines to the upper (shorter) booms NSALLAN FR VERSZE MAS (option) a. For oversize mast / tower leg (2, 2-1/2, 3-1/2 and 4-1/2 ) there would be added sixth carton with hardware. For installation see Figure 6.
