Open lower frame bundle #68145; position the lower frames on a flat surface (Diagram V, page 3). Open leg bundle # Some assembly of the component parts has been factory assembled. (Diagram V, Page 3) The two upright posts are identical except for the orientation when the corner block was assembled. Separate and identify their location as shown. Attach the aluminum base pad channel clamp (Ref.#10) to the square base pad (Ref.#1) with two 3/8 X 3/4 carriage bolts and 3/8 hex flange nuts (Detail A). Tighten. Repeat on other base pad. Attach the base pad assembly just assembled to the bottom of the adjustable leg with a 1/2 X 4-1/2 hex bolt and 1/2 hex flange lock nut. Tighten. Repeat on other leg. Slide the lower corner blocks into the lower frames. Secure by placing a 3/8 flat washer on a 3/8 X 4-1/2 hex bolt. Place the bolt down through the lower frame and casting (Detail B, page 4). Secure with a 3/8 hex flange nut. Do not tighten. Repeat procedure with the other two corner blocks (Detail M, page 3). Page 2 REV A 1/25/05

5 Guide Post Assembly SS10621 & SS10621E Assembly Instructions LOWER FRAME AND UPRIGHT POST ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS: STEP 1: STEP 2: STEP 3: STEP 4: STEP 5: STEP 6: Open hardware box #68146 and organize components. Open lower frame bundle #68145; position the lower frames on a flat surface (Diagram I, page 4). Open leg bundle # Some assembly of the component parts has been factory assembled. The winch post leg is longer than the other three corner posts. Separate and identify their location as shown. Attach the aluminum base pad channel clamp (Ref.#10) to the square base pad (Ref.#1) with two 3/8 X 3/4 carriage bolts and 3/8 hex flange nuts (Detail A). Tighten. Repeat on other base pad. Attach the base pad assembly to the bottom of the adjustable leg in the corner post with a 1/2 X 4-1/2 hex bolt and 1/2 hex flange lock nut. Tighten. Repeat on other leg. Position the two corner post legs as shown in Diagram I. Slide the lower corner blocks into the lower frames. Secure by placing a 3/8 flat washer on a 3/8 X 4-1/2 hex bolt. Place the bolt down through the lower frame and casting (Detail B). Secure with a 3/8 hex flange nut. Do not tighten. Repeat the above procedure with the other two corner blocks.tighten all lower frame bolts. Place the round plastic caps into the top of the posts (Detail C, page 4). Page 5 REV A 1/25/05

8 SS10621 Bill of Materials STEP 12: STEP 13: Install the brace tubes (Item #2, Diagram IV, page 8) by inserting a 3/8 X 5 hex bolt through a 3/8 flat washer, then through one end of the brace tube and down through the lower frame. Secure with a 3/8 flange lock nut. Attach the other end of the brace tube to the upright post by inserting a 3/8 X 4-1/2 hex bolt through a 3/8 flat washer. Insert the bolt through the hole provided in the upright post, and then through the end of the brace tube. Secure with a 3/8 hex flange lock nut. Tighten both ends. Repeat on the other brace tube. Secure a pulley assembly to the front cross member by inserting a 3/8 X 1-3/8 X 3-1/4 U-bolt in the hole of the pulley clevis, then inserting it through the holes provided in the front cross member (Detail H & I, pages 6 & 8). S e c u r e t o t h e c r o s s m e m b e r w i t h 3/8 hex flange lock nuts. Tighten until two threads of the U-bolts are exposed through the nuts. Repeat on the other pulley on the other end of the front platform. SS1062 & SS10621 WINCH INSTALLATION: STEP 14: ShoreStation Wheel Assembly Locate the winch and mounting plate (Diagram IV and Detail K, page 8). Attach the winch to the mounting plate using three 3/8 X 1 hex bolts and hex flange lock nuts. Tighten. Attach the top of the mounting plate to the winch post by inserting a 3/8 X 4-1/2 hex bolt through a 3/8 flat washer and then inserting the bolt through the hole provided at the top of the winch post. With the bolt fully inserted, slip the top center hole in the mounting bracket over the bolt and secure in place with a 3/8 flat washer and 3/8 hex flange lock nut. Secure the bottom of the bracket to the post using a 3/8 X 3-7/8 X 4-5/8 round U-bolt, and hex flange lock nuts. Tighten. Page 9 REV A 1/25/05

9 SS1061E Page 11 SS10621E ELECTRIC WINCH INSTALLATION: STEP 14: Locate the electric winch, mounting plate, and clamps in the hardware box (Detail N, page 13). Note that the mounting plate has one hole on the bottom and two on the top. Attach the electric winch to the mounting plate by placing a 3/8 X 1 hex bolt into the hole closest to the center of the bracket and then through the winch case. Secure with a 3/8 hex flange lock nut. Place a 3/8 X 5 hex bolt through a 3/8 flat washer and insert into the top hole in the upright post. Place one of the U-bolt yokes provided on the bolt so that it fits the diameter of the upright post. Slip the winch mounting bracket with winch attached onto the bolt using the top hole of the mounting bracket. Secure with a 3/8 hex flange lock nut. Attach the bottom of the mounting bracket to the post with another 3/8 X 5 bolt, flat washer, U-bolt yoke and hex flange lock nut as described previously. Tighten. Attach the controller arm weldment to the front crossmember with 3/8 X 3-7/16 X 3 square U-bolt and 3/8 hex flange lock nuts. Note that the controller arm can be positioned in or out from the centerline of the hoist to best fit your needs. Place the controller holder in the top of the controller arm. Slip the controller into the holder by feeding the cord into the slot in the holder and then placing the controller into position. Page 10 REV A 1/25/05
