Tributes Mama, It broke my heart to let you go, but I have peace knowing that you are with the Lord. You were my best friend, my mentor, my sister, and most of all my MAMA. Even in your weakest hour, you were thinking about me. You made the decision so I wouldn t have to have any what if s hanging over my head in the days ahead. I thank God for giving you to me 43 years. From you I gained many valuable lessons. You were the best mother in the world. We did everything together. I am going to miss talking to you 100 times a day, asking you how to cook certain foods, your helping me discipline George and Jaylen, your loving care, and most of all your tender touch. I told you on Saturday, that I was going to be ok because you taught me how to be. It amazed me that in your last hour, you were still concerned about me. It didn t surprise me because that is the kind of mom you have always been. The hardest part about today is that you can t dry my tears and help my hurt. You have always been there for me, but now it is time for me to carry the torch without you. I will follow in your footsteps and by doing so, I won t go wrong. You were an exceptional mother. I will always love you and I look forward to the day when we will meet again. Love ya, Kela Mom, When the Almighty God created you Mom, he created you in his image. Mom, you knew my thoughts, feelings, my deepest secrets and my unconditional love for you too. I could have never asked for a wonderful, loving, caring God-fearing lady as you were. You never had anything negative to say about anyone, only good things. I know the way that you raised me and my other siblings; I will instill those values in my children, also. Mom, it broke my heart when you left me, but I know deep down in my heart that if you could come back you wouldn t, you are in a better place and I respect you for that. Mom, I know God has an angel in heaven with Him now and Mom I know in my heart that angel is you. Mom, I love you and miss you very much, but I will see you again one day. Love Always, Edward Mama, You were the only one who didn t fuss about the 6:00 a.m. morning calls. I am going to miss you, but I know that someday we will meet again. My heart is so sad today, but I know that you are with the Lord. I will watch out for my little sister and brother just as you would want me to. I love you and I will see you on the other side. Love, Markus Mama Mama, You Know We Loved You Mama, You Were the Queen of Our Hearts Your Love was Right Here from the Start Mama, We Just Want You to Know Loving You, Was Food to Our Souls! We promise to be the parents that you and daddy were to us. We will keep our family together and we will lean on one another and God to gain strength to make it in the days ahead. Markus, Shekela, and Edward
Tributes Grandma, I was your first grandchild. There has never been a time when I asked you for something and didn t get it. Everyone always said that you and aunt Kela had me spoiled. You were the Greatest. I will miss you, but I promise to carry the Stansberry name as you and granddaddy would have wanted. My heart is broken and I feel so lost without you. I love you. Trevose Grandma, I am sure going to miss you. You were the backbone of our family. You were such a special grandma and there was never a question about your love for your grandchildren. I promise not to worry aunt Kela. I will finish my Degree and make you proud. I could make you so mad, but you still would just talk to me. I love you grandma. Little George Grandma, It seems like just yesterday, you were in Dallas watching me spin around on the coffee table. I am so heartbroken without you. I will miss the times that you would wake me up and make me clean up my room. Because of you, I now do it on my own. I thank you for being such a special grandma. I am going to take care of mama, because I know that is what you would want me to do. Jaylen and I will dry her tears when she cries and we will keep your precious memories alive. I am going to miss you from attending my basketball games. I am really sad because you will not be at my senior basketball night and graduation in May, but I know you will be watching from heaven. Thanks for being the best grandma ever. I love you. Jeffery Grandma, When we first moved to Mississippi, I was so happy because I was going to be at your house forever. I enjoyed the times when you made me coffee and you would always keep ice cream for me and you. You were the best grandma. I could call you and you would always comfort me, especially when mama would get the belt to me. You always put us first, no matter how you were feeling. I am just so lost and sad without you. When you were in the hospital, you knew I was so worried and you told my mama to let you talk to me. The last thing that you told me was to be Sweet, I will never forget you. I know that you will be watching over us. I love you. Love Jaylen, Your Little Jaybird Grandma, I am going to miss coming to your house and playing in your yard. I love you and will never forget you. Love Orlando (Scoot) Grandma, You were the best grandma ever. I remember when I was sick and you came to Grenada to get me. You took care of me and my Auntie said that it was all in your hands. You made me feel so special. You would fix me and Jaylen coffee and we would sit on the front porch with you and drink it, that really made us feel all grown up. I love you and now you are my angel watching over me. Kinterria (nu-nu)
Dear Sweet, In each of our heart, you held a special place. In longing for you now, we know will take some days. We were blessed to have had a sister like you. We are fortunate for the time we spent together too. Our memories of you will always be cherished. Your Sisters and Brothers Cora, My heart is sad and lonely. I will miss you. You were a very strong and special woman. What attracted me to you the most was your love for your children. You sacrificed your time and yourself for so many people. You have truly been a blessing in my Life. We have come to the end of the road and I must let go. I will always love you. Love, Reb Mama, Oh What a Wonderful mother-in-law you were. You always made us feel like a part of the family. We are truly going to miss you. We are especially going to miss the family gatherings at your house. We love you. Terri, Kirk, and Shakinah Mrs. Stansberry, We thank you for taking care of us. You were God sent. We love you and will miss you. George and Lorene Morgan Thank You Mama, When my daddy died, I was only 13. You stepped right in and took me into your home. You treated me just like a daughter. I promised you Friday night that I would make sure that Kela is ok. I will also walk in the same path as you did, you were a God sent Aunt. I know sometimes, I didn t do right, but you never judged me. You were always there for me. I am going to miss you, but I know you are alright now. Love, Lorecia Ann Everyone has a guardian angel. Angels are very much alive and active around us today. Also angels have been sent to do things that we cannot do in our present circumstances. We know God has called another Angel to Heaven. We will truly miss you and rest in peace. Love you, Jeffery A. Jernagin, Sr. Kinterria (nu-nu)
Just Another Chance to Tell You Thank You Thank You for the many times you picked me up on Friday afternoons and accepting me in your home as one of your own. I remember those days as if it was only the yesterdays when Shekela and I use to ride downtown to the big ole city of Carrollton to the sandwich shoppe and on the way back we would stop by the corner store for the famous orange sherbet push-up. But most of all, Thank God for allowing me a chance to know you. I will always love and cherish those memories for the rest of my life. Looking forward to seeing you again, Janel Sweet, my dearest cousin, friend, classmate and partner in crime. We had so many memorable stories that we shared with our family and friends about each other. It s so hard to believe that you are no longer here with me. I miss our talks about hunting for bull frogs and climbing trees to plan our future. Whatever you tried I was right behind you. We had so many good times together, no words can express how much I will miss you, you will forever be in my heart. As a song writer once said If you make it to heaven before I do, save a seat for me. Love your cousin, Salboat A Tribute To The One We Love Cora life s been great, we know she have savored much, good times, good friends, loving family s touch. Perhaps Cora s time seemed all too brief. We will not lengthen it now with undue grief. We will lift up our hearts and share with her, God has called her now. Cora, we all thank you for the love you have shown each of us. But now it s time you must travel alone. When we must come your way alone, we know you will greet us with a smile, a hug, and a, Welcome Home. THE CLASS of 1963 Going Home Sweet, you are on your way home. No longer on this earth, will you roam You will be missed by your family and friends But God had to say so at the very end You were loved by a lot of us Even though sometimes you liked to fuss We are going to miss you so very much We will no longer feel your loving touch So go on and take your rest For God knows what is best! Kim
From Mama When Tomorrow Starts Without me and I m not there to see; If the sun should rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn t cry, the way you did today, While thinking of the many things, we didn t get to say. I know how much you love me, as mush as I love you, And each time that you think of me, I know you ll miss me too; But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand, And said my place was ready, in heaven far above, And that I d leave behind all those I dearly love. I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad, I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, just even for awhile, I d say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile. So when tomorrow starts without me, don t think we re apart, For every time you think of me, I m right here in your heart. To My Children I have traveled the road with you and now you must go on your own. Remember the lessons that I taught you and you won t go wrong. I didn t go away, I will always be in your hearts. Ain t It Sweet to Know, One Day We ll Meet

My Thanks to You I am so grateful to my many friends, family members, churches and pastors, and communities who gave donations for gas or food, visited us in the hospital, prayed for and with us, called and gave comforting words, or just thought about me while I stayed with mama in the hospital in Jackson. You showed me the true meaning of love and friendship. There will never be enough words to express my sincere appreciation for your acts of kindness. Mama always said You know your friends when you get down. I ask that you continue to pray for me and my family as we face the days ahead. I love each of you! Shekela Stansberry Jones Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair, Perhaps you sent a floral spray, if so, we saw it there, Perhaps you sent a bit of food or let us use your car, Perhaps it was a call you made from nearby or afar. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words as any friend could say, Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts we thank you so much whatever the part.
