Happy 2014 to my friends! Are you starting this year without a special loved one who has died? Here s something to empower you. FEEL. Be still for a few moments.breathe. Go within your heart to feel connected with your loved one. ASK. What do you want for me to experience this coming year? 2014 In this heart draw a picture of what your loved one wants for you.
Hi Kids! It s back-to-school time! I hope you had a great summer. It s fun to catch up with your friends again! Yet you might discover one of your friends feels dragged down because of a pet or relative who died over the summer. Kids Grief Relief 2012 If so, start your school year by practicing Compassion. Your friend will really appreciate it. CLICK HERE FOR A REMINDER ABOUT WORDS OF COMPASSION.
Are you feeling dragged-down today? Hi Kids! How about drawing a picture of you and your special person in the heart below? Remember: Even though has gone away The Love inside your heart will stay! 2012 Kids' Grief Relief
Hi Kids! One magical way to help yourself when you feel dragged-down, is to change what you re thinking. 1. Catch yourself when you have dragged-down thoughts like: Nothing feels right anymore. I can t figure out what to do Decide to think something else. I like thinking about all the things Darvy liked about me. Darvy said I was a good listener. He told me I was fun to be with. He even said I was the cutest dragonfly he ever saw! I feel good when I think those thoughts. Think about what your special loved one really liked about you. Write those thoughts in the clouds below. KidsGriefRelief 2012 I bet you re smiling now. Good for you!
Hi Kids! Do you have a friend or relative who is grieving over the death of a loved one? You can practice COMPASSION for them! Compassion comes from your loving heart. It s a warm feeling of understanding that someone is hurting. You show compassion when you take the time to listen to someone tell about their hurt- without thinking that there s something wrong. Just listening with a loving heart- helps! In the frame to the right, draw a picture of yourself with someone who could use some COMPASSION. Then draw a heart around the two of you! 2012 Kids Grief Relief
Hi Kids! Here s a picture of my good friend, Christina. She is holding a jar with the ashes of her best dog-friend Emrys. She chose to cremate him after he died. Do you know what it means to be cremated? When a person or pet dies, the body can be turned into ashes. No one feels any pain. The people who loved the pet or person can keep the ashes. Sometimes people choose to sprinkle the ashes in special places. Christina did. If you want to know more about Christina and Emrys, read For the Love of Emrys. Here s a beautiful jar for you to decorate. You can pretend it s Christina s jar of Emrys ashes, or you can pretend it s a jar with the ashes of someone else who was cremated. 2012KidsGriefRelief
It s Okay To Have A Dragged-Down-Day! Hi Kids! Even though it s been weeks, months, or even years since you lost a loved one (person or pet) you might have a dragged-down-day when you feel really sad and upset, and even cry a lot. That s normal! Missing someone you love is part of life. Draw a picture of your Dragged-Down self in this box below. You will feel better again. Your Inner Power of Love will remind you how wonderful you are, and encourage you to think loving thoughts about your life! 2012KidsGriefRelief You have lots and lots of days to feel like you re flying!
Hi Kids! Looks like it s holiday time for many of you earthlings. Yet, you might be feeling sad. Are you missing a loved one who has died so you can t spend the holidays with them? In the large heart below, write down the names of all the people and pets who you will be spending time with this holiday season. In the smaller heart, write down the name of your special one who died. You have lots of LOVE to share this holiday season with all the people you listed in the large heart! And you still share LOVE with your special one. Not in the same way, of course. Remember: Inside your heart will always be a special place for your loved one. Have a happy holiday!
Hi Kids! Are you feeling dragged-down because someone you love has died and can t celebrate Thanksgiving with you? You CAN lift your wings and feel better. How? By filling in the card below, saying thank you to your special loved-one for all the wonderful memories you have of them. Cut out the card and bring it with you on Thanksgiving Day to read aloud at your table. Dear, Thank you for. I miss you and love you. Love, KidsGriefRelief2012
Hi Kids! Here s an idea if you re feeling upset and sad about the death of your special loved one. You might be thinking: I feel very sad right now. I wish never died. NOW- take a few, slow deep breaths...and a few more... The Magic in breathing is that as you think about your breath, you can clear some of your emotions, like sadness and worry. TRY IT! NEXT- Pretend this is a mirror. Call it your I Am Mirror. I am Say something wonderful about yourself by speaking aloud, saying I am into the mirror. You will feel better! 2012Kids GriefRelief
Hi Kids! HAPPY VALENTINE S DAY! Here s a clock to remind you there is never a time when you can t LOVE the people and pets who have died. On this clock, write the names or draw pictures of everyone you LOVE including the ones who have died. Say these words aloud t0 discover just how powerful Love is! The Power of LOVE is always mine I share this LOVE all the time! 2012KidsGriefRelief
Hi kids! Today I m thinking about my best friend, Darvy the earth dragonfly. He suddenly died one day while we were playing together. I thought I d share these thoughts with you... I wonder what other adventures we could have had together. I try to remember that he is happy in dragonfly heaven. I understand why he died, though I don t like it. I want to always remember how he made me laugh. I learned a lot about myself after he died. I am a mystical, magical dragonfly who misses my best friend so much! What are you thinking? Fill in the rest of the sentences below, with YOUR thoughts. Then share with a friend or family member. I wonder. I try. I understand. I want. I learned. I am. Kids Grief Relief 2012
Hi Kids! Doesn t it feel good to honor a loved one who has died like bringing flowers to their grave site or creating a special rememberance? Don t forget to honor yourself when you r grieving. It s just as important! Here s how I honor myself: I keep my thoughts positive because positive, loving thoughts keep me flying! ( I LOVE to Fly) I make good choices for myself, like choosing friends who listen to me and like me for who I am. HOW DO YOU HONOR YOURSELF? Share your ideas with a friend or family member. Kids Grief Relief 2012
Here s a picture of Christina spreading the ashes of her beloved dog, Emrys, who was Christina s best friend. (Can you can find me in the picture?) Hi Kids! She was feeling grateful for all the fun times she had with him. When you feel grateful, your heart is open. An open heart is a loving heart, and love always feels better. So if you would like to feel better about the loss of someone whom you loved a pet or a person think about all the great times you shared. I know you will feel better! Kids Grief Relief 2012

Are you feeling dragged-down today? Hi Kids! How about drawing a picture of you and your special person in the heart below? Remember: Even though has gone away The Love inside your heart will stay! 2012 Kids' Grief Relief
MagicalPlanetLLC 2011
Last time I asked you to draw a picture of yourself with someone you know who is grieving.. That was a picture of you practicing Compassion by listening with your heart. Hi Kids! Now you re ready for the next part Speaking words of Compassion. Words of compassion come from your heart. It s telling someone you understand they are going through a challenging time. Even though you may not know exactly what they are feeling, you let them know that you care by saying words like: I m sorry to hear about the death of. You must miss him/her alot. I know you feel really sad about dying. It s okay to feel sad. Your loved you alot. I know you re going to miss him/her.i bet you have lots of great memories about him/her. What are some words of compassion you can say to someone who is grieving? Write them in the heart Kids' Grief Relief
Hi Kids! Do you know what a memory is? It s something you think about that has already happened. What do you remember about your special someone? In the box below, draw or write about a fun time you remember. You can look at it over and over again to feel close to your special someone, even though you cannot see them anymore. MY FUN MEMORY 2012 Kids' Grief Relief
In the story For the Love of Emrys, Christina was sad and upset about the death of her beloved pet dog. She will always miss him. Hi Kids! Yet, I shared an idea with her that really helped. She s sharing that same idea with you today. Thanks Christina! Hi friends! You have the power to choose to feel love! Although lots of things will change as you grow up (even you), the one thing that won t change is the love in your heart. It will be in you forever! It s your greatest strength! Mystie and I would like you to try this: Think about all the things you LOVE about yourself. Next think about all the things you LOVE about your family... your friends... your school... your community... You are a POWERUL KID! Kids GriefRelief 2013
Hi Kids! This is my friend Christina. She s holding a picture of her pet dog Emrys, who died. She s also holding his bandana, which she saved, to remind her of him. What special things do you have to remind yourself about your special someone who died? Make a list: Can you share some of those things with a new friend? It feels good to share memories. Then ask your friend if he/she has something to share with you. Kids GriefRelief 2012
Hi Kids! Are you feeling dragged-down because someone you love has died and won t be spending Thanksgiving Day with you? You can lift your wings and feel better! Fill out the card below, saying Thank you to to your special loved one for all the wonderful memories you have of him/her. Cut out the card and bring it to your Thanksgiving dinner. You may want to read it aloud at the table. Dear, Thank you for. I miss you and love you forever! 2013KidsGriefRelief
Hi Kids. One way to empower yourself when you re feeling dragged down is to put your I am first in your thinking. Your I am thought should be a positive statement about you. Now choose an action that matches your positive statement. For example: I am happy. I choose to listen to my favorite music. I am calm. I choose to read something I like. Now try your own ideas, then go ahead and do something. I am. I choose to. I am. I choose to. I am. I choose to. Good For YOU! Kids Grief Relief 2013
Hi Kids! When someone you love has died, there are changes in your life. List some of those changes below. Now list some things that haven t changed since the death of your special someone. Can you share your lists with someone you trust? I know you ll feel better. Kids Grief Relief 2013 The Love inside your heart is with you forever.
