2 Do you know the Area? Colington vs. Kill Devil Hills Westside Just like knowing the elusive school lines, trying to figure out what area some listings are in can be just as tricky. The area doesn t always match the city and it is the REALTOR S responsibility of due diligence to make sure that everything is correct when inputting a listing. According to our listing audits, the most commonly mislabeled area is Colington. This probably does not come as a surprise to many of you. We know that Watersedge is definitely in the Colington area (143). We also know that anything on the other side of the bypass is definitely in the Kill Devil Hills Westside area (130). We even know that Colington Harbour is Colington Harbour (141). But what about those few neighborhoods in the middle? What about Devonshire Place or Baum Bay Harbor? What about First Street? While some areas are obvious there are more neighborhoods than you think that are NOT in the area you assumed. Where is that imaginary line that determines an area as Colington (143) or Kill Devil Hills Westside (130)? Shouldn t the answer be obvious through the Dare County Property Tax Search page? Unfortunately the answer is NO. Fortunately, OBAR has the answer!

5 Listing Colington vs KDH Westside, do you know where the lines are? Most areas are obviously Colington (143) or Kill Devil Hills Westside (130). However it get s VERY confusing in the areas of Baum Bay Harbor and First Street. W. First Street Baum Bay Harbor Bermuda Bay Blvd

8 How are they listed in the Dare County tax records? 1. Colington The Dare County tax records have 3 tax districts in this area (yes THREE). 2. Kill Devil Hills OUT 3. Kill Devil Hills (west of the bypass)
