1 *please note - schedule subject to change DAY ONE: Horses should arrive by noon; riders get basic set up done. 1pm: Introduction Stable Manager and Task Force Representative 1. Welcome Riders Introduce Stable Manager, Task Force Representative and Host(s). Gift bags presented, Day Two groups assigned. 2. Horsemanship, teamwork, and sportsmanship expectations discussed. 3. Overview of stable management, general description of what basic stable management entails as well as show barn management. 4. Explain expectations of stable manager concerning horse care, tack care, stabling area presentation, teamwork. 5. Finish stable set-up. Review proper stall set-up. 6. Grooming practical: Stable Manager demonstrates proper grooming techniques and tack cleaning procedures. Groups then disburse to get all horses groomed and tack cleaned. 7. Presentation of horses in full tack: Stable Manager will check each horse for proper tack and boot (if any) fit. Discuss any changes that may be necessary prior to riding. 8. If time allows, Stable Manager, Task Force Representative and Host may assign light riding or lunging. 5pm: Evening Feed and Stable Chores Review Day Two schedule. Review Day Two group assignments. Assign night check duties. 8:30 pm: Night Check 1
2 DAY TWO: 8-9am: Review stable management topics for the day, review Day Two group Riding Theory by Clinician 9:15-11:00am: Flatwork with Clinician (Group #1) Stable Management with Stable Manager (Group #2) 11:00am-12:45pm: Flatwork with Clinician (Group #2) Stable Management with Stable Manager (Group #3) 12:45pm-1:45pm All groups help put Group #2 horses away 1:45-3:30pm: Flatwork with Clinician (Group #3) Stable Management with Stable Manager (Group #1) 4:00-4:30pm: 4:30-5:30pm: 5:30-6:00pm: 6-6:30pm: All groups set jumps for Day Three Specialist Presentation Pizza Party Day Three groups assigned and Day Three schedule reviewed 2
