All ticket stubs and money are due Nov 30 th. She will have someone from her job pull the winning ticket. Thank you to the members for participating. Proceeds are 20% trophy fund and the balance to our working fund.

Specialties 2014 Memorial Weekend Cluster (May 23 May 27) Memorial Weekend Classic 2014 Plans are underway for next year.

George reports that all required paperwork has been filed with ISCA and AKC for approval. Sweeps Judges are in place. The judging panel has been announced.. The grounds have been reserved. The dates for hospitality have been secured. Trophies have been decided and are in the process of completing. We need to decide on the raffle item so we can get that purchased and tickets printed. Proceeds will help cover costs of the specialties. Ideas? Let us know. ISCA National Specialty 2014 June 10 14, Sawmill Creek Resort & Conference Center, Sandusky/Huron OH. Details are at From the Rescue Side ~~~~ Hi Everyone, We have been so busy with Holiday plans even I haven't had time to write in my column. Mom has been very in the holiday spirit and we have Christmas crafts going in all rooms. Up high of course since Abbey is interested in EVERYTHING. Also, we have been decorating and with every big plastic container Mom opens Abbey loses her mind just a little bit more. All the glitter and textures and colors have her in a bit of a tizzy. So Mom has been decorating a little at a time so Abbey can adjust. We are on a bit of a "no table food" deal as Abbey is learning not to bother people when they eat. So far she is learning pretty well. We are getting a few more dog treats and I did hear talk of Mom's new "Dog Treat Maker." You put the batter in the hot press. There are two shapes: a circle with a dog paw and a dog bone. As you can image, I'm quite interested in being the tester on that project. We hope this column finds everyone in the holiday spirit this year. We are enjoying it here in Baltimore. Also, hope everyone likes our "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas." With all of the new members and photos received, Deb apologizes for being behind on getting the website updated. She promises to get caught up soon. Renewals are due by January 31, Hospitality Fee - With so many new members since our May meeting, we need to explain this fee. Each year at our specialties, each member is asked to bring a side, salad, dessert for each of our 2 days of hospitality. Our members used to handle all of the hospitality each year. Last year we hired a caterer to make out main entrée. That went very well. It has been very difficult to have refrigeration, storage, cooking areas and preparing the donated portion of the meals. Joan has hauled an extra refrigerator, trips daily for ice and the need to run out to a store has been part of our preparations. Most of the show committee goes to the site on Wednesday and stays all weekend to help with all the things we have going on. At our member meeting held at the show, with 22 voting members present, a unanimous vote to have the caterer handle all the food but the beverages and desserts took place. Hospitality Chair, Shirley Semich, had brought the information from the caterer and presented that option. A fee of $25 per household was agreed upon and it will cover BOTH days. This is normally less than one would spend to prepare and bring something along. It was then decided to add this into our Member renewal notice so we know what we have totaled when Shirley sits down and does the menu with the Caterer. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact President Bob Semich. Thanksgiving Dinner Meeting Thank you to Bob and Shirley Semich for having us at their home. Our annual dinner is always a nice and relaxing way to start off the holiday season. The meeting was kept brief so everyone could sit and visit. Christmas party Meeting will be on Sunday January 12 th, 1:00 p.m. at the home of Skip and Deb Lawrence. We will do our optional gift exchange. A menu will be decided later.
