15 A Fantastic Usage of the Shanghai Local Post Stamps on a Redirected Cover from Constantinople (15 July) registered envelope ( Ambasciata d Italia embossed imprint on flap) to the Italian Minister in China at Shanghai (24.8) redirected to Chefoo bearing British Levant 80pa. on 5d. from the foot of the sheet, cancelled by two strikes of British Post Office/Constantinople c.d.s., showing R in circle and R in oval alongside, with oval Sea Post Office Registration 81, and on reverse Sea Post Office/B (30.7), Tuticorin (7.8), Colombo (8.8), Hong Kong (20.8) and Shanghai British P.O. (24.8) transit c.d.s., transferred to the Shanghai Local Post and forwarded with c. brown and 5c. blue cancelled by Shanghai/Local Post/H c.d.s. in blue (24.8), having been sent onwards to Chefoo following the application of the maldirigé h.s. A great Local Post rarity with this issue used commercially, very fine and wonderfully fresh.
