5 List resources you used to learn more about your project. Include books, people, Internet, bulletins. County and Cluster workshops, Pintrest for inspiration, Coats and Clark Sewing Guide Book Describe the life skills you have learned /practiced in this project under each H of the 4-H Clover. HEAD (managing and decision making): I learned how to better manage time with each project and to make realistic decisions based on my skill set and the time allotted for each project. I picked projects that I could manage to complete, and fabrics that I was already comfortable working with in order to try more challenging techniques. HEART (relating and caring): I taught members of the club how to knit and crochet hats in order to donate our projects to a local children s hospital. HANDS (giving and working): By giving my time to work with younger members on their projects I strengthened my own skill set and gave them the tools they needed to complete their first outfit. HEALTH (living and being): This year I started working with wool and hemp which are natural fibers. I hope to one day spin my own yarn and make green textiles to sew with. This project was... challenging but rewarding. I pushed myself farther this year than in the past and found that I was able to meet each challenge head on. This project has encouraged me to... pursue green and eco-friendly textiles. Supplemental Materials/Creative Time should be attached to your Record Sheet. Developed by L. Martin Hamilton Alice Hevner Mary Ellen Waltemire Issued in furtherance of Cooperative Extension work, acts of May 8 and June 30, 1914, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, University of Maryland, College Park, and local governments.
