2 Sample Fashion Show Write-Up s ****If possible the Narrative to Stanton-county@unl.edu**** Here comes Patrick Pattern with his pillow he made for his Sewing For Fun project. He had an easy time choosing the fabric, once he found this puppy and kitten material. A solid black material coordinates with green print. This is Patrick s first year in 4-H and he is enjoying all his projects. Patrick loves to ride the four-wheeler or his bicycle, camp and roller blade. Shelly Seams is a new 4-H member and is enjoying a variety of projects this year. She chose a light pink polyester-cotton blend fabric for the pull on skirt and top she made. She was pleased with her sewing and thought the material brings out her blue eyes. Shelly is involved in soccer, basketball, swimming and dance. She will be in the 6th grade at the XYZ Middle School this fall. Nicole Needle is ready for the cool fall weather in the gray and black cape she made for Clothing Level 1. Nicole s cape is made of cotton polyester fleece fabric. It features a front opening and an attached hood with drawstring tie. Sleeve holes are made by stitching together the lower edge of the cape. Nicole plans to wear her cape when dressing up for activities at church and school. Carrie Consumer is modeling the outfit she bought for the Attention Shoppers 4-H project. Carrie needed an outfit to add to her wardrobe that she could wear when going out. She chose off white jeans and a maroon sweater. Both pieces are made of 100% cotton and are machine washable. Carrie s outfit will be a useful addition to her wardrobe as she goes back to school this fall. Sara Salute is coming in her patriotic shirt and hat. This is her first year in the Decorate Your Duds project. She chose to accent her shirt and hat with red, white and blue stars trimmed in gold paint. This outfit will be a nice addition to her wardrobe. Sara will be in the 4th grade at XYZ Elementary this fall. Wanda Wisemoney couldn t wait to get into the project Shopping in Style. Shopping is one of her favorite past times. Her khaki wide leg pants was a new purchase this summer and the white Tommy shirt was purchased early this spring on sale. Hunting for name brand clothing on sale is one of Wanda s favorite things to do. Betty Backstitch is a student at XYZ Elementary. She enjoys playing basketball, softball, volleyball and riding her horse. Becky chose a flowered print to make her simple straight skirt with a ruffle at the bottom and an elastic waist. When Becky is not working on her sewing project you can find her drawing on at art project. Thelma Thimble of ABC Town decided to make a pair of elastic waist capri pants and a matching top to wear to school this fall. She liked the side slit in the capri leg hem and looked for a pattern to help her accomplish that. She chose a solid green background fabric for the pants and found a coordinating fabric with jewel colored stars for the top. Thelma will be wearing this to the first day of 5 th grade this fall.
