1 C-DAC Pune Digital India Activities carried out at C-DAC DAY-6 (06/07/2015) Highlights C-DAC Pune arranged Day-6 programme which has been attended by around 80 members participated from: Modern Education Society's College of Engineering (MESCOE) Wadia, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and National Informatics Centre (NIC), Pune Digital India week awareness program started at 1430 hrs with a video of the recorded clipping of Hon ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi s speech at the launch of Digital India Week at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi. Chief Guest Dr. Hemant Darbari, Executive Director, C-DAC, Pune welcomed the guests and explained about the applications of the supercomputer and urged the young generation about using technology for common man. Mr. Punit Malik, C-DAC, Pune explained the intricacies involved behind the idea and implementation of e-hastakshar (Online Digital Signing Service). Mr. Ashish Kuvelkar, Associate Director, ESHP, C-DAC talked about Digital future How CDAC is shaping it for Indians. He explained the vision of Digital India and elaborated about C-DAC s contributions in various areas. The program ended with a movie on PARAM-YUVA (High Performance Computer) followed by question and answer session with the students which were answered by Mr. Manish Kumar of the Param Yuva team.

3 C-DAC Mumbai One hour session on Digital India initiatives and C-DAC Mumbai's ongoing projects, products and services related to Digital India like e-sangam (NSDG), Mobile Seva (MSDG), e-pramaan, mention of Digital Locker features, Aadhar authentication ecosystem, Sampark, Biometrics R & D Lab for UIDAI and Text to speech system was presented by Dr. Urja Vora, Principal Technical Officer from C-DAC Mumbai to the IT students of Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SVIT), Andheri (W). egovernance film was also show to these students. Digital India products were displayed on the display board of SVIT to cause awareness among the students of SVIT. Photographs and video link of the session at SVIT C-DAC Hyderabad MOU Signing between C-DAC & Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya (SCSVMV) University, Kanchipuram As part of Digital India Week (DIW) 2015, an MoU was signed between C-DAC and Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya (SCSVMV) University in Kanchipuram on July 06, The MOU was signed to launch post graduate and research programs in the areas of ESDM and other areas of mutual interest in the domain of ICTE for the benefit of Students, Scientists and Faculty. C-DAC Hyderabad is working closely with academic & research organizations, industry, etc., for designing & launching several formal and non-formal courses starting from certificate level to Post Graduate level and also undertake research to meet the human resource requirement as part of its efforts to spur the growth of Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector.

4 DIW Talk on Mobile Application Development at C-DAC (Ameerpet) As part of Digital India Week (DIW) 2015, a talk on Mobile Application Development was organized for the benefit of students community. Topics included mobile platforms, android framework, android studio, apps testing & deployment with a special focus on Digital India Initiatives and developing localized mobile apps in Indian languages. Students who have come from outside showed interest to know more about Digital India Initiatives. Members from C-DAC explained various digital India Initiatives undertaken by C-DAC including M-Governance and Mobile Apps Store.

5 C-DAC Noida C-DAC Noida organized an Expert talk on the topic "IT for Transformation of Healthcare in Digital India" by Mr. S. Ramakrishnan, former Director General, C-DAC. The talk was attended by more than hundred members. The expert talk was followed by a Quiz Competition on Digital India for all the C-DAC, Noida employees. Four teams were randomly decided on the spot by the organizing committee. The Quiz consisted of four rounds covering the nine pillars of the Digital India Programme, inauguration function (invitees, speeches, awards etc), various Products / Portals/Apps launched etc. Dr.B.K.Murthy, Executive Director also posed questions related to C-DAC products across centres to the audience. Expert Talk and Concluding Session of Digital India Week - 7th July 2015 An Expert talk on the topic Challenges and issues in ICT induction" by Dr. Mahesh Chandra, DDG, National Informatics Center was organized. More than 100 employees of C-DAC, Noida attended the session. The Employees were enriched by the experiences shared by Dr Chandra in his informative speech.

6 Dr Chandra discussed the challenges and issues in handling roll out of Nation-wide e- Governance projects. Sh.V.B.Taneja, Director (Academics & Research) concluded the Digital India week celebrations. C-DAC, Thiruvananthapuram A Quiz competition was organised on 6 th July, in connection with the Digital India Week. Theme of the competition was Information and Communication technologies. 10 teams participated in the competition. The first three teams were presented cash awards and certificates. The next three teams were presented with mementoes and consolation certificates. All other teams were given Certificate of participation.

7 C-DAC, Silchar C-DAC Silchar organized an awareness program on Digital India Week followed by a hand-on session conducted for 150 students of Barak Valley Public High School, Fakirtilla, Sichar. C-DAC Kolkata Report on Activities carried out in CDAC, Kolkata on 6/7/2015 on account of DIW Celebration A Press Meet was organized at Press Club, Kolkata on 6/7/2015 at 3:00 PM to brief Press about Digital India Celebration in CDAC, and CDAC, Kolkata in particular. The Press meet was attended by more than 45, news representative from various news & television channels. Col. Asheet Kumar Nath, Executive Director gave an overview of the activities CDAC. He then proceeded to give a presentation on the activities of CDAC, Kolkata. On completion of the presentation there was extensive queries from various reporters which was systematically replied by Executive Director and his team present at the venue. A press release on the occasion in English and Hindi was circulated among the reporters.

8 Event conducted Jointly by CDAC and Bidhannagar Police Department, Govt. of West Bengal, on 6 th July 2015 in connection with Digital India Week Celebration On behalf of Bidhannagar City Police : Shri. Jawed Shamim, IPS Commissioner welcomed everyone and addressed the gathering of important representatives from several Institutes and Offices of Bidhannagar..DGP West Bengal, Shri. G M Prabhu Rajasekhar Reddy, IPS formally released the bi-lingual (English and

9 Bengali)awareness guide-book prepared by CDAC Kolkata (ICT &Services Group) on Cyber Safety in the event organised in Digital India week at an auditorium near City Centre, Bidhannagar, Kolkata. Airtel was a partner in the event. Col A.K.Nath Executive Director,CDAC Kolkata explained the importance of such awareness campaigns and compared it with preventive health practices of age-old origins like Yoga. Discussion organized by Govt. of West Bengal on 6 th July 2015 in connection with Digital India Week Celebration A day-long programme of quiz/debate and presentations by several organisations and IT experts of West Bengal at Sisir Mitra Hall in WEBEL BHAVAN was organised by Department of Information Technology and Electronics to celebrate Digital India Week. In this event,sr. officials namely Sri, S.Kishor, Principal Secretary Govt.ofW.B., Sri, Pradip Chopra, DeitY, Dr. Amit Chaudhuri C-DAC,Kolkata, Sri, P.K.Pramanik NIC, Sri, Tarun Kar CMC and others explained the significance of the celebration and discussed respective roles in taking ahead the mission in West Bengal. C-DAC Bangalore Industrial Visit

10 Students and faculty from PMC-Tech, Hosur, TamilNadu visited CTSF (Center for Tera flop Supercomputing facility) C-DAC Knowledge Park. This program was conducted as a part of Digital Week India Mr P S Soundarajan, Senior Technical officer, explained the architecture and technical details of PARAM supercomputer. Technical presentation Technical presentation on Network Security solutions and products was delivered by Mr Dittin Andrews. He explained about various security products like CHAKRA, Intrusion Detection Systems etc, Awareness program conducted on Public key infrastructure and Digital Signature by Dr. R Balaji. The objective of this program was to promote awareness about digital signatures and the public key infrastructure ecosystem and the emerging applications of it. The topics that covered in this program are: Basics of Digital Signatures, Hierarchical Trust model in India and understanding e-sign/e-hastakshar.

11 "Digital Week Workshop on July 6, 2015 regarding Lab kits" The workshop included presentation and demo of 4 lab kits namely Cloud, SCADA, Augmented Reality and WSN Motes. The speakers were Senthil, Tulasi Dwarakanath, Utkarsh, Kalasagar and their team. The workshop also included a brief session by RVCE (the users of SCADA Lab Kit) giving their honest feedback on their experience with the LabKits and later by few of the participants expressing their interest in procuring one for their college. The workshop was attended by 40 members from over 12 engineering colleges and 2 industries. The workshop was organized and conducted by Shri G L Ganga Prasad and Ms Savitha Gowda.
