6 About Snow and Graham Letterpress products Snow and Graham offers products that combine fine art and contemporary design with sheer practicality of purpose. Intended to evoke traditional social graces and the oft-forgotten practice of written communiqué, Snow and Graham s functional art objects include a full range of paper novelties, letterpress cards for all occasions, gift wraps, candles, and coasters. Based in Chicago, all of Snow and Graham s products are designed and produced in the U.S. and conjure a sense of retro romanticism imbued with a thoroughly modern sensibility. A pioneer in the recent rebirth of the letterpress printing process, Snow and Graham was launched in 1998 by Ebony Snow Hurr and an art-school friend as a design studio whose vision was to imbue the traditional realms of surface design with a light, airy touch. Snow Hurr is now the sole owner and driving creative force behind the business and continues to infuse modern designs with the finest-quality papers and other materials, often utilizing the tenets of fine art letterpress printing. This process allows for the purest qualities of each method to be revealed, producing memorable and functional creations that are always on point for the occasion. About Ebony Snow Hurr: Snow and Graham s owner and founder is Ebony Snow Hurr, former sculpture student at the Illinois Art Institute and occasional designer for Herman Miller. She considers herself a cultivator of images and her retro yet contemporary aesthetic is informed by her love of anything 3D, tactile, and sculptural. This love of vibrant colors and touchable objects began in childhood when she chose fluorescent paint and magazine cutouts to adorn her bedroom walls. Snow Hurr comes from a long line of artistic lady-entrepreneurs her mother is an art director, her aunt founded one of the first yoga clothing companies in existence, and her grandmother had a strong creative bent combined with a knack for business. As an artist and businesswoman, Snow Hurr works to share her appreciation of tactile sensory pleasures, a quality that shines through in Snow and Graham s elegant objects.
