1 Presentation 13 September 2007 Expo Secretariat /jus-ebst The Expo world exhibition 2008 will take place in Spain in the Northeast city of Zaragoza. Denmark will be well represented with a unique pavilion designed by Spektrum Architects. The main theme for the world exhibition is Water and sustainable development, and leaves Denmark with an advantage, since this is an area in which the Danish Industry has strong competences. A participation in the Expo gives an extraordinary opportunity to communicate the high level of Danish sustainable energy and development. Furthermore the Danish pavilion provides the possibility to promote other aspects of the actual Danish commerce. Feel the rush of wind; see the diversion of light; inhale the scent of pine forest; taste the flavour of the north and let yourself be guided by stories of Danish sustainable energy and development. The pavilion offers a field of explorations! A bright atmosphere and changing skylight will harmoniously create the main frame of a horizontal stage effect and leave the visitants with a touch of the Danish nature. As an integral part of the pavilion exhibition, a café and a design shop is installed.

On the 1st. floor of the exhibition, an exclusive VIP lounge will be available for business meetings and events for the partner companies own invited guests.

In the VIP area companies can freely profile their logo etc. during their activities. Theme The main theme for Expo 2008 is Water and sustainable development. Denmark has strong competences within environmental technologies and the Danish pavilion brings about a great opportunity to communicate the high level of Danish sustainable energy and development towards the visitors and the media. Especially the Spanish market is promising for the Danish companies, since the Danish know-how within sustainable energy is highly acknowledged in Spain. There will also be a wide range of opportunities to create valuable contacts with the 98 other participating countries. The exhibition includes the following themes: Water & Climate Climate change Living near the coasts Daylight Sun energy Indoor climate Wind power wind energy and research Nature & biology Second generation sustainable energy The sustainable society Interplay between humans and technology. Current partners of the Danish pavilion Vestas in one of the participating companies and will contribute with their comprehensive knowledge of wind energy and represent an important role of the Danish industry. Denmark has the highest percentage, in worldwide scale, of production of electricity based on wind energy (20 %) and covers in total 40 % of the world market of wind energy.

DHI has a great experience in consulting of establishments of coastal areas and has developed a clever technology to predict consequences of environmental catastrophes. DHI will communicate the Danish historical knowledge of living a sustainable life by the cost. The Institution of Technology will communicate their comprehension of how to create a sustainable household based on sun energy. As a representation of the most modern Danish design, Normann Copenhagen will present and trade fine design products in the pavilion shop, while Fredericia Furniture and Onecollection will decorate the café and VIP facility of the pavilion with Danish designer furniture. 5 A popular destination The present forecast is that 7 million people will visit Expo Zaragoza during the opening period. It is noteworthy that all of the season tickets were sold out in 40 days! Also all of the night season passes have already been sold out.
