3 About The Maker Store Actuator Kit The Actuator Kit is available in 3 lengths; 300, 500 and The following instructions are the same for each length kit. Depending on the version of the kit, the Stepper Motor and mounting hardware may or may not be included. Please note that while we have spent a considerable amount of time and effort putting these instructions together, any errors and omissions excepted (E&OE). If you find an error, please let us know so we can continually improve this resource. Unpack and Check All Components Before starting any build, it is always a great idea to get organised. Start by unpacking your kit and checking it against the BOM (Bill of Materials) in Appendix 1. If you find any parts missing, please contact Maker Store as soon as possible. Tools Required You will also need the following tools: 3mm Allen Key 8mm Spanner 10mm Spanner Screw Drivers M5 Tap Pre-Assembly Notes 1. This build requires some of the V-Slot to be tapped with a M5 tap. In general tap to a depth of 8-10mm and clean away any swarf and burs. 2. When placing any V-Wheels onto the V-Slot, make sure the Eccentric Spacers are adjusted to their furthest point. Do not force the wheels on as this may damage them creating a little burr or bump. 3. The Sketchup model is available for download from the Maker Store website. It is a fantastic resource and can allow you to move through the design, pull things apart, and measure wherever required. We strongly recommend downloading the model and becoming familiar with Sketchup. OX CNC Assembly Instructions 2 v1.0

4 Gantry Plate Assembly Assembly the Gantry Plate as per the drawing below. OX CNC Assembly Instructions 3 v1.0

5 Actuator End Plate (NEMA23 End) Tap the V-Slot with a M5 Tap to a depth of 8-10mm. Attach the stepper motor to the Actuator End Plate and then screw the V-Slot to the plate. Don t forget to put the Flexible Coupling on the NEMA23 stepper. OX CNC Assembly Instructions 4 v1.0

6 Lead Screw Assembly Slide the Lock Collar and 688zz Bearing over the Lead Screw. Push the Lead Screw into the Flexible Coupling and tighten using the grub screw. Make sure the bearing is seated in the groove on the end plate and secure with the Lock Collar. OX CNC Assembly Instructions 5 v1.0

7 Gantry and Lead Screw Making sure you have correctly orientated the gantry, first push on two wheels and then align the Lead Screw with the Nut Block. Screw in the Lead Screw until the other wheels are seated in the V-Slot. Turn the Lead Screw until the gantry is in the middle. OX CNC Assembly Instructions 6 v1.0

8 Actuator End Plate Slide on the Lock Collar and bearing and attach the end plate. Make sure the bearing is seated correctly in the groove and secure with the Lock Collar. OX CNC Assembly Instructions 7 v1.0

10 Post Assembly Notes: 1. Make sure the lead screw can easily be turned by hand. If it is tight, check: a. Eccentric Spacer are not too tight. b.
