4 4 1 Introducton 1.1 Instructons Important nformaton and nstructons n ths documentaton are desgnated as follows: Danger! Draws your attenton to an exceptonally grave, mpendng danger to your health or lfe.!! Warnng! Indcates a hazardous stuaton that could lead to njures or materal damage. Attenton! Opton (accessores, perpheral equpment, specal fttngs). 1.2 Intended Use The devce s manufactured n accordance wth the current technologcal status and the recognzed safety rules. However, danger to the lfe and lmb of the user or thrd partes and/or damage to the devce and other tangble assets can arse durng use. The devce may only be used for ts ntended purpose and f t s n perfect workng order, and t must be used wth regard to safety and dangers as stated n the operatng manual. The devce s ntended exclusvely for separatng pre-scored PCB's. Any other use or use gong beyond ths shall be regarded as mproper use. The manufacturer/suppler shall not be lable for damage resultng from unauthorzed use; the user shall bear the rsk alone. Usage for the ntended purpose also ncludes complyng wth the operatng manual, ncludng the manufacturer s mantenance recommendatons and specfcatons. Notce! The complete documentaton can also currently be found n the Internet. 1.3 Safety Instructons The devce s confgured for voltages of 115 or 230 V AC. It only has to be plugged nto a grounded socket. Hazard by electrcal charge. Provde an earthng connecton va press stud. Only connect the devce to other devces whch have a protectve low voltage. Swtch off all affected devces (e.g. conveyor belt) before connectng or dsconnectng. Rsk of hand njury. Wear protectve gloves whle PCB separatng. Ensure that people s clothng, har, jewelry etc. do not come nto contact wth the exposed rotatng blade. In an emergency stuaton, actuate the emergency stop swtch n the control panel by tght pressng. Ths nterrupts the voltage supply to the devce. The devce may only be used n a dry envronment, do not expose t to mosture (sprays of water, msts, etc.). Do not use the devce n an explosve atmosphere. Do not use the devce close to hgh-voltage power lnes.
5 1 Introducton Work gong beyond ths may only be performed by traned personnel or servce techncans. Unauthorzed nterference wth electronc modules or ther software can cause malfunctons. Other unauthorzed work on or modfcatons to the devce can also endanger operatonal safety. Always have servce work done n a qualfed workshop, where the personnel have the techncal knowledge and tools requred to do the necessary work. There are varous warnng stckers on the devce. They draw your attenton to dangers. Warnng stckers must therefore not be removed, as then you and other people cannot be aware of dangers and may be njured. Danger! 8 8 5 Installaton 5.1 Electrcal Lnks! Attenton! The devce and prntng materals wll be damaged by mosture and wetness. Set up the devce only n dry locatons protected from splash water. Notce! Clean the blade wth a soft cloth before you start the machne at frst tme! Fg.4 Connectons Set up devce on a level surface. For a secure stand you can change the foot hghness by turnng. Put n the foot swtch round connector (4) from the foot swtch (7) n the 5 pn female connector (2) and tghten t. Connect the electrcal ground on the earth connecton (6). Swtch off the power module (1).Connect the power cable (5) to the power nput module (3) and to an earthed socket. 5.2 Assembly of the Adjustable Platform Fg.5 Assembly of the adjustable platform The adjustable platform delvered wth the machne s desgned for use as a hand-rest, easng the placement of the PCB on the lneal blade. Thereby t s also preventng a possble premature trng for the user. The adjustable platform s delvered wth 3 cylnder screws, washers and an Allen Screwdrver. 1. Mount the platform (2) by nsertng the screws provded nto the threaded holes (1) n the frame of the MAESTRO 4M. Usng the elongated holes n the retaner of the platform a rough heght adjustment s possble. 2. By turnng the knurled screw (4), the platform (3) can be rased or lowered senstvely. Rotatng the knurled screw ant-clockwse wll lft up the platform.
9 6 Swtch on and Programmng 9 Notce! You can separate PCB panel wth multple cuts very softly. It means, more cuts are gentle for materal and elements on the PCB board. 6.1 Swtch on and synchronze the blade 1. Swtch on the devce by power swtch (1). LED not ready s blnkng. Notce! Are all connectons ready and the devce s swched on and not n functon check the emergency swth! 1 Fg.6 Power Swtch 2. Press button home. 3. Press the foot-swtch and hold t. - Devce wll run to the start poston or from the start poston short out and back nto the start poston. 4. Loose the foot swtch and the devce s ready. LED not ready don't glow. It's possble to use 9 program places. After the frst swtch on the program 1 wll be loaded. Settng ex factory: Materal separaton n 3 cuts,wth ncreasng cut deepness respectvely declnng blade dstance. 1. cut = blade dstance: 0,6 mm 2. cut = blade dstance: 0,3 mm 3. cut = blade dstance: 0 mm 6.2 Programmng 1. Press button program and hold t over 3 seconds. The dsplay of the selected program s blnkng. 2. Select desred program place by the button program. 3. Press the button key for 3 seconds up to the LED key s blnk. 4. Select cut step by the button step. 5. Wth the button dstance - and dstance + adjust the dstance of the blades for ths cut step. - maxmum dstance = 0,6 mm Adjustng n steps of = 0,05 mm - mnmum Dstance = 0 mm 6. Select next cut step. 7. Adjust the blade dstance - Blade dstance smaller the former dstance and hgher 0 mm; back to pont 5. - Blade dstance = 0 mm or the same value as the former dstance and pressng the button step; closng the programmng mode. LED key don't glow. In case of end programmng wth two same dstance value wth a value greater 0 mm s the last cut a cut n ths dstance. Maxmum 5 cuts are possble.
10 10 6 Swtch on and Programmng 6.3 Recommendaton for cuttng - depend of notch thckness and number of cuts notch thckness Notce! The cuttng s more gentle for the PCB's wth a hgher number of cuts. The deepness of the last cut must be so that the PCB's are easly to separate. The values are recommendaton and t's possble to change t f t s necessary. 11 6 Swtch on and Programmng 6.4 Changng the Program 11 Swtch between program 1-9 Press button program and hold t over 3 seconds. The dsplay of the selected program s blnkng. Select the program by pressng the program button. If the button program not used for 3 seconds, the program dsplay wll end the blnkng and the new program s selected. 7 Adjustment the Cut Length Notce! The adjusted cut length must be orentated on the separated PCB. Then, the dsplay "mleage" for the cut length shown a realstc value a b Schnttlänge Fg.7 Length of cut 1. Loosen easy knurled screw (1 and 2) and move t to the maxmum outsde poston. Notce! Don't loosen the knurled screws (1 and 2) complete. loosen t only easy. 2. Actvate the foot swtch to start and run the program one tmes. The carrage wll be now n a Endposton and the lower blade s free. 3. Hold the PCB on an any poston between the both knurled screw. 4. Move the knurled screws (1 and 2) to the outsde edges of the PCB and tghten the screws. Notce! The dstance between the knurled screws (1 and 2) must be 20mm mnmum. In case of a smaller dstance, the sensors wll not detected and the blade wll run over the full length. 5. Actvate the foot swtch to start and run the program one tmes. 6. The carrage s standng now n the frst cut poston. 7. Put the PCB nto the adjusted cut area (a to b) on the lower blade and move t n drecton to the round blade mdpont ca. 10 mm under the carrage (3). 8. Check the settng wth a test cut and maybe make a fne adjustment.
12 12 8 Operaton If the devce swtched of an d on t' wll start n the last program before swtched off. Swtch on the devce by the power-swtch (1). LED not ready blnkng. 1 Fg.8 Power Swtch 1. Press button home. 2. Press the foot-swtch and hold t. - Devce wll run to the start poston or from the start poston short out and back nto the start poston.. - Synchronzaton of the blades. 3. Deblock the foot-swtch - devce s ready for operaton. LED not ready don't glow. 4. Select program. If you swtch of and on, the last used program s selected. After frst swtch on program 1 s selected. 5. Put n the PCB panel. Pre-scored groove n the PCB (2) put onto the lnear blade (3) and hold the PCB n the horzontal plane by hand. Ensure that the PCB s postoned wthn the area between the green knurled screws, the pre-selected area of cuttng way of the upper blade Fg.9 Put n PCB 6. Press the foot-swtch to start the program. Foot-swtch must be pressed over the length of the program. 7. Deblock the foot-swtch after program end. Notce! In case of uneven number of cuts wll be an other start poston for the next program start. Reset the dsplay of cut length Press button DEL for 3 seconds. Dsplay mleage blnkng. In the next 3 seconds press button DEL agan to reset the dsplay to Zero.
13 9 Mantenance 9.1 Changng the Upper Blade 13 In case of wastng, damage or materal cahange t's necessary to change the upper blade. Rsk of hand njury! Wear protectve gloves whle changng the blade. Danger! Rsk of cuttng damage by rotatng blade! Dsconnect devce before you start servce work! a 68b 1. After swtchng off the devce and dsconnectng from power supply, pull connector (2) out from female connector (3) on the motor. 2. Slde the carrage to the left end poston (front vew). Lke upper pcture. 3. Set the settng knob (5) on value 16 - blade on the hghest poston. 4. Swng lever (6) n poston a to decouple. 5. Loosen screws (4) and remove table (1) by movements back and top. 6. Loosen screws (8). 7. Remove motor carrage wth mounted motor (7). 8. Hold the settng knob (5) and loosen the knurled nut(12). 9. Remove blade (11). It's possble that the washer (10) are adhere on the blade. Remove the Washer (10) from bladeand take t back on the axle (9). 10. Take the new blade (11) on the axle (9). 11. Hold the settng knob (5) and tghten the knurled nut(12). 12. Set the settng knob (5) on value Mount motor carrage wth mounted motor (7), check the connecton of the couplng motor/axle and tghten screws (8). 14. Swng lever (6) n poston b to couple. 15. Hang up the table (1) and tghten screws (4). 16. Put n connector (2) nto female connector (3) on the motor. 7 8 Notce! Adjust the stopper of the upper blade before you start operaton. chapter Fg.10 Changng the upper blade
14 14 9 Mantenance 9.2 Adjustment of the Upper Blade Stopper Notce! The lower stop of the upper blade adjustment s already adjusted by delvery. After a long operaton tme, whle workng at strongly varyng temperatures or else after replacng a blade, t s recommended to re-adjust the lower stop a 8b Fg.11 Adjustment of the upper blade stopper 1. Move the lever (8) to the poston 'a'. The motor drve to the blade carrer (1) s now dsconnected. 2. Rotate the ponter (2) wth the knob (4) counterclockwse to poston "16". 3. Move the upper blade carrer (1) n the mddle poston of the lower blade. 4. Loosen the screw (3). 5. Move the knob (4) clockwse untl the upper and lower blades are n a dstance of 0.03 mm. Use a thckness gauge. 6. Swng the strut (5) clockwse untl you reach the stop and tghten the screw (3). Ths adjustment locks the upper blade n place to prevent t from movng out of adjustment. 7. Move the lever (8) to the poston 'b'. The motor drve to the blade carrer (1) s now reconnected.
15 9 Mantenance 9.3 Upper Gude Adjustment A Fg.12 4 Upper gude adjustment 1. Usng a pre-scored PCB, check the clearance A between the upper gudes (1,3) and the lower blade (4). The clearance should be set so that the edge of the upper gude s located correctly nto the pre-scored groove of the PCB. The PCB can be smoothly moved backwards and forwards but cannot move sdeways. The upper gudes (1,3) prevent the PCB from slppng to the sde and therefore ensures that t s not separated other than at the pre-scored groove. 2. As requred, the clearance A should be adjusted as descrbed above by turnng the eccentrc adjusters (2). 9.4 Table Adjustment Fg.13 Table adjustment To sut the MAESTRO 4M to dfferng requrements, the heght of the table can be adjusted as follows: 1. Loosen the knurled screws (7) located on the nner sde of the machne frame. 2. Lft the table (5) slghtly and move t towards the rear untl the stop. 3. Slde the table on the slots (6) and mount t at the heght requred. 4. Pull the table gently forwards untl t locks nto place. 5. Tghten the knurled screws (7). 6. Whlst the knurled screws are loose, the table can be removed completely from the machne frame as the elongated slots (6) have an openng underneath. Complete removal of the table s requred especally for replacement of the lower blade or mountng the optonal conveyor belt. Addtonally, by sldng the table towards the rear t s possble to form a space between the table and the lower blade through whch the edge strps of the PCB can fall through nto a contaner placed underneath.

Hold the lnear blade (1) to avod an uncontrolled fall of the blade. 3. Loosen screws (3). The eccentrc (2) wll used for gudng and wll not loosened. 4. Pull out the lnear blade (1) n drecton of the devce rear sde from eccentrc (2). 5. Move out the lnear blade (1). 6. Mountng of the new lnear blade n revers order.
17 9 Mantenance 9.6 Adjustng the Lnear Blade 17! Warnng! Rsk of cuttng njury n handlng of the lnear blade. To ensure a constant cuttng qualty and to prevent damagng of the blades must adjust the lnear blade so that the dstance between upper blade and lnear blade s constant of the full cuttng length Fg.16 Settng of the lnear blade (Front vew) Fg.17 Settng of the lnear blade (Rear vew) 1. Decouple the carrage (1) from motor by the lever (3). 2. Turn upward the upper blade by the settng knob on the carrage (1). 3. Pull the carrage (1) over the full cuttng length. The Dstance between upper blade and lnear blade (2) must be constant over the full length. 4. Repeat ths actvty wth reduced dstance between upper blade and lnear blade (2) up to a possble varaton n the dstance s vsble. 5. Are varaton n the dstance vsble, loosen screws (5). 6. Turn the eccentrc (4) to adjust the lnear blade (2).The shouldered screw (6) are the axle of rotaton and by turnng the eccentrc (4) wll the lnear blade (2) lfted or put down. 7. Repeat the settng and check up to the dstance s over the full cuttng dstance the same. 8. Tghten screws (5).
18 18 9 Mantenance 9.7 Check the Blade Algnment Notce! When the machne s put nto operaton for the frst tme, or followng a move of equpment or a change of blades, t s advantageous to re-check the algnment of the blades n relatonshp to one another. For ths purpose a dal gauge assembly (Part No ) s avalable as an opton Roller Blade FR Fg.18 Check the blade algnment 10 ± 0,1 1. Move the blade carrer (1) to the mddle of ts range of travel. 2. Affx the dal gauge assembly onto the threaded hole (2) n the blade carrer and screw tght wth the knurled screw (4) provded. Ensure that the small spgot (5) mounted on the nsde of the lever (6) locates correctly nto the hole (3) provded n the blade carrer. 3. Swng the lever (6) upwards untl the tp of the gauge feeler (7) presses onto the upper blade (9) at 2 mm of the edge of the blade. Rotate the scale on the dal gauge untl the ponter n the 1/100 mm dvson s lned up wth the 0 on the scale. 4. Swng the lever (6) downwards untl the tp of the gauge feeler (7) presses onto the lower blade (10) at 2 mm of the edge of the blade.. 5. In the event of the values obtaned by the above procedure beng greater than the values, the servcng agent responsble for your machne should be contacted. 6. Remove the dal gauge assembly. 9.8 Cuttng of alumnum PCB s wth roller blade FR4! Attenton! The usng of a roller blade FR4 (cab part No.: ) for cuttng alumnum PCB s reduced the durablty of the blade by hgher abrason. For usng a roller blade FR4 for cuttng alumnum PCB s t s necessary to make a couple of modfcaton: mplement a sde offset between the blades from 0,2 to 0,3 mm confrm the lower stopper of the upper blade Implementaton of the offset between the blades offset roller blade FR4 0,2-0, added ftted washer Fg.19 Blade Offset
19 9 Mantenance 19 Remove the exstng roller blade Shft the added ftted washer (cab part No.: ) on the axle. Attach the roller blade FR4 (cab part No.: ) lke the descrpon of the Operator s Manual.. If the roller blade rotate: Repeat the settng wth a lttle turn of the settng knob (3) to a small dstance between the blades, so that the roller blade s free over the full cuttng length.
