Turn piece over. 3 Working on the back side, adhere the 12 x2.5 piece of transparency to the top edge of the white cardstock, overlapping by ¼. Adhere one 12 x½ piece of orange paper over the area where the transparency overlaps the back piece to add stability. Still working on the back side, adhere the 12 x2 piece of transparency to the bottom edge of the white cardstock, overlapping by ¼. Again, adhere one 12 x½ piece of orange paper over the area where the transparency overlaps the back piece to add stability. Turn piece over to work on the front. 4 Using scallop scissors, trim off the long, left edge of the 4 x8.75 piece of floral paper. Trim off a ¾ piece from bottom, short edge and set aside. Adhere the 4 x8 floral piece to right edge of green paper, with scallop edge on left side. 5 To the top edge of the transparency, adhere a 12 x¼ piece of orange paper. Adhere another 12 x½ piece of orange paper to the top of the green/floral edge, butting it up to where the transparency begins. 6 Adhere the 12 x¾ piece of green paper over the bottom transparency piece, aligning it with the bottom edge; adhere the 5 x¾ piece of floral paper (that you previously set aside) to right side of green strip. Adhere the final 12 x¼ strip of orange paper to top edge of green/floral strip at the bottom, butting it up to where the transparency begins. 7 Temporarily place one of your 2¾ x4 photos to the left edge of the center green paper, ¼ up from the bottom edge. Draw a pencil line across the top of the photo. Remove photo and extend pencil line another 4. Decide on a title that is 6-8 letters long (8 letters will make the spacing tighter, so 6-7 is an ideal number). pg 1

Apply a bit of adhesive just below the pencil line and adhere each of the folded strips so that the glued edge is just below the pencil line.

2 8 Gently fold each of the seven 5/8 x1.25 pieces of orange paper in half, avoiding pressing too firmly on the crease. Apply a small amount of adhesive on the inside where the two open edges meet and glue to close. Apply a bit of adhesive just below the pencil line and adhere each of the folded strips so that the glued edge is just below the pencil line. 9 Adhere one of your 2¾ x4 photos to the left edge of the green center paper, aligning it on the pencil line and sandwiching the title tabs underneath the photo. Adhere second 2¾ x4 photo to the right edge of the first photo. Finally, adhere the third 2¾ x4 photo to the right edge of the green center paper, ¼ up from the bottom. All three photos should be aligned across the top and bottom. 10 Mat your 3¾ x5½ photo onto the 4 x5.75 piece of orange paper. Adhere matted photo in the blank space between the existing photos, aligning the top edge of the mat with the top edge of the title strips. 11 From the 7gypsies rubbings, trim 13 flowers from the floral strip. Cut that strip into three sets of 3 flowers and one set of 4 flowers. Apply the three-flower sets to the centers of the three smallest butterfly cut-outs. Apply the four-flower set to the center of the large butterfly cut-out. Keep release paper intact until ready to glitter. 12 Peel off release paper and sprinkle on green micro fine glitter over rubbing. Press on glitter gently with finger before shaking off excess. Repeat this for remaining four butterflies. Attach a large pink brad to the front of the largest butterfly as shown. Turn butterflies over and apply adhesive to the body center only of the three small butterflies. Apply foam pop dots to the body center of the largest butterfly. 13 Referring to photo for placement, adhere one small butterfly to the bottom, right corner of largest photo. Apply a second small butterfly to the top, right corner of page in the transparency area, allowing one of the wings to extend beyond the right edge. Apply the third small butterfly to the left edge of the page where the top transparency meets the green paper, allowing one of the wings to extend beyond the left edge. Finally, apply the largest butterfly to the right of the third butterfly, at an opposite angle. 13 Attach a small pink brad to the three small butterflies as shown. Gently lift up on the wings of each butterfly for added dimension. 14 Spell out your title on the title strips using the white Doodlebug white alpha stickers. Hand-write your journaling as shown. Layout 2: {Joyful} featuring Scenic Route papers and chipboard, BasicGrey brads, Fiskars punched flowers, America Crafts Thickers 1 Trimming (in all dimensions, the first number is the width and the second number is the height): white cardstock: once piece 11¾ x11¾ (from the very center of the white cardstock, cut out a 3 x3 piece) green dotted paper: one piece 9.5 x9 striped paper: one piece 12 x¾, one piece 2.5 x2.5 pink paper (backside of heart pattern): one piece 6 x7, one piece 3 x3 Hambly transparency: one 2.25 x2.25 piece 2 Adhere the 11¾ x11¾ piece of white cardstock to the center of the green cardstock. 3 Adhere the 9.5 x9 piece of green dotted paper 1.5 from the left edge and 1.25 from the top edge (make sure the 9.5 dimension is going left to right). 4 Adhere the 12 x¾ striped piece vertically, 3.25 from the left edge as shown. Sand the edges of the 6 x7 pink piece of paper and adhere it right up against the striped piece, 2.25 from the top. Sand the edges of your 5.5 x6.5 photo and adhere it to the center of the pink piece. 5 Open the package of Scenic Route chipboard shapes. Locate the nested flower towards the center and punch out both pieces. Sand off hanging tabs, if desired. pg 2

Using a craft knife and a cutting mat, trim away the excess paper from the exterior and interior of both chipboard pieces. Sand edges to expose some of the white.

3 6 Apply glue stick to the chipboard piece that has exterior petals and adhere it to the back of the 2.5 x2.5 piece of striped paper. Apply glue stick to the chipboard piece that has interior petals and adhere it to the back of the 3 x3 piece of pink paper. Using a craft knife and a cutting mat, trim away the excess paper from the exterior and interior of both chipboard pieces. Sand edges to expose some of the white. 7 Trim off corners and edges of the 2.25 x2.25 piece of Hambly transparency until it fits on the back of the chipboard piece with exterior petals (the one covered with striped paper). Adhere transparency in place. Choose two punch flowers and attach them to the front of the chipboard flower as shown, offsetting the flower petals slightly. Pierce a hole through the center of the flowers and chipboard and attach a small brad. Turn chipboard flower over and apply several foam pop dots to the back. Adhere it to the top, right corner of the page as shown. 8 Apply adhesive to the back of the chipboard flower with interior petals and press it firmly down on one of your 3 x3 photos. Trim away the excess photo around the exterior of the circle. Choose two punch flowers and attach them to the front of the chipboard flower as shown, offsetting the flower petals slightly. Pierce a hole through the center of the flowers and chipboard and attach a small brad. Adhere this chipboard frame to the bottom, left corner of the page as shown. 9 Using a 2.5 circle punch, a circle cutter or the circle provided in your kit, punch or cut out a 2.5 circle from the 3 x3 piece of white cardstock, as well as your remaining 3 x3 photo. 10 Referring to the photo, adhere the white cardstock circle and the photo circle near the bottom of the main photo, overlapping the two pieces as shown. 11 Trim out the brad located in your kit. Lay the over the round photo, slightly offset from the photo and ensure that you are not covering up a vital portion of your photo. (Note: the gap in the brad circle is for placement of the punchout flowers.) Using a paper piercer, poke a hole in the center of each dot. Remove and place a dark pink brad in each hole. Attach a stacked pair of punched flowers in the gap as shown using a large, white brad. 12 Referring to the photo, place a cluster of large and small brads in a variety of your own choosing to the left of the white journaling circle. Place three white brads on the top of the photo mat, just to the left of the chipboard flower. 13 Using a black journaling pen, journal on the white cardstock circle. Decide on a title for your page and spell it out on the green patterned area left of the vertical striped piece using the American Craft foam Thickers. 14 Your kit comes with a variety of punched flowers. Stack them into desired pairs, offset the top layer from the bottom layer and glue two together. Refer to photo for placement or adhere them wherever you would like on your page. Try integrating a pair of flowers in your title (especially if your title has an O in it). Place a combination of large and small brads in the center of each flower pair. When you are finished attaching all the flowers you d like, pull up on the petals with your fingers for added dimension. Layout 3: So Sweet featuring Crate Paper papers, brads and rub-ons, Doodlebug alpha stickers, satin ribbon embroidery NOTE: inking the edges of the components is optional but should be done before adhere them to the page. 1 Trimming (in all dimensions, the first number is the width and the second number is the height): floral branch paper: one piece 9.25 x9.25, one piece 12 x¾, one piece 12 x3/8 orange paper (backside of floral branch): one piece 12 x1 dotted paper (avoid cutting into bottom half): one piece 12 x1.25, one piece 12 x¾ lavendar cardstock: one piece 4.5 x6.5 dotted paper: trim out two small, one very small, and one large butterfly 2 Adhere the 9.25 x9.25 piece of floral paper to the green cardstock (it is the back side of the dotted/striped piece), 1.75 from the left edge and 1.25 from the top edge. pg 3

3 Adhere the 4.5 x6.5 piece of lavendar cardstock, 3 from the top edge of the page and 1.5 from the right edge. 4 Adhere the 12 x¾ blue strip of paper across the page, 4.25 from the top edge.

5 Scallop one long edge of the 12 x1 orange strip and adhere it across the dotted/torn piece, aligning it to the bottom edge of the blue strip. 6 Adhere your 5 x2.

4 3 Adhere the 4.5 x6.5 piece of lavendar cardstock, 3 from the top edge of the page and 1.5 from the right edge. 4 Adhere the 12 x¾ blue strip of paper across the page, 4.25 from the top edge. Tear off one long edge of the 12 x1.25 piece of dotted paper and adhere it directly below the blue strip. 5 Scallop one long edge of the 12 x1 orange strip and adhere it across the dotted/torn piece, aligning it to the bottom edge of the blue strip. 6 Adhere your 5 x2.25 photo 1 from the left edge of the page and 2.75 from the top edge of the page. Adhere your second 5 x4.75 photo directly below the first one. 7 Apply 12 x3/8 floral strip across center of page so that it covers the seam where the two photos meet. 8 Draw a VERY LIGHT pencil line 1/4 outside of the square floral paper on all four sides, skipping the layered paper strips and photos. Open your package of Crate rub-ons and select several of the smallest butterflies (both in rows and clusters) and trim them out of the sheet. In this example, there are seven rub-ons used. Decide where along your pencil lines you d like to place your rub-ons. Erase the pencil line where each rub-on will go and apply all rub-ons around the perimeter. 9 Using a brown or black journaling pen, draw a dashed line on the remaining pencil line, skipping over the rub-ons. Allow pen work to dry completely before erasing the rest of the pencil line. 10 Decide on a title for your page and spell it out on the lavendar cardstock, above the blue strip of paper, using the brown Doodlebug alpha stickers. Apply a butterfly rub-on above or near your title that is approximately the same as one of the cut-out butterflies (when you glue on the actual cut-out butterfly, the rub-on will act as a shadow). 11 Apply adhesive to the back body center of the three largest butterfly cut-outs. Referring to photo, adhere each butterfly as shown. Attach a small, blue brad to the head of each butterfly. (The smallest butterfly will be used later.) 12 Cut out the located in your kit. Temporarily place this pattern over the bottom, right corner of the lavendar cardstock so that a small piece of the corner of the cardstock is exposed. Hold in place and, using a paper piercer, poke a hole in the center and at the five points radiating from the center. Remove. 13 Using a brown or black journaling pen, hand-write your journaling as shown, wrapping it around the (stay 1/8 away from the area). This step can also be done after the embroidered rose is in place. 14 Thread the 15 length of white embroidery floss through your tapestry needle. Bring the needle up through the center, leaving a 4 tail out the back of the page. Hold that tail in place with your non-dominant hand and run the needle through one of the outer holes. Bring the needle back up through the center and back through another outer hole. Repeat this step until all five spokes are threaded and the needle has come out the back side of the layout. Turn the layout over and tie the two loose ends together. Place a piece of scotch tape over the knot to secure. 15 Thread one end of the 36 piece of satin ribbon up through the center hole, pulling it all the way through until a 1/2 tail remains on the back. Choose a large glazed brad and place it through the center hole from the front. Turn the page over and open the prongs of the brad. Secure the end of the ribbon with a piece of scotch tape. Turn your layout back over to the front. 16 Run the end of the satin ribbon under one of the floss spokes, twisting the ribbon until you like how the first petal is formed. Skip the next spoke and under the next spoke, repeating the twist. Continue threading the ribbon under the spokes, skipping a spoke in between. Take your time and twist the ribbon until you achieve a look you like for the petals. Do not pull too tightly on the ribbon. Continue this process until you ve reached the end of the ribbon. Place a small amount of adhesive on the end and tuck under the flower to hide it. At this point, you can manipulate the petals nearest to the brad if they ve covered up the brad a bit. 17 Attach the smallest butterfly cut-out on one of the ribbon petals with a glue dot or small bit of adhesive. Lift up the wings of all the butterflies for added dimension. pg 4
