Cut Slate Cardstock to 5 ½ x 8 ½ and fold in half to create card base 2. Cut Monochromatic Blue Dot to 5 ¼ x 4 1/8 and adhere, centered, to card base 3. Cut Blue Stripe to 5 x ¾ and adhere about 1 up from the bottom, centered side-to-side 4. Cut Monochromatic Green Graphic patterned paper to 6 x 1 ¼ and notch both ends to create pennant shape. Adhere, centered side-to-side, about ¼ up from the bottom 5. Hand-cut Happy Birthday from Birthday Phrase patterned paper. Adhere, centered top-to-bottom, on the left side of the Pennant strip 6. Hand-cut or punch three Stars from Stars patterned paper. 7. Using a short length of Teal w/ Yellow Dots ribbon, fold in half and adhere to the back side of one of the Stars. Adhere the three stars, vertically, evenly spaced along the right side edge of the card. 8. Trim Vellum Banner (styles vary) to fit in the upper left corner of the card, and adhere NOTE: You will also use the Vellum Banner on a Tag. (OPTIONAL: Pen outline the edges of the Banner.)

2 Finished size: 5 x 5 Happy Happy Birthday Photo Play Party Boy 1. Cut Sky Cardstock to 5 x 10 and fold in half to create card base 2. Cut Monochromatic Blue Dot patterned paper to 4 ¾ x 4 ¾ and adhere, centered, to card base. Cut Paint Splatter patterned paper to 4 ½ x 2 ¼. 3. Cut Monochromatic Green Graphic patterned paper to two 5 x ½ strips, tear one edge (OPTIONAL: Border punch the strips) 4. Adhere one Green Graphic strip on top and one of the bottom of the Paint Splatter strip. Lay diagonally across the card, trim and adhere. (OPTIONAL: Machine straight stitch edges.) 5. Hand -cut three Happy and one Happy Birthday from Birthday Phrase patterned paper. Stack and adhere work blocks, centered side-to-side, about 1 ¼ up from the bottom. 6. Hand-cut three Presents for Monochromatic Green Graphic patterned paper 7. Sprinkle and adhere sequins (from January s kit) around the card

3 Finished size: 5 x 5 Smile It s Your Day Simple Stories Let s Party 1. Cut Butter Cardstock to 5 x 10 and fold in half to create card base 2. Cut Lime w/white Polka Dots patterned paper to 4 ¾ x 4 ¾ and adhere, centered, to card base 3. Cut Music Notes patterned paper to 7 x 1 ½ and notch both ends. Pleat and adhere about ½ up from the bottom of the card 4. Hand-cut five Stars from Stars patterned paper. Randomly adhere stars above the Music Notes strip (OPTIONAL: Add short machine stitches to each Star) 5. Hand-cut Camera and It s Your Birthday from the Word patterned paper. Adhere Camera to the left-side of the Music Notes strip. Adhere Sentiment over the Camera 6. Adhere Smile to the right of the Camera, on the Music Notes Strip, using Doodlebug Alphabet (fonts vary) 7. Randomly adhere four buttons around the card

4 Finished size: 5 ½ x 4 ¼ Holy Cow Simple Stories Let s Party 1. Cut Chocolate Cardstock to 5 ½ x 8 ½ and fold in half to create card base 2. Cut Hot Pink w/large White Dots to 5 ¼ x 4 1/8 and adhere, centered, to card base 3. Trim off about a ¼ of the Teal Doily, and adhere about ¾ down from the top of the card, flush on the left side. 4. Cut Multi-color Diagonal Stripe to 5 ½ x ¾ and adhere slightly over lapping the bottom of the trimmed doily (NOTE: I cut the strip so that the lines will lay horizontal on the card, rather than on the diagonal.) 5. Using a length of Teal w/yellow Dot Ribbon, pleat a length just left of center, and adhere below the Stripe strip 6. Hand-cut Banners from Banner patterned papers. Adhere the lengths along the top of the card 7. Hand-cut Cow, leaving some dark border, from the Words patterned paper. Adhere about 1 in from the left side, with it s feet on the bottom edge of the Stripe strip 8. Cut Birthday Sentiment from Photo Play s Birthday Phrase patterned paper and adhere to the right of the cow 9. Attach Holy Cow It s Your Birthday using the Doodlebug Alphabet (fonts vary) to the right of the cow. (NOTE: Depending on the size of your alphabet font, you may need to rearrange the Sentiment layout. You can also create Word Blocks instead see Tips below.)

Cut Pink Floral patterned paper to to 4 1/8 x 5 ¼ and adhere, centered, to card base 3. Cut Multi-colored Polka Dot patterned paper to 3 ½ x 4 ½ and adhere, centered, to Pink Floral block 4. Cut Teal Doily in half and adhere along the left side edge, centered top-to-bottom 5. Cut Multi-colored Stripe patterned paper to 4 ¼ x 1 ¼ 6. Wrap and knot a length of Pink Gingham Ribbon around the top of the Stripe strip and adhere about 1 up from the bottom 7. Hand-cut Believe with all your heart Sentiment from the Multi-colored Words patterned paper and trim to 4 ¼ in length. Adhere along the bottom of the Stripe strip 8. Hand-cut Moped from 4x4 Blocks patterned paper and adhere along the right side, on top of the Gingham Ribbon 9. Attach Metal Tab to the upper right corner of the Multi-colored Dots block 10. Randomly attach three mini brads on the Multi-colored Dots block

Cut Monochromatic Blue Floral to 4 1/8 x 5 ¼ and adhere, centered, to card base (OPTIONAL: Machine stitch straight edges) 3. Hand-cut three Frames from Frames patterned paper. Embellish, as follows, before adhering. 4. Using a Wooden Banner (styles vary) as a template, trace on Plaid patterned paper, trim and adhere to Wooden Banner. Adhere Banner to the upper Frame s upper left corner. 5. Hand-cut Small Floral and Ladybug from 4x4 Blocks patterned paper. 6. Adhere Floral to Plaid Banner. Top with a Button (colors vary). Adhere Hey using Doodlebug Alpha (fonts vary) 7. Adhere Dimensional Circle to center Frame. Attach two mini brads (colors vary). Adhere My using Doodlebug Alpha (fonts vary) 8. Adhere Ladybug to lower Frame, down and left of center. Randomly attach two Buttons (colors vary). Adhere Love using Doodlebug Alpha (fonts vary) 9. Cut Music Notes patterned paper to 2 ¾ x 5 and adhere to Tag base 3. Hand-cut Bird (leave some dark border) and It s Your Birthday into word blocks from Words patterned paper. 4. Stack and adhere It s Your Birthday, centered, along the bottom of the Tag 5. Adhere Bird standing on the top, right side edge of the Your word block 6. Cut or Punch three Circles from Borders patterned paper 7. Layer and adhere, diagonally to the left, the three Circles, starting about 1 down from the top of the Music Notes patterned paper. 8. Using the remainder of the Vellum Banner (styles vary) adhere in along the upper left corner of the tag leave room at the top to thread ribbon. 9. Thread and knot a length of Chevron Celery Ribbon through the hole in the top of the Tag. OPTIONAL: Distressed all straight edges

8 TIPS: Make Card Fronts to create more cards. This is especially useful when creating bulk cards. When ready to use, simply adhere the card front to plain white cardstock base or pre-made card bases. Create Postcard-style cards Use the photos of the cards for placement of elements Inking edges can help define layers, but is optional Use your computer to create letters, words and sentiments Alter Chipboard with paint, ink, markers, cardstock or patterned paper even color with crayons Some elements in the kits vary in style, but making substitutions just personalizes your cards Using left-overs and the same designs will produce different cards by simply altering an element: butterflies instead of hearts. Or a different sentiment tag. How to create block letters or words on your computer using MicroSoft Word In a new document, insert a text box. You can create one box for the word(s) or you can create individual boxes for each letter. Drag the box to an approximate length to fit your sentiment (you can adjust it as you go) Type in your desired sentiment or letter. Space the letters of your word if you re going to create one box and cut it apart. Center your single letters. Adjust the text box to make it bigger if necessary Highlight the text and select your desired font Right-click in the text box and open the Format Text Box link. In the pop-up window, select Colors and Lines At the top, select your Fill color. Reselect your text and change the font color to White Print. Use the text box outline to cut along and trim out your Sentiment box. Cut between the individual letters and adhere.
