2 Step 1. This workshop will show you how to make this white on white matchbox style box which is perfect to house the tri fold card with a difference project inside or if not use it for another project and add a small gift inside instead. The main products needed are the Sue Wilson New Zealand collection ~ Wellington die, the new Creative Expressions opaque snow white micro beads along with a self adhesive sheet. The Creative Expressions large rambling blossom embossing folder has been used to add texture to the main body of the box. Please note that the tag die in this photo was not used after all. Step 2. Place the outer die from the Sue Wilson New Zealand collection ~ Wellington die in the centre of a landscape piece of Foundations coconut card. This will allow you to decide what measurements is used and in this case making the box base with a 4.5 cm depth means the box base can be made with no waste from the A4 sheet of card. Step 3. With the Foundations coconut card in the landscape position score down the left hand side at the 4.5cm line.

3 Step 4. Score another line again measuring 4.5cms from this point or at 9cms on the score board. Turn the card 180 degrees and score the same 2 measurements on the left hand side of the card ( once it has been turned only ). This makes the middle square slightly bigger on one edge but this will save you having to trim any excess card away or measure the card. Step 5. Turn the card in a portrait position and score the left hand side again at 4.5 cms in from the side edge. Place the outer die in the centre of the squared lines which are now forming as this will show you the die fits in the scored lines and then turn the card 180 degrees and score 4.5cms in from the side edge. Step 6. Fold and crease all the score lines in place using a bone folder.

4 Step 7. To add a hidden ribbon handle a hole will need to be added on the 2 nd box in when the card is in a portrait position. Make a mark with a pen or pencil in the centre of that box. Step 8. Use a small attachment on a screw punch or a pokey could be used but this may mark the card with crease marks when it`s pushed through. Make the hole over the marking. The smaller the hole the tighter it will hold the ribbon but it doesn`t want to be to small that it bulks the ribbon up. Step 9. Take a piece of grey board. I used a piece from the back of a paper pad. Mark the card so it falls a few millimetres inside the long box side panel. Mine measured 115mm x 40mm. Cut 2 of these panels as they will be used to strengthen the sides of the box and it will also make the ribbon to stay in place when it`s pulled many times.

5 Step 10. Add some Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue on the grey board panel. Step 11. Place the panel over the hole and in the 2 nd in box on the reverse of the box card. Also add another grey board panel to the other end of the box at the 2 nd in box to strengthen it. Step 12. Go back in a punch a hole through the grey board now it`s in place as it`s easier to do and it will be more accurate this way. Cut a small length of the Creative Expressions off white finishing touches satin ribbon.

6 Step 13. Poke both ends of the ribbon through the hole and pull the ribbon until it leaves a small loop to make the handle of the drawer. Step 14. Cut the ends off the ribbon to a shorter length on the back of the card before adding some of the Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue underneath the ends. I also like to add a few strips of cellotape over the top just to make extra sure the ribbon won`t move over the times it will be pulled. Not that the Cosmic Shimmer glue won`t hold it down firmly. Step 15. Cut a straight line up to the 9cm fold section on the box panel.

7 Step 16. Cut away the complete corner box square. Step 17. Trim at an angle up to the top of the score line to create an inverted `V` as this will allow the box base to have a nice finish on the finished piece. Step 18. Repeat this on all the other corners of the card until you are left with the box base looking like this. Set a side for a moment...

8 Step now emboss a piece of the coconut card using the Creative Expressions rambling rose blossom embossing folder with the Spellbinders base plate and the raspberry adapter plate. Never force an embossing sandwich through the Grand Calibur but this set of plates were just fine. Step 20. Now you have a lovely embossed piece of card which will be used to strengthen 2 of the sides of the box which didn`t have that 2 nd outer flap because of using A4 card. Step 21. Cut 2 panels of the embossed card to 117mm x 90mm. Now fold the panels in half to making sure you have a 117mm x 45mm folded panel when finished.

9 Step 22. Cut 2 more pieces of the grey card to fit on the remaining side panels of the box (the ones with just a single layer of card). Use some of the Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue to attach one grey board panel on each of the 2 folded embossed panels. Leave to dry for a few minutes. Step 23. Lay the box base out flat and with the ribbon handle facing upwards. Apply some Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue on each of the corner flaps making sure you don`t add to much glue that it spills over the edges of the flaps once they are in place. Step 24. Turn the card over making sure you just watch where the glue touches. If easier add the glue to just 2 of the end tabs first and then repeat after the card is in place. Bring the glue tab up and place it on the inside of the 2 nd box panel leaving the outer box panel clear as this will be folded down later to cover the tab up. PLEASE MAKE SURE you square the tabs up neatly on the corner of the card as it will give the finished box a neater finish. Repeat this on all of the tabs holding each tabs for a few seconds whilst the glue takes (wiggle the glue / card a little as this helps to activate the glue).

10 Step 25. You will be left with 2 flaps which you can now add some Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue on the inside of the tabs at either end. Step 26. Fold the tab over the box side so it covers the corner tabs. PLEASE BE AWARE that if the corners tabs aren`t glued in place properly then a small amount of card may stick up over the side of the box, this would need to be trimmed to allow the flaps to be put in place correctly. Repeat on the other end of the box. Step 27. This completes the basic shape of the box. Sorry for the longer explanation of making the box but once you have made one you`ll see it`s a useful technique to strengthen and also neaten the finished box look.

11 Step 28. Now to strengthen the sides of the box as these are just a single layer of card. Take the prepared embossed folded panel and ease the grey board side into the box so the embossed flap will go over the top of the box. Here you can see the white card is a little bit to wide to fit in but don`t worry it`s better to have it wider than to small as this adds to the strength of the side and it can be trimmed off before sticking the panel in place. Step 29. So just cut the side of the white card down and in this case it`s to the edge of the grey board. Also do this on the other end of the card if it`s needed. Step 30. Check the card in the box again and this time it`s a perfect fit.

12 Step 31. Add some Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue over both the embossed and the grey board panels. Step 32. Stick the grey board piece on the inside the box single layer of card side. Step 33. Before folding down the flap of the embossed panel over and down to complete the strengthening of the side of the box. Repeat on the other side of the box.

13 Step 34. Now you have a lovely strong box made out of just A4 pieces of card and some grey backing board. Step 35. Now you can either cut a square panel and attach it at this stage to make a flapped lid or here we are going to make the matchbox cover to add over the inner drawer that has just been made. Measure the width of the box and then add 2mms onto that width ( i`m just adding this information encase you wanted to make a different larger box out of A3 card and then you can size the outer casing to fit your project / gift size. Here I need a width of 12 ½ cms. Step 36. Emboss another piece of coconut card using the rose embossing folder and with the card in a landscape position mark the following measurements onto the card as there is some smaller numbers which aren`t on the score board. Mark at 1 ½ cms, 4.7cms, 12 ½ cms from the last measurement which is very important, 4.7cms from the last point and then 1 ½ cms. This will give you the top of the box, 2 side depths and 2 tabs to allow you to join the bottom layer underneath so the draw pulls out smoothly every time rather than catching on the tabs on the inside.

14 Step 37. Cut a top layer to fit over the tabs and so it cover slightly over the edge of the front and back of the box. Here that measurement is 12.3cms x 12cms. (Remember so no cutting was involved when scoring this leads to the extra 3mm difference in the finished size). Step 38. Take the larger folded scored card and fold the flaps into a gatefold position and lay the small single layer over the top. Mark with your scissors where the card needs to be trimmed away. Now cut the excess card off on a guillotine. Step 39. Cut the corner off the 1 ½ cm tabs on the larger cover and then glue the single panel underneath one of the tabs.

15 Step 40. Repeat the process on the end of the card. Having the tabs on the outside will make the drawer slide in and out easily. Step 41. Place the drawer in place to just make sure all is ok. Have the tab side on the bottom of the box. Step 42. It`s optional but you may want to add another embossed panel to cover up the tabs.

16 Step 43. Now for the top of the box place a piece of self adhesive sheet onto a piece of coconut card or any other white card off cut and secure the outer Sue Wilson Wellington die in place with some low tack tape. Step 44. Cut out the die piece using the Grand Calibur die cutting machine. Now cut and emboss another piece of coconut card using the 3 largest dies from the Wellington set. Step 45. Cut the smaller inner rectangle die shape out of the small rectangle off cut that came out of the inside of the die cut panel.

17 Step 46. Remove the backing off the sticky sheet and place the Wellington panel over the top of the sticky. Alternatively you can leave the 2 panel separate and add the micro beads to the whole sticky sheet and glue the die shape over the top. Step 47. To ensure the die shape has stuck down perfectly so no micro beads fall underneath then take the carrier sheet and press firmly down over the die shape so all of it adheres to the sticky sheet below. This will stop the sticky sheet being handled and losing any of it`s sticky. Step 48. Have the panel in a craft box lid and tip the Creative Expressions snow white micro beads over the sticky areas.

18 Step 49. Press the beads firmly into the sticky sheet allowing any excess beads to fall back into the craft lid. This inner rectangle only needs beads around the outside as a smaller topper will cover it. Step 50. Add some foam pads on the smaller rectangle die cut panel and add some Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue on the pads to allow the panel to stick over the micro beads. Step 51. Place the small rectangle onto the Wellington panel leaving a small border of the white micro beads around the edge. Repeat the process and add the Wellington die shape onto an embossed border edge coconut card panel. Add the complete stack onto the top of the box using foam pads again for added depth.

19 Step 52. Here is a view with the draw being pulled out. Step 53. To make some feet for the matchbox then i`m going to be using the Creative Expressions large 25mm dazzlers. Remove the foam pad from the dazzler and place some 3d glue to the centre of the dazzler and then place another dazzler over the top. This will create a matching foot for the box as it was used in the tri fold card with a difference card. This way you can use this box style to send the tri fold card in the draw section of the box. Step 54. Place a thin piece of the red line tape around the centre line of the joined dazzlers.

20 Step 55. or use the self adhesive pearls. Remove the red line carrier backing from the tape and then add some of the snow white micro beads on to tape. Press the beads into tape for a different look for the dazzler. Step 56. Add some 3d glue on each corner of the base of the box and add the prepared dazzlers over the top. Make sure you leave the glue to go off before moving the box about to much. Step 57. Attach a bow to the rectangle topper on the top of the box which is made using the Creative Expressions off white finishing touches satin ribbon. Add a rose resin flower over the knot of the bow and at the top of the ribbon handle to add detail to the finished project.

21 Step 58. Now you have a strong inner box to pass in and out of the embossed matchbox style sleeve. Step 59. Here is a front view of the box. Step 60. This photo shows the yummy snow white micro beads up perfectly. This project can be tailor made to suit a colour scheme using the many different coloured resin flowers, micro bead, satin ribbon and dazzlers too. Just have fun playing.

22 Step 61. This project was made to house the tri fold card with a difference style card. Just change the gold flowers for the rose resin flowers and have a white ribbon instead. Step 62. Just a different angle of the card. Step 63. and another view.
