6 Optional Services 4 1. proofs to start Add $15 for a faxed or ed proof of the entire order and $12 for each additional proof. 2. rush services Rush services are available. For details and current pricing, please see rush. 3. cancellations Should you wish to cancel your order, Checkerboard will bill you only for the work already completed, at a minimum of $40 to cover processing and typesetting costs. layout & typesetting 4. motifs and monograms You may add any of our motifs or monograms to the announcement or accessories of your choice for no additional charge, as long as it is printed in the same color and on the same side of the paper as the rest of your text. Please indicate the item code of the motif or monogram you have selected and designate its placement. Our layout artists will use their discretion in sizing. If you have something specific in mind, let us know a proof is highly recommended. 5. special typesetting Certain areas on the invitation have been designed to hold text. Within those areas, you have a lot of control over how text looks, such as your choice of typestyles and type sizes. However, text is limited to the areas where it is currently positioned. Custom quotes are available. 6. hebrew lettering Please refer to Hebrew Lettering, page 13, in this booklet. This service includes one free proof of the Hebrew and subsequent changes or proofs will be charged as PROOFS. 7. foreign language (proof included) For typesetting service in a foreign language using the Roman alphabet and associated accents, add $25 per order. This price includes one proof for your approval. 8. customer artwork and photos For file requirements go to There are no additional charges for artwork when it is printed in the same ink color and on the same side as the rest of the item (otherwise Second Side Printing or Second Color of Ink charges will apply). We reserve the right to resize your artwork for the best presentation. When using supplied artwork, a proof is highly recommended. Certain processes produce better results with custom artwork. Please refer to the chart below or call us to discuss your needs: inks & additional processes 9. color matching (on cream or white papers) If you want a special color of thermography, matte or letterpress ink and supply us with the Pantone Matching System (PMS) number, add $100 to your order. If you supply us with a printed sample of the color that you would like matched, add $125 per order. We will come very close but cannot guarantee a perfect match. Color Matching is only available on cream or white papers. CMYK values may be supplied for digital lithography at no additional cost. 10. thermography Second Color of Ink Add a flat fee of $125 per item when a second color of ink is being added. Third Color of Ink - Add an additional flat fee of $185 per item for a third color of ink. Second Side of Printing Add a flat fee of $125 per item when adding a second side of printing to an item that does not currently have it. In some cases the second side may need to be matte printed; we will advise you. For quantities over 1,000, please call for a custom quote. Low Gloss Thermography Our Low Gloss thermography is available on all items that are shown in thermography. Add $60 to your order. Please specify LOW GLOSS on your order form. Low Gloss is not available in Gold ink. 11. letterpress Second Color of Ink - Add a flat fee of $185 per item when a second color of ink is being added. Third Color of Ink - Add an additional flat fee of $215 per item for a third color of ink. 9 D2 7 Layering & Paper Changes how to order customized layering On the order form under Special Instructions, list the full name of each paper of your printed piece. important to avoid confusion: 1. list each of the papers that make up your invitation. 2. list the full name of the papers as listed in the Papers and Liners section. For example, instead of requesting Black, please write Jet. how to price customized layering 1. Using your selected item, find its size category and price code on the pricing page under Papers. Check the layering information to make sure the paper you ve selected can be used for the layer you would like to add or replace: bottom this means the paper can be used as a bottom layer. middle this means the paper can be used as a middle layer. printable this means the paper can be used as a top layer. Please take note of any printing restrictions. 3. Using the appropriate Paper Price Chart above, you ll find the price of the paper where the Price Code row meets the Quantities column. For example, when adding a paper of price code 1 to an item of Size Category B for 100 invitations, add $110 to the price of your order. to add a layer add the cost listed for your quantity to the price of your order. to subtract a layer subtract the cost listed for your quantity from the price of your order. to substitute a layer add or subtract the difference between the cost of the new paper with the cost of the original paper for your quantity to the price of your order. Please understand that any design that is preprinted, embossed, foil-stamped or die-cut is available only in the paper as shown. If you replace this paper, you will receive paper without the preprinted, embossed, foil-stamped or die-cut design. an important note about foldovers: Only certain papers are available as foldovers, in each size. 10 Incredibly Thick Invitations Tablet Service 8 A tablet invitation is created by adhering several layers of card stock together forming an extremely thick invitation. The final piece can measure nearly 1/8 thick! important things to note We can create a tablet invitation starting with 2 papers and up to as many as 6 papers. The tablet layers will be flush mount with straight cut edges. Placing a colored paper in between cream or white papers produces a stunning seamed effect. Add 3 days production time to your order for our tablet service. how to price our tablet service Choose your printed layer, either from an existing product or from our basic pricing at the beginning of this booklet. Add the cost of your additional paper layers using the Paper Price Chart on page 7. Add the flat rate of $150 per item (for any quantity). And for good measure, before you affix any postage to your envelope, we recommend that you ask the post office to weigh one completely assembled invitation to determine proper postage. Customized Pockets and Jackets Many of our pockets and jackets can be customized with the papers of your choice. When noted, you can choose from any of our top or bottom weight papers. A flat fee of $50 will apply, along with the applicable paper changing charges which can be found on Layering & Paper Changes, page 7, in this booklet.

15 13 1. conversion When you place your order on you can select hebrew character and preview what they look like right away. If you can translate from english to hebrew (or have access to someone who can), you can use our hebrew conversion chart available under the Dealer resources section of Otherwise, see Translation below. 1. First, you or your translator should translate from english into hebrew, using hebrew characters. 2. Then, using Checkerboard s separate form entitled english/hebrew conversion chart, you or your translator locates the hebrew characters in your translation. On the hebrew conversion chart, enter the english key stroke found above each hebrew character. IMPOrTaNT! This is NOT a translation chart. You cannot translate from english to hebrew using this chart; you can only convert hebrew characters to english key strokes. This chart is designed so that we may key in the correct hebrew characters, even though the english looks like gibberish! Be sure to place the english key strokes from the conversion chart in the exact place you want the hebrew characters to appear on your invitation. For example, if the right-most character in your hebrew translation is aleph, be sure to put the english character a in the box furthest to the right. Continue to enter the characters from right to left on each line as needed, until you have completed the conversion. 3. Select the hebrew typestyle you want and enter it on the line labeled Typestyle at the top of the hebrew conversion chart. 4. add $20 for the first line and $10 for each additional line for this conversion service. 5.
