Functon test runnng A functon test for at least one emergency lumnare has been started and s currently runnng. Duraton/nspecton test runnng A duraton test or nspecton test for at least one emergency lumnare has been started and s currently runnng. Emergency operaton The general power supply has faled; at least one emergency lumnare s now beng suppled by the battery. Test tme exceeded The test tme has been exceeded durng a test of at least one emergency lumnare. Test tme exceeded means that an emergency lumnare does not respond durng the test. The test s therefore cancelled after a certan tme. The tme depends on the type of test, e.g. 3 mnutes for a functon test. Locked At least one emergency lumnare has been locked. Deep-dscharge protecton At least one emergency lumnare has reached the deep-dscharge threshold n emergency operaton so that the deep-dscharge protecton has trpped. The lamp s swtched off as a result. Nevertheless, the battery contnues to supply power to the control gear and the battery therefore contnues to dscharge. Table 8: Descrpton of the statuses that can be forwarded 23

26 Confguraton Automatc functon test Durng a functon test, a power falure s smulated n order to test whether the emergency lghtng system s functonng properly. The functon test must be carred out regularly. The results for the last several years must be recorded and archved n a test book. IEC stpulates that a functon test must be performed at least once per month. EN stpulates that a functon test must be performed at least once per week. How often the test must be conducted and how long the results must be archved also depend on natonal regulatons. In Austra, the functon test s conducted weekly as a rule. A functon test s less comprehensve than a duraton test. You can confgure your LITECOM system to automatcally perform a functon test at a specfc tme. You can start a functon test manually at any tme. Ths s recommended, for example, when devces are replaced, new devces are added or other changes are made to the confguraton. 28 Confguraton Automatc duraton test Durng a duraton test, a power falure s smulated n order to test whether the emergency lghtng system s functonng properly and whether the emergency power source (e.g. battery) acheves ts nomnal duraton. The duraton test must be carred out regularly. The results for the last several years must be recorded and archved n a test book. IEC and EN stpulate that a duraton test must be performed at least once per year. How often the test must be conducted and how long the results must be archved also depend on natonal regulatons. You can confgure your LITECOM system to automatcally perform a duraton test at a certan tme each year. A maxmum of three tests can be performed. To ensure that a prevous duraton test has not empted all batteres n the event that an emergency occurs, a duraton test s not performed smultaneously for all self-contaned emergency lumnares. For each test executon, test group A s tested frst and then test group B s tested wth a delay of 5 14 days. The followng requrements must be met n order to perform an automatc duraton test for test group A, for example: The self-contaned emergency lumnares from test group A are n normal operaton. The batteres for the self-contaned emergency lumnares from test group A are fully charged. The batteres for the self-contaned emergency lumnares from test group B are fully charged. If these requrements are not met, the automatc duraton test wll be postponed. The duraton test can be postponed up to 4 tmes n total: f, for example, the automatc duraton test s to be performed for test group A, a check s frst carred out to determne whether test group B meets the requrements. As soon as test group B meets the requrements, a check s carred out to determne whether test group A meets the requrements. The duraton test can be postponed for a total of up to 2 tmes per test group: f a duraton test for a test group has been postponed, ths s documented accordngly n the test book. The duraton test s only complete when t has been performed for both test groups. You can start a duraton test manually at any tme. The emergency lumnares cannot be dmmed/brghtened. Ths swtchng mode s used, for example, for escape-sgn lumnares. Non-mantaned lght: swtchng mode n whch the emergency lumnare s swtched off durng mans operaton but swtched on durng emergency operaton (n the event of a mans falure and durng emergency lghtng tests). Lghtng management: swtchng mode n whch the emergency lumnare can be swtched on and off as well as dmmed/brghtened durng mans operaton, but s always swtched on durng emergency operaton. A swtchng mode s assgned to each emergency lumnare by default durng addressng. The assgned swtchng mode depends on the type of emergency lumnare. Not every emergency lumnare supports all swtchng modes; f a swtchng mode s not supported, t s greyed out. Test group (Only for self-contaned emergency lumnares) Durng a duraton test, a power falure s smulated n order to test whether the emergency lumnare s functonng properly and whether the battery acheves ts nomnal operatng duraton. In order to ensure that a prevous duraton test has not empted all batteres n an emergency, a duraton test s not performed smultaneously for all self-contaned emergency lumnares; the emergency lumnares are tested n two test groups (test group A and test group B). A test group s a group of self-contaned emergency lumnares that are tested smultaneously durng an automatc duraton test. The self-contaned emergency lumnares are automatcally assgned to test groups A and B durng addressng. The assgnment takes place alternately. The assgnment can be changed at any tme. WARNING If test groups are ncorrectly assgned, the emergency lghtng wll not functon. If too many emergency lumnares are tested smultaneously, the emergency lghtng functon cannot be guaranteed n an emergency. Ensure that the emergency lumnares are dstrbuted equally between test group A and B, e.g. 25 emergency lumnares n test group A and 25 emergency lumnares n test group B. 59 Appendx 10.3 Glossary Term Explanaton Absence scene Scene n an area where absence s detected. Any scene can be defned as an absence scene. Acton tmeframe Tme durng whch a functon s enabled (e.g. presence lnkng). The acton tmeframe can be defned usng tmeframes and a dead tme. Balance lumnare Lumnare consstng of at least two lamps, one for drect lghtng and one for ndrect lghtng. For Balance lumnares, the lght balance can be changed n addton to the ntensty. Blnds (type 3) Blnds whch can move to dfferent postons. Ths type of blnds does not have slats or has slats that cannot be adjusted. Blnds (type 3+4) Blnds whch can move to dfferent postons and have adjustable slats. Blnds (type 4) Blnds wth slats the poston of the blnds s fxed, but the slats are adjustable. Buldng servce Component of the buldng's techncal equpment whch s part of the buldng's nfrastructure. In LUXMATE buldng management systems, buldng servces are controlled va modes of operaton. A buldng servce can be controlled va more than one mode of operaton. Examples of buldng servces are lghtng and blnds. Contrast sensor Sensor that presents the envronment as a contrast mage DALI load Typcal power consumpton of a subscrber on the DALI control lne. Delay tme Tme durng whch a specfc threshold must be breached n order to trgger a response. The response or the event that follows s only permtted after ths tme has expred. Detal control A way of controllng devces ether ndvdually or n groups Dmmng range A range n whch the ntensty of the lumnares can be smoothly adjusted. It s restrcted to the physcal upper and lower lmts. Settng a lower and upper dmmng lmt can lmt the dmmng range further. ed devce Sensors, control ponts, nput devces and control unts that are used n DALI systems. Each of these devces has ts own address (0 to 63) whch can be used to operate t ndvdually. End poston Maxmum poston (e.g. of blnds) defned by a lmt swtch. There can be an upper and a lower end poston. Fade tme The tme t takes to change from one value (scene, presence value) to another. Example wth a scene as a value: If the fade tme s, for example, 0 seconds, the change from one scene to the next s mmedate. If the fade tme s 20 seconds, the outputs wll smoothly adjust to gradually swtch to the control values for the 58

60 Appendx Term Explanaton next scene wthn those 20 seconds. All outputs reach the desred value smultaneously (once the fade tme has expred). Ice alarm The ce alarm should stop blnds from movng when ce has formed on them, preventng them from beng damaged. It s trggered when the outdoor temperature drops below a certan threshold and a ran sensor has detected precptaton. Lght balance Rato of drect to ndrect lghtng Lght source System for generatng lght n a lumnare (e.g. lamp, LED module) Locaton Process for determnng where a network or bus subscrber s located or what ts address t. How subscrbers are located dffers from devce to devce. There are three methods of locatng devces: vsual, acoustc and tactle. Mode of operaton Determnes whch buldng servce s beng controlled. Each buldng servce s controlled by at least one mode of operaton. Examples of modes of operaton are ntensty, blnd poston and slat poston. Momentary-acton swtch (MAS) Control pont that upon beng operated ether closes and/or opens a crcut, dependng on ts wrng, but wthout clckng nto place lke a standard swtch,.e. once t s released the affected crcut returns to ts orgnal state. Movement range Defnes the capabltes of blnds or a wndow to move between the end postons, f the blnds/wndow have an actuator whch s able to measure the dstance covered and send feedback about the current poston of the blnds/wndow. Settng a lower and upper lmt of the movement range can lmt the range further. Pattern Preset control values for 3 or 4 DALI short SEQUENCE nfnty addresses, through whch actvty-related lght dstrbutons are created (e.g. concentrated work, presentaton, conference) Presence lnkng A way of controllng lumnares whlst takng nto account the presence of people. Presence s usually detected by presence detectors. Presence scene Scene n an area where the presence of at least one person s detected. Any scene can be defned as a presence scene. Producton number Globally unque dentfcaton number of a LUXMATE devce. The seral number can be determned from the producton number. Ran alarm The ran alarm should prevent blnds (such as awnngs) from beng damaged by ran. It s trggered after a ran sensor determnes that a defned precptaton level has been exceeded durng a specfed delay tme. Reference number Number used to generate and check the lcence number. Requred llumnance Illumnance requred at mnmum at a specfc locaton (e.g. workspace) so that a person can complete vsual tasks effectvely and accurately. 59

61 Appendx Term Explanaton RGA address Address used n LUXMATE systems for communcaton purposes. The RGA address s based on the followng address scheme: room address/group address/ndvdual address. RGB lumnare Lumnare consstng of three ndvdual lamps (red, green, blue). Coloured lght s generated through addtve colour mxng. Run-on tme Tme that starts after a certan event (e.g. the last person leaves the room) and after whch an acton s trggered (e.g. fade tme starts, absence scene s recalled). If an event occurs durng the run-on tme (e.g. someone re-enters the room), the run-on tme starts agan. A typcal applcaton for run-on tme s the starwell functon. Slat poston Specfes how the slats of blnds tlt. Expressed as a percentage (%). Specal lumnare Lumnare wth multple lght sources (such as lamps, LED modules). The LITECOM web applcaton can be used to combne the lght sources nto one lumnare so that they can be controlled together. Standard swtch Control pont that upon beng operated ether closes or opens a crcut and clcks nto place as t does so (as opposed to a momentary-acton swtch). System extenson Process durng whch new network or bus subscrbers are addressed, whch are used n an exstng and addressed system. Addressng for prevously addressed network or bus subscrbers wll reman unchanged. Tmeframe Lmted tme perod between two or more events whch already have set tmes. Example: two tmeframes are defned for presence lnkng (07:00 12:00 and 14:00 18:00). Presence lnkng s enabled durng these tmeframes. Tunable Whte Opton of dynamcally changng the lght of the LED n the whte lght range. Colour temperatures from 2700 K to 6500 K, for example, can be varably set usng a control. The LED lumnares acheve hgh colour renderng of at least Ra 80 to >Ra 90. TW lumnare Lumnare that supports Tunable Whte. There are two types of TW lumnare: Lumnares that consst of at least two ndvdual lamps, one for warm-whte and one for cool-whte. Lumnares that have one ndvdual lamp that supports Tunable Whte. Vsual locaton Type of locaton n whch the address of a network or bus subscrber s used to vsually locate ths subscrber n the feld. A vsually located lumnare, for example, responds by swtchng to the maxmum level. A vsually located set of blnds, for example, responds by movng to the lower end poston. 60

62 Appendx Term Explanaton Wnd alarm The wnd alarm should stop blnds from movng when wnd speeds are hgh, for example, preventng them from beng damaged. It s trggered after a wnd speed sensor determnes that a defned wnd speed has been exceeded durng a specfed delay tme. 61
