1 How to Get Started wth Vrtual Goale HTC VIVE Set up your computer and moble devce Acqure a vrtual realty-enabled computer and the HTC Vve. For hardware specs, to test your computer, or to order from Amazon, vst the Requred Hardware page of our webste. (Wndows Mxed realty wll not work.) 1) Download the Vrtual Goale software to your VR computer a. Open b. Open the.exe fle that downloads to your computer and clck Install 2) Set up your VR headset a. Vve wll help you through the setup process Download Steam and Steam VR 1 The Vve setup software wll walk you through the nstallaton b. If you are usng a Vve Tracker, you must par t wth your computer You must have the USB chp that comes wth the tracker plugged n for the tracker to work 3) Download the Vrtual Goale app to your OS or Androd devce Set up your account & settngs 1) Create an account a. Open the Vrtual Goale app on your devce b. At the bottom of the screen, touch Sgn n or Sgn Up 1

2 c. Enter your emal address and touch Sgn Up d. The app wll dsplay a page that requres verfcaton of your emal address e. You wll receve an emal wth a Verfcaton Code f. Enter the verfcaton code n the app wth your new password g. Clck Verfy h. Now, log nto the app wth your username and password. Alternatve: You can go through the same process at 2) On the app, set up your profle a. Open the app b. Sgn n wth your emal address and password c. Touch to open the menu on the top left corner of the app d. Touch Settngs e. Update your personal settngs: domnant hand, shot speed, etc. f. Touch Save on the top rght of the screen 3) On purchase a subscrpton. a. On the top navgaton bar, clck Sgn In b. Enter your emal address and password and clck Sgn In c. On the followng page, enter your credt card nformaton and clck Subscrbe. 4) Coaches: No need to purchase a subscrpton to vew your goales data. a. Download the app to your moble devce. b. Set up your stck 1) If you need a mount to attach the Vve Tracker to your stck, order t on the ste a. On clck Sgn In on the top navgaton bar b. Sgn n wth your username and password c. In the top black navgaton bar, clck Buy Mount Select the Vve tracker mount 2) Attach the mount to your stck 2

3 a. Watch ths vdeo: b. Get a 30 shaft or cut down a shaft to 15, whchever you prefer (ths should not be a stck you use regularly) c. Attach a goale head to one sde d. Place the Vve tracker so the hole on the bottom lnes up wth the hole on the flat sde of the tracker mount. Take the screw that comes wth your mount and screw t n the tracker s hole. The tracker should be orented lke ths: The hole n the mount s facng to the rght when the text on the bottom s facng towards you e. Slde the mount onto your lacrosse shaft. f. Thread another screw through the hole n the mount. Ths can be a screw that you use to mount stck heads onto shafts. g. Update your profle settngs wth the correct stck type Logn to the app wth your username and password Touch the top left menu Touch Stck Type to choose the approprate opton 3

4 Logn to the VR software to start tranng 1) Watch ths vdeo: 2) To begn, go to your app and get a token and enter t nto the system. a. In the app on your devce, touch the menu n the top left corner and tap Oculus Token (Ths s also what you use wth the Vve.) b. Tap Generate Token c. Go to your VR computer, open the Vrtual Goale software d. Put on your headset and enter the token a Use your head to am the crosshars over a number, then clck the trggers on the hand controllers to select t e. If you make a mstake, am the crosshars at the X then clck the trgger f. When you have the token entered, hover over Go, then clck the trgger g. You wll be transported nto the game feld h. Coaches: You can generate tokens for each of your players from your app. No need to sgn n/out of the computer software each tme a new player starts. Just go to your app and generate a new token for each player. 3) Choose Assessment, Course or Drll a. The menu wll appear after you enter the token b. You can also open the menu at any tme wth a hand controller by clckng the top button wth the three lnes. c. Use your head and a controller to make menu selectons. Hover the crosshars over your selecton. Clck the trgger. If there are sub-menus, the menus wll change. For a Drll or Course, an nformaton pane about that drll or course wll appear to the rght of the menu d. Use the crosshars to hover over Start Drll n the nformaton pane and clck the trgger to begn Tranng 1) To begn savng shots, put the crosshars n the crcle above the shooter s head for ½ second. The crcle wll change to ndcate that you re lookng at t 2) The shooter wll shoot n ½ to 2 seconds 4

5 3) If you have coachng enabled n your settngs, you wll receve feedback after every shot a. Feedback s dsplayed as a red or green pane wth text b. To dsmss the feedback, use your head to am the crosshars at the vrtual button under the pane for ½ second Course & Tranng Recommendatons Warm Up Every tme you tran wth Vrtual Goale, start wth a Warmup course. The data from ths course s not stored. It s ntended as a warmup only. Assessment The frst tme you use the system, you must do an Assessment course. Ths course has two drlls, each 100 shots. The frst drll has shots gong everywhere, wth no bounce. The second has shots gong everywhere, bouncng. For both, the speed ncreases ncrementally from your baselne mnus 5 MPH to your baselne plus 35 MPH. For example, f your baselne s 65 MPH, the speeds wll range from 60 to 100 MPH. (You entered your baselne n the Settngs n the app.) The pont of ths assessment s for you to collect a lot of data about your abltes. It gves you a startng pont to compare your progress over tme, and provdes data that gves you nsght nto your ablty to make saves at dfferent speeds. Speed Tranng We hghly suggest you do the Speed Tranng course three tmes per week. It s desgned to ncrease your ablty to make saves at hgh speeds. It wll take you out of your comfort zone. That s OK! The course conssts of fve drlls, each of whch ncreases the shot speed ncrementally from your baselne mnus 5 MPH to your baselne plus 20 MPH. Talor Your Tranng Beyond these suggestons, talor your tranng routne to your needs. If you have trouble wth bounce shots, do Bouncer Tranng. If up-close shots freak you out, do the Up Close 5
