1 Signature Formats 03 Illustrated below are the only approved corporate signature formats for internal and external applications. To ensure our legal protection and to promote proper use, the symbol or signature must never be redrawn, cut apart, stacked, condensed, elongated, embellished, or altered in any way. The signature must always be reproduced from approved reflective or electronic reproduction artwork. Electronic logo artwork in a variety of approved formats, styles, and colors is available at Please contact Melody Dunbar, Corporate Relations, for signature artwork containing the Berkshire Hathaway reference. The preferred signature format for most internal and external applications is Format A. Signature Format B is appropriate for limited vertical space applications, or when the alignment required for Format A usage is not possible. Signature Format C is appropriate for limited horizontal space applications. 2 Color Palette 06 The Johns Manville corporate colors are specific shades of blue and dark gray. The color palettes presented will be applicable to both internal and external communications. Maintaining accurate color density and consistency in all applications will reinforce the family appearance while conveying a strong sense of professionalism through identity control. A recommended group of secondary support colors is provided for color coding materials or any other purpose except signature use. In lieu of, you may use PANTONE * 293 Blue. 3 The Use of Color Whenever possible and feasible, use the approved two-color positive signature on applications. The preferred background color positive signature is bright white. Do not reproduce the positive signature in any other color than specified here. 4 The Use of Color 05 Outlined below are the approved reverse color (all white) application of our signature. The preferred background color is. 5 Area of Isolation An area surrounding the corporate signature must always remain clear of other imagery including typography, photographs, design elements, page trim and folds. This clear area is based on the height of the JM symbol as shown in these illustrations. Generous clear space is always desirable. 6 Minimum Sizes Signature size is based on the height of the symbol. Illustrated below are minimum sizes allowed for each signature format. 7 Signature Misuse Preserving the integrity of the Johns Manville signature is significantly important. Inaccurate reproductions of the Johns Manville signature will erode the ability to legally protect this valuable asset, as well as confuse our various audiences. Typical signature violations and misinterpretations are shown here. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Do not allow signature to appear in an unapproved color. Do not put part of the signature in a band of color. A Berkshire Hathaway Company Do not typeset any part of the signature. During the meeting... Do not change the relationships between elements of a signature. Do not use the signature in body copy. Do not use the "JM" symbol by itself, without the Johns Manville name. Do not create a new logo that incorporates any one of the approved signatures, the initials "JM", or typeset "Johns Manville" name.
8 Signature Misuse In an effort to clearly communicate to our various audiences, certain signatures will no longer be used. By eliminating these signatures and names, we are able to communicate with one worldwide voice Johns Manville. Illustrated below are signatures that are no longer approved for presentation on Johns Manville communications. If you have any questions or issues concerning selection of a particular signature, contact John Manville Corporate Relations.
