1 Liberty Star Welcome to the Liberty Star Class! Discover how to make Eight Pointed stars from squares and rectangles. We will make this fun and exciting quilt block with the new Modern Triangle Rectangle tool. Bring your strips, squares and rectangles pre-cut to class and we will begin sewing right away. From this strip cut (1) 9 ½ square for Flying Geese, Cut (4) 5 squares and (4) 4 ½ squares Cut (2) 2 ¾ x 40 strips Cut (1) 9 ½ x 40 strip. From this strip cut (1) 9 ½ square, Re-cut the remainder into a 2 strip and a 3 strip. From each of the strips cut (8) squares at 2 x 2 for Eight Pointed Star and (8) squares at 3 x 3 for Eight Pointed Star Cut (2) 2 ¾ x 40 strips Cut (5) 4 ½ x 40 strips for border Cut (2) 5 x 40 strips.
