From Fabric A (SLIF 517 S) cut: (1) 6 7 /8 x 42 strip; cut (4) 6 7 /8 squares, sub cut on the diagonal into 8 half square triangles From Fabric B (SLIF 518 K), cut: (2) 6 7 /8 x 42 strips; cut (8) 6 7 /8 squares, sub cut on the diagonal into 16 half square triangles (7) 2 1 /4 x 42 strips From Fabric G (SLIF 516 W), cut: (6) 2 1 /2 x 42 strips; piece the strips and cut (2) 2 1 /2 x 50 1 /2 border strips and (2) 2 1 /2 x 54 1 /2 border strips From Fabric H (CWEA 200 S), cut: (6) 4 1 /2 x 42 strips; piece the strips and cut (2) 4 1 /2 x 54 1 /2 border strips and (2) 4 1 /2 x 62 1 /2 border strips Half Square Triangle Assembly 1. Take the (8) Fabric A HSTs and sew them right sides together with (8) of the Fabric B HSTs. Press towards Fabric B. 2. Take the remaining (8) Fabric B HSTs and sew them right sides together with (8) of the Fabric D HSTs. Press towards Fabric D. 3. Take the remaining (8) Fabric D HSTs and sew them right sides together with (8) of the Fabric E HSTs. Press towards Fabric E. 4. Take the remaining (16) Fabric E HSTs and sew them right sides together with the (16) Fabric F HSTs. Press towards Fabric F. From Fabric C (SLIF 521 S), cut: From Fabric D (SLIF 522 K), cut: (2) 6 7 /8 x 42 strips; cut (8) 6 7 /8 squares, sub cut on the diagonal into 16 half square triangles (2) 6 1 /2 strips; cut (8) 6 1 /2 squares From Fabric E (SLIF 520 S), cut: (2) 6 7 /8 x 42 strips; cut (12) 6 7 /8 squares, sub cut on the diagonal into 24 half square triangles 5. Sew (4) of the Fabric A/B HST squares to the Fabric A 6 1 /2 squares as shown. Repeat for the remaining Fabric A/B HSTS squares and the (4) Fabric C 6 1 /2 squares. Press towards the Fabric A and C squares. Sew the units together to make (4) Inside Center Blocks. From Fabric F (SLIF 519 S), cut: (2) 6 7 /8 x 42 strips; cut (8) 6 7 /8 squares, sub cut on the diagonal into 16 half square triangles

3 6. Sew (4) of the Fabric E/F HST squares to the Fabric E 6 1/2 squares as shown. Repeat for (4) more of the Fabric E/F HST squares and the Fabric F 6 1/2 squares. Press towards the Fabric E and F squares. Sew the units together to make (4) Outside Corner Blocks. 7. Sew (4) of the Fabric B/D HST squares to the Fabric D 6 1/2 squares as shown. Repeat for (4) of the Fabric D/E HST squares, sewing them to (4) of the Fabric E/F HST squares. Press towards the Fabric D squares and the Fabric E/F HST squares. Sew the units together to make (4) Left Center Blocks. Quilt Assembly & Finishing 9. Referring to the layout diagram for Inside Center, Outside Corner, and Left and Right Center Block placement, sew the blocks together into (4) identical quarters, paying close attention to the orientation of each block. 10. Sew the quarters together into the finished quilt top, matching seams carefully. Sew the inside border pieces to the quilt top, matching ends and centers. Press towards the inside borders, then sew the outside border pieces to the quilt top, matching ends and centers. Press towards the outside borders. 11. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing; baste. Quilt as desired. Using the Fabric B 2 1/4 wide binding strips, sew around the quilt top. Turn the binding to the back and secure in place by hand or machine. Label and enjoy! 8. Sew the (4) remaining Fabric B/D HST squares to the remaining Fabric D 6 1/2 squares as shown. Repeat for the remaining (4) Fabric D/E HST squares and Fabric E/F HST squares. Press towards the Fabric D squares and the Fabric E/F HST squares. (4) 3 x 42 strips, sub-cut into (56) 3 squares and draw a diagonal line on the WRONG side from tip to tip Placemats and Table Runner. From Fabric C (SLIF 520 S), cut: (4) 2 1 /2 x 42 strips Binding, Mug Rugs. (4) 3 x 42 strips; sub-cut into (28) 3 x 5 1 /2 rectangles Placemats and Table Runner. From Fabric D (SLIF 517 S), fussy cut: (14) 4 1 /2 x 7 1 /2 rectangles Placemats and Table Runner. From Fabric E (SLIF 522 K), cut: (11) 2 1 /2 x 42 strips Binding, Placemats and Table Runner. (5) 1 x 42 strips; sub-cut into (14) 1 x 7 1 /2 rectangles and (14) 1 x 5 1 /2 rectangles Placemats and Table Runner. PLACEMAT From Fabric F (SLIF 518 K), cut: (1) strip at 6 1 /2 x 42, sub-cut into (4) 6 1 /2 x 8 1 /2 rectangles Mug Rugs. TABLE RUNNER

5 Table Runner, Placemats & Mug Rug instructions continued from flap. Block Assembly and Finishing - Placcemat 4. Sew (1) Flying Geese Unit to the top of (1) Side Unit with the tip towards the outside, then sew (1) Flying Geese Unit to the bottom of the Side Unit with the tip towards the inside as illustrated in the Placemat Finish Block. Make (7) Label Left Side and set aside for use later. 5. Sew (1) Flying Geese Unit to the top of (1) Side Unit with the tip towards the inside, then sew (1) Flying Geese Unit to the bottom of the Side Unit with the tip towards the outside as illustrated in the Placemat Finish Block. Make (7) Label Right Side. Refer to this illustration of the finished Placemat and Table Runner Block as a guide. 1. Sew (1) Fabric B 7 1 /2 x 1 rectangle to the top and bottom of (1) Fabric A 7 1 /2 x 12 1 /2 rectangle then sew (1) Fabric B 1 x 13 1 /2 rectangle to the left and right side to measure 8 1 /2 x 13 1 /2 unfinished. Make (7) Label Center. 2. Sew (1) Fabric E 1 x 7 1 /2 rectangle to the left and right sides of (1) Fabric D 4 1 /2 x 7 1 /2 rectangle then sew (1) Fabric E 5 1 /2 x 1 rectangle to the top and bottom to measure 5 1 /2 x 8 1 /2 unfinished. Make (14) Label Side Unit. 3. Layer (1) Fabric B 3 square on top of the left side of (1) Fabric C 5 1 /2 x 3 rectangle with the diagonal line beginning at the bottom left corner as illustrated below and sew on the drawn line. Trim 1 /4 past the seam and press towards the outside. Do exactly the same thing for the right side, except the diagonal begins at the lower right corner to finish the Flying Geese Unit at 5 1 /2 x 3 as illustrated below. Make (28) Units. 6. Sew the units together from left to right as follows to finish the Placemat Block at 18 x 13 finished. Make (7) Left Side, Center, Right Side. FOUR are for the Placemats and THREE are for the Table Runner. 7. Layer the backing, batting, and Placemat and quilt as desired. Make (4). 8. Using Fabric E 2 1 /2 -wide binding strip, sew on the binding to finish the FOUR Placemats. Block Assembly and Finishing - Table Runner 9. Sew (3) of the Placemat Blocks together at the 13 1 /2 edge to measure 54 x 13 finished. 10. Layer the backing, batting, and Placemat and quilt as desired. 11. Using Fabric E 2 1 /2 wide binding strip, sew on the binding to finish the Table Runner. Block Assembly and Finishing - Mug Rug Refer to the illustration of the Mug Rug as a guide. 12. Layer the backing, batting, and (1) Fabric F 6 1 /2 x 8 1 /2 rectangle and quilt as desired. Make (4). 13. Using Fabric C 2 1 /2 wide binding strip, sew on the binding to finish the FOUR Mug Rugs.
