2 Pint Jars - Quilt is 56½" x 63½". Instructions include a ¼" seam allowance. Press in the direction of the arrows. WOF=width of fabric Cutting: Pint Jars: 46 5" x 5" squares Lids: 2 3" x width of fabric strips Background: 1 3¾" x width of fabric strip cut the strip into 6 3¾" x 6" rectangles 18 2½" x width of fabric strips cut 6 strips into 39 rectangles the remaining 12 strips end to end from this strip cut 2 2½" x 51" strips 2 2½" x 48" strips 6 strips 11 x width of fabric strips set aside 4 strips for strip piecing the Lids cut 7 strips into 184 x squares Border & Binding: 6 5" x width of fabric strips the strips end to end then cut 2 5" x 59" strips 2 5" x 57" strips 7 2½" x width of fabric strips (Binding) Pint Jars 1 To make one Pint Jar: (A) Press 4- Background squares in half on the diagonal (or draw a line on the diagonal). Background 4- squares (B) Layer 2- Background squares on the upper left and lower right corner of 1-5" x 5" Jar square, right sides together. Sew on the diagonal lines. Trim ¼" from the seam lines. Press to set the seams then to the corners to form triangles. Jar 5" x 5" (C) Layer 2- Background squares on the other 2 corners of the same square, right sides together. Sew on the diagonal lines. Trim ¼" from the seam lines. Press to set the seams then to the corners to form triangles. Repeat to make 46 Pint Jars. Pint Jar Repeat to make 46. 5" x 5" 2

3 2 To make the Lids: Sew 2- x WOF Background and 1-3" x WOF Lid strip together as shown. Press away from the Lid strip. Make 2 strip sets. Cut into wide units. Cut 46 Lids. 3 Sew the Lids to the Pint Jars. Press away from the Jar. Make 46-5" x 6". Assemble the Quilt 4 Make 2 strip sets. x WOF 3" x WOF x WOF 5" x Lid Cut 46. Row A: Sew 7-Pint Jars and 6- Background rectangles together as shown to make one row. *** Press away from the Pint Jars. Repeat to make 4-Row As. Pint Jar Make 46. 5" x 6" Row A Make 4. 6" x 44" 5 Row B: Sew 6-Pint Jars, 5-, and 2-3¾" x 6" Background rectangles together as shown to make one row. Press away from the Pint Jars. Repeat to make 3-Row Bs. 3¾" x 6" 3¾" x 6" Row B Make 3. 6" x 44" ***Tip: Set aside 7 Pint Jars. Layer a Background rectangle, right sides together, on top of a Pint Jar then chain the rectangles to the left side of the Pint Jars all at one time. Chain a 39 Pint Jars. 3

4 6 Assemble the quilt: (A) Sew the 4-Row As, 3-Row Bs, and 6- Background strips together as shown to make the quilt center. Press away from the Jar rows. (B) Add the 2-2½" x 51" Background strips to the sides of the quilt. Add the 2-2½" x 49" Background strips to the top and bottom of the quilt. (C) Add the 2-5" x 55" Border strips to the sides of the quilt. Add the 2-5" x 57" Border strips to the top and bottom of the quilt. (D) Sew the 7 Binding strips end to end. Cutting: Quart Jars & Pieced Border: 24 5" x 10" rectangles (Jars) 70-5" x 3½" rectangles for the Pieced Border Lids: 2 3" x 22" strips Background: 2 11" x width of fabric strips cut strips into 28 11" x 2½" rectangles 5 2½" x width of fabric strips cut EACH strip to 2½" x 4 strip (for a total of 5-2½" x 4 strips) 6 x width of fabric strips cut 4 strips into 4- x 22" strips (for strip piecing the Lids) cut 6 strips into 96 x squares Binding: 6 2½" x width of fabric strips (Binding) Quart Jars 1 Instructions include a ¼" seam allowance. Quart Jar Make 24. 5" x 11" Assemble the Quilt 4 Sew 6-Quart Jars and 7- Background rectangles together as shown to make one row. *** Press away from the Quart Jars. Repeat to make 4 rows. Make 4. 11" x 4 ***Tip: Layer a Background rectangle, right sides together, on top of a Quart Jar then chain the rectangles to the right side of the Quart Jars all at one time. Chain all 24 Quart Jars. 6

7 5 Assemble the quilt: (A) Sew the 4 Quart Jar rows and 5-2½" x 4 Background strips together as shown to make the quilt center. Press away from the Quart Jar rows. (B) Pieced Side Borders: Sew 18-5" x 3½" rectangles together. Trim to measure 5" x 52½". Make 2. Sew to the sides of the quilt top. 5" x 3½" 5" x 3½" Side Borders 5" x 52½" (C) Pieced Top & Bottom Borders: Sew 17-5" x 3½" rectangles together. Trim to measure 5" x 50½". Make 2. Sew to the top and bottom of the quilt top. Top & Bottom Borders 5" x 50½" (D) Sew the 6 Binding strips end to end.
