1 General Information This quilt is 60 3/4" x 60 3/4". It is made from 2 blocks, for a total of 25, with a finished size of 12". The names of the blocks are Sawtooth Star and Patricia's Patch. Read through the pattern before starting to find out where and how the piecing instructions can be changed so that your favorite piecing methods can be used for Half Square Triangles. 4 Cut: Sawtooth Star Follow the QuiltSandwich cutting diagrams to cut out the individual pieces for the block. Use Cutting Diagrams for pieces A,B,C,D. Piece: Make the Sawtooth Star This pattern uses the Folded Corner method of making the Flying Geese, pieces B and C. A total of 52 Flying Geese units are needed to make 13 Sawtooth Star blocks. 6 Cut: Patricia's Patch Follow the QuiltSandwich cutting diagrams to cut out the individual pieces for the block. Use Cutting Diagrams for pieces E,F,G,H,I. Piece: Patricia's Patch Half Square Triangle Units This pattern uses the Traditional Method of making Half Square Triangle units, pieces E and F. There are different methods for piecing Half Square Triangle units. If using a special triangle ruler or cutting oversized pieces for half square triangle units, check out the PDF downloads about Triangles on the QuiltSandwichaoo.com website for instructions on how QuiltSandwich works with special rulers and triangle square up rulers for oversized pieces. Look under Support/Question/FAQs. A total of 48 Half Square Triangle units are needed to make 12 Patricia's Patch blocks. Piece: Patricia's Patch Rectangle units Use strip piecing to assemble the rectangle units needed for this block. Follow the QuiltSandwich Cutting Diagrams to obtain the correct number of strips to cut for pieces G and H. Then sew the strips together in the color combination of your design. After sewing the strips together, press the seam to one side and subcut the strips into 48 rectangle units to make 12 blocks. Page 6 Aug 10, 2016

Assemble Patricia's Patch block - make 12. Assemble the Quilt Top Sew the blocks together in 5 rows of 5 blocks, alternating the blocks. The first block in row number 1 is the Sawtooth Star.

7 Assemble Patricia's Patch block - make 12. Assemble the Quilt Top Sew the blocks together in 5 rows of 5 blocks, alternating the blocks. The first block in row number 1 is the Sawtooth Star. Finish Layer the quilt back, batting and quilt top to make the quilt sandwich. Baste the layers together using your favorite method. Then, quilt them together using your favorite method of quilting or tying. BINDING This pattern uses a 3/4 inch finished front width double-fold binding. This is a wider binding than what is typically used. To make the binding this wide, the batting and backing need to be trimmed 1/2" beyond the top. Fold the binding in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Press. Follow the instructions on the QuiltSandwich cutting diagram. To make the binding narrower or wider just change the settings for the binding in the Yardage Calculator.
