Employees of the Month

10 At the May Town Council Meeting, Mayor Will Haynie and Mount Pleasant Town Council awarded the Employee of the Month Award to Sgt. Salata, Sgt. Winstead, Det. Ballentine, Det. Buono, Det. Goode, SPO Harper, Det. Ivey, Det. Jenkins and Det. Stephenson for their investigation and arrest of two dangerous suspects. On April 4, the Tavern and Table restaurant on Shem Creek was robbed and the manager shot in the back. With very little information to go on, the MPPD Investigations Team began an exhaustive search that led to the arrest of two suspects for Armed Robbery and Attempted Murder. This investigation has been a textbook example of solid detective work, from the initial response and assessment of the crime scene through electronic analysis and suspect interviews to the apprehension of the suspects. Because of the team's dedication and professionalism, two dangerous criminals will be held responsible for their actions. The victim and his family have been given a measure of comfort and justice amidst their pain. The community s sense of security has been restored. Years of Service Recognition
