2 AFFIRMATIONS INCREASE YOUR HAPPINESS WHAT ARE AFFIRMATIONS? Affirmations are positive, specific statements that help you overcome selfsabotaging, negative thoughts. They are statements spoken out loud to yourself to encourage positive change and improvement in any given area in your life. They help you visualize and believe in what you are affirming yourself to be, allowing you to make constructive changes. WHY PRACTICE AFFIRMATIONS? If you are looking to find a way to improve yourself, gain control over your life, reach your highest potential, then this book is for you. You will learn how to take control of your thoughts; eradicate old, damaging, and limiting beliefs; and reprogram your mind to believe and act in ways that will enhance your life. My method of practicing affirmations effectively reprograms your thinking, helps you shake off a defeatist mindset, and enables you to form positive mental habits. You will feel better about yourself, improve your relationships, and increase your sense of well-being after you put these basic techniques and tips into practice. FOR THE NEXT 4 WEEKS The techniques in this workbook will help you in your personal growth. As affirmations become a part of your daily life, you will witness a personal transformation that shifts your mindset from the realm of the impossible to infinite possibilities. HOW TO USE THIS WORKBOOK This workbook is a companion to my detailed blog post "How Affirmations Energize Your Intentions for Increased Happiness." It contains fillable forms, so you can type right into the workbook. If you prefer to write out your response long hand, you can also print this form. I also included an extra sheet for taking notes or jotting down insights you discover along this 4 WEEK journey. To preserve your work, remember to "Save As" to your desktop or a computer folder. 3 1] WRITE IT DOWN Free write for 5 to 10 minutes about one area in your life you would like to focus on improving for the next 4 weeks (e.g. lack of good friendships). 2] MAKE A LIST Make a list of 20 negative, limiting beliefs about the topic that hinder your progress in that area. Some examples: 1. Nobody understands me. 2. I never feel like I fit in. 3. Only extroverted and popular people have friends LIFE BY KRYSTAL ELLE LIFE.KRYSTALANDCO.COM 3

4 3] CONVERT THE NEGATIVE TO THE POSITIVE Convert each of your 20 negative, limiting beliefs into at least one positive affirmation. Some examples: 1. Nobody understands me. I express myself clearly to others. 2. I never feel like I fit in. I am loved, wanted, and accepted. 3. Only extroverted and popular people have friends. The friends I desire, desire me or I attract my ideal friends into my life LIFE BY KRYSTAL ELLE LIFE.KRYSTALANDCO.COM 4

5 4] VISUALIZE YOUR IDEAL, PERFECT SCENARIO Describe a perfect scenario in which your life situation is at its ideal. Write out a detailed paragraph or two about what you think, feel, see, touch, and experience in this ideal scenario. You will use this visualization before and after you say your affirmations. 5] TAKE ACTION! List at least four (4) action steps you can take to improve this area of your life. Examples: 1. Call or connect to a friend you haven't spoken to in a while. 2. Send a friend a handwritten card in the mail LIFE BY KRYSTAL ELLE LIFE.KRYSTALANDCO.COM 5

6 6] PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS 1. Say your affirmations at least once a day each week in a quiet or comfortable spot where you won't be disturbed. Remember to conduct your visualization before and after you say your affirmations. 2. Perform one of your action steps one time per week in sequence. For example, on week one, call a friend you haven't spoken to in a while. On week two, send a friend a card in the mail, etc. 3. Record your observations at the end of each week.
