2 Barriers to Trusting Yourself Trusting Your Knowing: A Journaling Exercise to Open Receptivity With this journaling exercise, the most important thing is to be authentic about what you re experiencing in the now. It doesn t matter what that experience is, simply allow it to be. On a separate piece of paper or in a journal, answer the following questions. Go through the entire set of questions at least 2-3 times each time you do this exercise. Remember to write down your authentic experience, regardless of whether it makes sense or not, or whether it s logical. It s all about honesty, so there s no need to force yourself to let go of anything. 1. Where in your life have you distrusted your own natural knowing about a situation? 2. Could you welcome the sensations, sounds, and pictures that come from this distrust? 3. Could you let go of wanting to distrust? 4. Where in your life have you trusted or welcomed your natural knowing into your life? 5. Could you welcome the sensations, sounds, and pictures that arise with this memory? 6. Just for now, could you allow this feeling of trust in your natural knowing to expand? Unleash Your Psychic Genius 2

3 Barriers to Trusting Your Guides Releasing Resentment or Frustration with Your Guides With this journaling exercise, the most important thing is to be authentic about what you re experiencing in the now. It doesn t matter what that experience is, simply allow it to be. On a separate piece of paper or in a journal, answer the following questions. Go through the entire set of questions at least 2-3 times each time you do this exercise. Remember to write down your authentic experience, regardless of whether it makes sense or not, or whether it s logical. It s all about honesty, so there s no need to force yourself to let go of anything. **NOTE: On Question 6, this is an invitation to FEEL into that trusting place and allow it to grow. 1. What is something you feel your guides have done wrong or that you don t understand? 2. Could you welcome the sensations, sounds, and pictures that come with this? 3. Could you let go of this and all the sensations, sounds and pictures that come with it? 4. What is something you feel your guides have done right in your life or on your behalf? 5. Could you welcome the sensations, sounds, and pictures that arise with that? 6. Could you allow yourself to welcome the feelings of trust and wellbeing that arise from this situation? 4 Dissolving Distrusting Beliefs Barriers to Trusting the Universe With this journaling exercise, the most important thing is to be authentic about what you re experiencing in the now. It doesn t matter what that experience is, simply allow it to be. On a separate piece of paper or in a journal, answer the following questions. Go through the entire set of questions at least 2-3 times each time you do this exercise. Remember to write down your authentic experience, regardless of whether it makes sense or not, or whether it s logical. It s all about honesty, so there s no need to force yourself to let go of anything. 1. Bring to mind a memory or a situation where you felt the world or the universe did not have your back and you felt unsafe. 2. Welcome all the feelings, sensations, images and sounds that come up with this experience. 3. In this state of stillness, what belief comes to the forefront that you now believe because of this experience or that was triggered BY this experience? Simply choose whichever one is the loudest or the least pleasant. 4. Would you like to change that? Could you let go of wanting to change that? 5. Does that belief feel like it is coming from wanting approval, control, security, separation or oneness? Could you let that want go? 6. Do you want to defend, justify, explain, or prove this belief? Could you let go of waning to defend, justify, explain, or prove this belief? 7. Do you want to figure out what to do about that or where it came from? Could you let go of wanting to figure that out? 8. Could you let go of wanting to believe that again? Unleash Your Psychic Genius 4

5 Celebrate Your Gains Listing the Wins On a separate piece of paper, write down the GAINS or WINS from working with your psychic genius. Take the time to really FEEL the satisfaction and happiness that comes from doing this work, and give yourself permission to celebrate your successes. Use the format below to explore your wins more deeply. The win or the gain: What I enjoyed most about it: The feeling I have about this win or gain: Unleash Your Psychic Genius 5

6 Release Fears by Welcoming Welcoming Fear to Dissolve It With this exercise, you can choose to either write out your responses, or simply get into the FEELING place. Try both to see what works best for you though most people find getting into the feeling place helps them process the emotions and dissolve them the best. 1. What is something that scares you about listening to your psychic genius or your intuition? 2. Welcome the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that arise with this thought. 3. Dive into the experience as fully as you can. What does the fear feel like? Where in the physical body is it located? List all that apply. 4. Does it have a color? A weight? What shape is it? Describe it as fully as you can. 5. Once you ve gotten in touch with the fear, focus your attention on your breath. Sit with in stillness and breathe deeply, in and out, for 2 minutes. 6. How has the fear changed? Does it still feel charged? If so, repeat the process. Some fears will dissolve on the first go, and others take a few rounds to dissolve completely. 7 Love Letter to the Ego Write a Love Letter to the Ego and to Fear The ego and fear are simply protection mechanisms. They have the very important job of recognizing danger and helping you to avoid it. The only problem arises when their voice is louder than that of your soul/spirit. In order to help you shift your experience of these, write a love letter to the ego and to fear. Write out all the wonderful things they ve done and helped you with the time they reminded you to look both ways before crossing the street, the time they kept you from getting into an automobile accident. Really get into feeling the love and appreciation for the ways your ego has tried to protect you. Once you ve gotten to a place where you are able to genuinely appreciate and love the ego, allow yourself to explore what type of relationship you want with your ego. Do you want it to inform you of danger differently? Do you want it to stop telling you you re going to die of embarrassment? How would you like for it to tell you of possible threats? A feeling? A visual? Ask for what you want. By asking AFTER you ve aligned with the higher vibrations, your ego will have a much easier time complying. At the end of the letter, re-affirm your feelings of appreciation for its role in your development. Unleash Your Psychic Genius 7

8 Trust Building Where Your Genius Has Served You Building Trust by Shifting Focus This exercise is simple, but powerful. Simply think of an area of your life, it doesn t matter how big or small it is, where your psychic genius has served you. It could be that it led you to a great diner, or that it s helped you find your keys. It could be that you knew someone was going to call. Think about and write out how it has served you, and if you can find one or two ways in the past 24 hours that it has served you, even better! This works because your attention cannot hold two thoughts at the same time. Instead, by focusing on where your genius has served you, you cannot focus on where it s let you down simultaneously. Instead, your mind-body system focuses on the positive, which allows you to build trust. How my psychic genius has served me in the recent past: Unleash Your Psychic Genius 8

9 Oneness Exercise Becoming an Object This exercise can be difficult at first, so allow yourself time to play with it and be VERY gentle on yourself as you explore it. You may not get it the first time, but it is one of the most powerful exercise you can do to trust your psychic genius and the universe as a whole. Choose an object you d like to experience, it can be a plant or a crystal or any physical object. Once you get comfortable with becoming a plant or crystal, you can always move to animals, but start with either a plant or object. When I first did this exercise, I used a light switch. No lie. So use whatever is easiest or most comfortable for you. 1. In a quiet room, meditate until you get to a place of inner stillness and peace. 2. Once you feel peace, allow the thought that you would like to experience reality AS the object you have chosen. Allow this thought to be loose in your awareness. Don t try to force yourself to experience anything, simply ask. Allow your energy to expand. Your mind might start chattering about how it s impossible or ridiculous that s normal. Let it chatter for a bit until it calms and you regain a state of peace, then ask the same thing again. 3. Repeat the asking until you feel yourself merge with the object and become one with it. Expect it to feel weird and the merging process may pull you out of the peaceful state the first few times you practice it. Again, this is normal. Your mind simply got excited, so return to the peaceful state and ask again to merge with the object. 4. Once you ve merged with the object, simply breathe into the oneness.
